Update: After a…read morenightmare experience with our walkway: - majority of bricks were upside down -people were tripping over the bricks that Chris said would "settle" -the wrong materials used -busted sprinkler line due to a stake driven through We finally found a contractor to fix Chris' mistakes! Chris may be good at concrete (I wouldn't know) but DO NOT let him convince you that he knows what he's doing with masonry. This has been confirmed by multiple professionals who have looked at the job that it was a complete flop. Take a look at the updated photos and the bricks speak for themselves. (Same bricks, but by a real mason)

Working with Chris was fine but the price doubled between my original estimate and the final…read moreestimate ($4985 up to $9763) and the work in one area did not actually fix the problem I hired him for. The original plan was to remove/prevent weeds from my leach field and area near house & put rock under an electric fence. When asked about the weeds, Christopher said: "If you do it correctly you'll be able to be plant free in areas that you tamped for a few years. Longest I've been able to keep plants away without adding a cloth weed sheet was 5 years." As of 5/22/24 when I finally just canceled the project because I couldn't handle any more unexpected price increases, the leach field is completely filled with weeds again, so the work just made a different kind of weed grow, but in the same amount. The rock under the fence is more than halfway complete. Here are the details about the price increases if you are interested. Estimate started at $4985, then Chris added $2915 more because he needed more materials than originally estimated. The work was still only partially completed when we made a new plan that would cost me around $900 more to finish the job ($300 labor + around $600 in materials). On the day that work was supposed to start, Chris told me that I needed to pay the materials people directly when the shipment arrived. I called them to pay and they told me the remaining materials would be $1367 for bark and $196 for rock, including delivery fee. That would mean I'd pay another $767 for materials than I was quoted. The frustrating part about each of these increases is that the work is halfway finished, so I have no choice but to switch contractors or deal with Chris again, whose prices go up without advance notice (the materials vendor is the one who told me this new info).

If you are looking at hiring this company to do work for you, I suggest you keep looking. Brian…read moreGaber charges by time and material. His hourly wage is extraordinarily high at $65/hour. He works very slow so his jobs become very costly. Get promises in writing as he conveniently leaves out costly details until it's too late. He bills haphazardly even though in the beginning he says he bills each week. This is concerning as his prices are way too high. He worked on 2 jobs for me. The first job was completed in a timely manner but the cost was triple what he and I had talked about. He failed to mention the pedestal sink he was "giving" me would require extra plumbing. I didn't get a bill until well into the second job otherwise I may have thought twice before hiring him for the second job. The second job I hired him to do was a complete bathroom remodel. This picture shows the job after 3 months and again TRIPLE the cost expected. As you can see the job is still far from done. This job started July 16th and I had to fire him October 9th as he stopped showing up to my job. He lost his electrician a month into the project and one was found 5 weeks later only after I asked for a reference from a neighbor. I thought contractors were hired to find ALL the subs needed for the job, clearly not this one! During this 5 week period he referred to as "a slow time" he started other jobs. After the electrician was finished at my job, Brian still wasn't showing up to finish the work because he was working on a job he started AFTER my job. All I can say is if you want to have aggravation and an extreemly costly experience, by all means hire Brian Gaber's socalled Contracting company.

My home took a reasonable hit after the January of 2021 windstorm which swept through our region, &…read moreso, through a word of mouth referral, I gave Brian a call - and I'm so delighted that I made that call !! All of the process went very smoothly after hiring Brian - from him doing a lightening-fast "rapid response" and demo'ing and hauling away the debris from the damaged sections of my house caused by an old-growth Pine taking out the north side of my property, to having electricity restored to a detached building, to bringing in a skilled mason to repair brickwork to my classic 1920's Audubon brick home, repairing my roof, bricks, down to the underground sprinklers . . . . . Brian handled all of the subs and laborers needed to restore a windstorm-damaged home back to, AND BETTER THAN its original condition!! Roof, eaves, soffits, fascia, window frames, brickwork: all were damaged and required restoration. The home also had a covered enclosed patio which has been beautifully rebuilt to even better standards than the original which was felled when a tree landed on it from the extreme wind. Gates, fences, the works! Passed all City of Spokane inspections, no questions asked! Everything performed up to Code. If you're seeking a contractor who prides himself on doing quality Restorations, or if you need any demo and repairs, I wouldn't hesitate whatsoever in choosing BRICO as your next GC. I find it somewhat confusing, and difficult understanding the one-star review left in 10/2019, when my experience was entirely and positively stellar in an otherwise very stressful period as a proud homeowner. I consider myself to be relatively picky, and I'm quite eloquent in asking for what I expect when I'm paying down thousands of dollars for professional quality workmanship. Brian delivered in every aspect: he arrives to the job ahead of schedule, stays late, and communicates via text and phone equally skillfully . . . . I'm so very happy with the final results . . . . THANK YOU!! and a shout out to Brian Gaber. Top shelf in my humble opinion.
