    Pizza (all that was left!)
    David P.

Loved the pizza and the retro vibes. Some really good combos of flavors here. Favorite were the cocktails though. They were absolutely perfect for the summer vibes. Just a great place to grab some legit great pizza (Mexican street corn was my favorite) and tasty drinks.

This is the most wonderful little pizza spot in Hell's Kitchen. I love everything about this place: the decor, the music, the creative cocktails, and of course, the pizza. I read an article that described the restaurant as "millenial nostalgia," so now it makes sense why this place made me so happy. We walked in late on a Friday night and were able to be seated immediately. It's a very small space inside, but there were a number of open tables. I wish they sold pizza by the slice because I wanted to try so many of them. We ultimately decided on the corn to be wild and the don't cry out loud. Both were creative and delicious! I was expecting the french onion soup one to be very heavy, but both pizzas were actually so thin and light. The onions were so sweet, which I liked a lot. What stands out about this pizza though is the dough. It's so chewy while still being very light and airy. This might be my new favorite pizza spot now, but I think I have to come back and try a red sauce pizza to definitively say that.

Really fun vibe w medium loud music, would be fun for Friday night Cool house cocktails too and the pizzas were yummy - though I sometimes wished the crust on the bottom were slightly thicker since it was more well cooked for its thinness ; I liked the dough and the doneness a lot though. SUPER yummy tomato sauce and Caesar dressing Would def come back

Great pizza and the staff was so friendly and quick. We had one pizza and one special pizza (off menu) and they were delicious. We had one called Don't Cry Out Loud which was explained as a French onion soup type and it was DELICIOUS with caramelized onions. The other one was called Straight Outta Calibria and it had stracciatella, n'duja, and lemon - flavors I had never had before and it was amazing. Great date nice place with good music.

New pizza spot in Hell's Kitchen! The pizzas were delicious - we got the special hot harissa honey one and the classic one with the clams and banana peppers. The pizza dough was thin but very chewy. Even though the restaurant was a bit small, the service was great and they check in on you just at the right times.

They sat us upstairs along the balcony overlooking the main dining room, and the decor... honestly, just look at the photo because I don't even know how to describe it The space used to be a church, and it is SO cool inside. Definitely not your average pizza joint. This place is popular -- there were plenty of people eating -- but surprisingly, our wait wasn't long at all. And even with all the bodies in there, it never felt crammed or uncomfortable. We ordered a small pizza and did half Shrimp Fra Diavolo and half Margherita. The Fra Diavolo had a little kick, but nothing crazy -- and this is coming from someone who cannot handle big spice The Margherita had just the right amount of basil and mozzarella, and that crispy crust was exactly what I wanted. Although there was no major cheese pull, it was still perfect. The small was plenty for the two of us and honestly just perfect. We also had a couple cocktails, which were delicious too. I always say NYC food pricing is kind of deceiving. You look at the price and go, "Ummm..." but then the food comes out and you realize they give you A LOT. Definitely felt like we got our money's worth here. Great pizza, really cool atmosphere, and a fun first NYC pizza experience for the husband. Happy Eating, Chass

Bustling doesn't seem to fit, it was packed to the gills. John's is extremely spacious, and even with that much space, we had a substantial wait. The wait was worth it though because they know how to do pizza. The crust just crisp enough, the sauce flavorful, and the toppings plentiful. The service was friendly and quick given the number of people there. For my first trip to NYC, I'd make this a traditional stop for future visits.

Last year, I was at Nothing Really Matters, the bar next door, with a group of friends. Someone ordered pizza, and I had no idea where it came from. I just remember thinking, "Wow, this pizza is really good." That memory stuck with me, so when a friend and I decided to stop by See No Evil Pizza yesterday, I was excited to finally visit. I didn't realize reservations were recommended, but thankfully Ariel, the host, was able to fit us in. Ariel was fantastic - he was friendly, welcoming, and so accommodating despite us showing up without a reservation. Ariel provided excellent service from the moment we walked in until we left. I didn't take any photos, which I now regret, because their pepperoni pizza was salty, addictive, and just really, really good. The pepperoni was crisp, the crust had that perfect char and crunch, and I couldn't stop reaching for another slice. The restaurant is small, cozy, and inviting. If you've been thinking about checking this place out, go for it. You won't regret it.

It is such a cute place that deeply honors its heritage and ancestry, and their understanding of celiac disease immediately put us at ease. They explicitly let us know they use a dedicated oven and explained what pizzas can be made gluten free. They also have a dedicated fryer for all their gluten-free items, which is a massive relief for anyone with strict dietary needs. To drink, I ordered an Aperol Spritz, though you will want to double-check with the staff since a few of their other cocktails are not gluten-free. We kicked off our meal with the gluten-free arancini and a gluten-free Margherita pizza, and the pizza was genuinely delicious. They even offer gluten-free desserts, so we naturally went all-in on the fried dough with Nutella to finish things off. Aside from the incredible food safety and quality, the service and staff were fantastic. They were constantly attentive, clearing empty plates and bringing new ones throughout the meal. If you are looking for a safe and amazing gluten-free dining experience, this spot is an absolute gem!

We started with two fabulous drinks: An Espresso Martini and their signature Limoncello Margarita. We shared the Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad and it was fabulous. The bits of bacon, combined with the spiciness of the pepper spices, made this a perfect starter. The entree was also shared and it was the Spicoli 2.0 Pizza. I cannot recommend this pie, enough. You will taste flavors that you've probably never experienced before with a pizza. Also, the different textures of the arugula, creaminess of the cheese, and the perfect crust will make it a memorable selection. For dessert, we shared the Buttermilk Panna Cotta. Each spoonful of those strawberries, dancing with the firm custard and glaze, made this a stupendous cap to the meal.

RIGHT BY THE DOOR. Do people not realize that putting a bar near a door on a freezing cold night benefits no one? Good thing I did not order alcohol or I would have froze to death. Seriously, none of the pies stood out in grand memory. All I can think of is, well, nothing. Nothing positive anyway. The names of the pies are funny, and the staff is friendly, but besides that, the quality of the food for lack of a better word, dare I say it, sucks. Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. The cutlets are overcooked and dry, and the red sauce cooked with it has minimal tomato flavor. At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. Part of the problem I feel is they are trying to go for a vibe that has a New York and modern feel. It does not work. Stay true to one or the other. Or at least look at other business models. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up. Rather than take the pizza out, I suggest you throw it out. Overall pizza rating: 1.7/5

The first thing you notice is the main bar wall, with its exposed centuries-old brick that has survived every bit of chaos this city could throw at it. It's subtly backlit from with a warm, amber glow that highlights every single historic groove and imperfection, making the whole room look like it's breathing. I have to say the centerpiece of the entire narrow room is the bar itself, and let me tell you, it is an absolute stunner of a contrast. Instead of the usual dark, sticky tavern wood, they've dropped in a long, continuous slab of pristine, elegantly smooth white stone. It glows under the soft lighting like a block of polished marble. There are no strobe lights and no obnoxious, skull-rattling bass in this joint. Instead, the room is wrapped in a blanket of incredibly chill music that matches the pulse of the room perfectly. It's just loud enough to drown out the noise in your own head, but quiet enough that you don't have to scream over the smooth white counter to be heard. People aren't here to be seen on TikTok; they're here to disappear for an hour or three. You slide into a chair, order a proper Old Fashioned from a bartender who doesn't rush the pour, and watch the ice melt against the amber-lit brick. It's the ultimate underground exhale--a perfect, narrow slice of peace in a city that never shuts up. Cheers!
