Full disclosure: Megan Taylor is one of my favorite people on the planet, so instead of exposing my personal bias by showering her with superlatives, I'll just write about what her coaching has done for me, and let the results speak for themselves.
I recently took on one of the most ambitious projects I've ever undertaken, as the event director for a dance festival bringing together hundreds of dancers and artists from around the world. I have some experience throwing large parties and hosting events, but I've never taken charge of anything nearly this big before.
Megan has taught me visualization exercises that help me to sense what having run a successful event would feel like, and then to work back from there to understand who I need to be today in order to grow into that person that is going to have succeeded when all is said and done. These are powerful tools that help me to break the cycle of holding back from action because I'm afraid of failure. Instead, I'm able to accept who I am and to find the motivation to do what needs to be done to make things happen.
Megan has taught me the tools and processes to break big jobs down into smaller tasks and subtasks, to categorize them and identify the resources (including people I can rely on) to get everything done. She's shown me how to turn a huge, seemingly impossible goal, into a collection of simple ones. It sounds like a straightforward thing, but for a creative director like me, with my natural instincts to always be considering alternatives and possibilities, thinking through all of the practical matters (and only the practical matters) requires an exhausting amount of focus to ignore all of the other ideas that are constantly popping up. She taught me how to do that easily, so that I can have more time, and better planning, to make my more ambitious ideas come to life.
Megan is great at taking care of business, but she's also one of the most emotionally intelligent, and downright fun people that I know. She works hard and plays harder, and she's planned some of the best parties and events I can remember attending. Megan knows how to take care of herself, and she knows how to spot the issues that are weighing you down before you can even pinpoint them on your own.
And lastly, Megan understands that life is hard for all of us, and that struggling with issues you're dealing with does now make you weak. She'll help you find the strength you need, and to look at your problems in ways that reveal them to be much smaller than you thought they were. She is a powerful woman, and she knows how to help you be your boldest self. read more
