We bought a 2002 Honda CR-V EX from Sama Auto Sales this last week. When my husband initially met Saad, the owner, he believed Saad was honest and a great guy trying to get his new dealership up and running. He told my husband that there was nothing wrong with the car and it ran great. With those positive comments by Saad and a feeling that he knew the car, we purchased it the same day. The price was only $200 under the Kelly Blue Book price so not a great deal but we believed in the value and the quality of the transaction.
After purchasing, we had a reputable repair shop look at the car and to our dismay they discovered $1300 of "safety" issues that needed to be repaired. The car could have run fine for six months, a week or even a day - but if not fixed - the repairs would have cost $1000's.
My husband called Saad, who refused to contribute a penny. The next day, we sent the invoice to him and asked him to share in the costs - not pay the entire invoice just a portion. He again denied our request but then said if we had not had the work done, he would have taken the car back. Funny, this is the complete opposite of his WRITTEN policy. That stated that if we took the car off his lot, it would have cost $200. In hindsight, that $200 would have been a good choice since we planned on having it looked at by our mechanic.
I would NOT recommend this dealership. Saad has proven himself to be the typical used car sales person -comes across as your closest friend - honest and trustworthy as other reviews stated - but then unfortunately you find out differently.'
DO NOT BUY a car from this company unless you spend the $200 to have it checked out. read more
