First and foremost, Lena is the kind of person you want in your corner. Kind, intuitive, incredibly smart, and empathetic, she has the ability to provide guidance that meets you where you are and always leaves you feeling inspired and energized. She also is an expert in pulling out the wisdom we possess inside us, which means that I have developed a deep trust in myself and my own intuition - a life-long skill! Since working with Lena, my vision for my business has become clear, I know the next steps I need to take (or at least trust that they will appear), and I actually have fun in my work. Lena is the top Seattle and PNW life coach for a reason, and I'd recommend her to anyone who is in need of clarity and ready to create and fulfill their life vision.

At the beginning of this year, I signed up for a vision manifestation workshop put on by Yarah…read moreSutra (yes that is her real name!), a healer, priestess, and expert facilitator, based in Seattle, WA. It was a transformative, multi-sensory, and emotional experience that transitioned me, the participant, through a multitude of experiences and activities, from meditation, to work sheeting, to soul cleansing dance, and finally to the creation of a vision board as a physical artifact to represent the experience and the future manifestation of my desires. Over the past 11 years, as I have dove further into researching the power of the subconscious mind (psychology) and how our brain influences motivation and emotional control (neuroscience), I have quickly realized that more people in the world would benefit from this sort of experience where personal strategic planning meets psychological transformation. Many people want to better connect with their desires, achieve more happiness and success, and gain more self awareness, and I believe this type of workshop is a great way to kick off a change in your life. In particular, women tend to display particular self limiting beliefs (stemming from our patriarchal culture) that can result in us holding back from truly chasing our desires and dreams. What's really cool about Yarah's methods are the strong connection to human cultural traditions that have been in place for thousands of years: dance, drums, and meditation. She takes these elements and adds in process driven writing and visioning to add the right amount of structure and organization to complete the workshop experience. As someone who also works with people to build an immersive visioning workshop, I know the importance of compelling imagery and a moving experience to stir deep motivation and clarity not only within the rational brain, but also within the emotional brain. I have a couple of pictures from the event here, as well as my vision board itself. Every time I see this beautiful work of art, created by yours truly, it reignites a sense of clarity and intention around what I want to achieve this year. I can't recommend Yarah highly enough as a facilitator and guide for this type of experience. The sessions themselves were relaxing and thoughtfully guided, and I always felt supported and respected during our time together. I truly wanted this to work -- but it simply did not produce results for me. I understand that hypnosis may work very well for some people. It just wasn't effective in my case, and I wish I had known sooner so I could have redirected my time and money elsewhere. If you're looking for a caring practitioner and are curious about hypnosis, she may be a good fit. She listened astutely to everything I shared and also read between the lines, helping me articulate that what I needed to focus on wasn't even actually my career- it was my own personal growth and mental and emotional health. Her questions and carefully developed worksheets are truly holistic, providing an opportunity to reflect broadly on what a more aligned life looks like for you and all your dreams, passions, fears, etc. Yet, as I got clearer on what I needed, I still was unemployed. Laila recognized my immediate need to become financially stable, introducing me to the concept of "transition jobs" and helping me identify what type of work I would be able to do in order to sustain myself while having the time/energy/resources for the deeper personal development I knew I needed. Though it was a difficult process, and I needed a whole support system of friends, counselors, and Laila's holistic approach, I got to work applying for transition jobs. We worked together to create a series of resumes for my different skill sets and Laila honed the language used to describe my experience. She had example resumes and resources that helped me bring life back to my resume, which I had grown deeply disillusioned with. While applying to transition jobs, Laila advised me to apply to as many as possible so I could have the upper hand in making my decision. Still in a very low place, I took the first offer I was given. As Laila could have predicted, I didn't last long (only a couple of weeks). The whole experience helped me realize that I wanted something between a transition job and my dream job, a little more in alignment with who I am. Ultimately, I was given three incredible offers, and Laila helped me negotiate which offers were right for me as well as coached me in negotiating compensation for my skills. If you are somebody who, like me, struggles with imposter syndrome and fully claiming your value, Laila enthusiastically supports you in advocating for yourself. I never imagined I could get the offer I ended up accepting- I am earning the highest hourly wage I've ever earned in a part-time job with full benefits doing the kind of work I want to do (work not usually highly compensated). Throughout the whole process, I always felt I had somebody at my back who believed in me and was available to talk through each interview and the challenges of surviving in such a tough economy, but I also had somebody to celebrate each small win with. Thank you, Laila, for your presence, your attunement, your perseverance toward joy, and your fluffiness! Your support was deeply needed during a very difficult time and brought insights that will change the trajectory of my life. I hope that more people, especially those like me who struggle to live in the system as it is, can work with you to bring meaning to their lives (while also learning to cover the basic costs of getting by)!
