I was recently consulted and recommended to have a root canal treatment. Since it was my first…read moretime, I needed reassurance about the procedure and billing process. Unfortunately, the receptionist spoke to me in a rude and dismissive manner. She said things like, "I don't have time for this," and, "she doesn't understand," while using an aggressive and unpleasant tone. Instead of feeling supported, I was left feeling inadequate and confused about the billing. I eventually had to seek reassurance from another staff member to feel more comfortable. Overall, the clinical care was acceptable; however, I felt that Dr. Patel could have been more reassuring, especially for patients like me who are going through this type of treatment for the first time. It is important for both staff and providers to take the time to explain procedures and billing thoroughly, and to offer reassurance to patients who may feel uncertain or anxious. Greater care and communication in this area would help patients feel more confident and supported.

This practice has come a long way after taking over from Dr Lynn. Initially I was not sure as to if…read morethey would carry on the good work after Dr Lynn retired, but they have improved it quite and the staff make me feel at home and I am very statisfied with my cleanings and extraction.

Saw a GroupOn for a $69 teeth cleaning, checkup and xrays so I decided to give this place a try…read more What a dive! It's tiny little office, not in the best part of town, with a tiny parking lot that holds maybe 4 cars... so you'll likely be parking on the street. The furniture, decor and equipment are old & worn looking and the receptionist is behind what appears to be sliding bulletproof glass. I had to wait about 30 mins after my appmt time before I was taken to the exam room. The dentist is from West Africa and didn't introduce himself so I thought he was the hygienist until I asked. He seemed to be confused with what to do at first, so I sat there staring at the walls and ceiling while he silently milled around. After about 5 mins, he started lightly poking around in my mouth with one or two instruments. I wasn't sure if he was doing the exam or the cleaning. (I later found out he was doing the "cleaning".) After he finished poking around and doing minimal scraping (for only 5 mins), he told me the hygienist would be in to finish. I thought the hygienist would give me the thorough cleaning the dentist didn't, but she immediately applied polish to my teeth, buffed them, and sent me on my way. (!?) What a rip-off! The dentist fooled with my teeth for 5 mins, then the hygienist polished them for another 5 mins... and that was it! No deep cleaning -- not even flossing! For $69!! They didn't perform a checkup or xrays either! Adding insult to injury, the woman working the front desk, who checks you in & out, was working her first day I believe. She didn't know how the computer system worked so she had to keep interrupting the one hygienist for instructions. Meanwhile I waited for about 5 mins to leave. I've purchased GroupOn's in the past for dental cleanings and checkups and I've always been satisfied and felt I got a good deal. Not this time -- avoid this place. Maybe they were just short staffed this day, but after what I experienced, I wouldn't trust them.
