SO HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!…read more We cannot recommend Pablo and company enough for any landscaping and yard work you may need done! The work this place did was beyond impeccable and we were quoted a price several hundred dollars LOWER than some of the "bigger name" places you may see. PLEASE - if you are looking for any type of landscaping or lawn service (mowing, trimming, edging, mulch/bark around landscaping, aerating, dethatching, seasonal stuff) - please give these local up-and-coming guys a chance! We had some yard work and mulch done and Pablo and company BUSTED THEIR BUTTS, starting the job on a Sunday night literally around 5pm! While we were inspecting things, we couldn't help but notice how meticulous and caring they were with how they laid the mulch (high quality mulch, too) out and did other things regarding our plants and bushes. We even had to walk up to them and say, "guys - this is great but even this meticulousness ISN'T necessary". Hehe. Again, please give Pablo and his up-and-coming company a try, or at least have them out to give you an estimate before you call one of the bigger guys. We can't thank these guys enough for the hard beautiful work they did and how they busted their butts. 6 out of 5 stars!

This has been a really unfortunate experience. Last fall, I contracted with Greenlawn to build a…read morepatio, plant new grass, and install ground cover around a tree in a new enclosure they also built. They were able to do almost all of the work in the Fall, and we couldn't have been happier with the results. They noted they'd need to come out in the spring to install the ground cover, as it wouldn't survive being planted in the cold. As spring sprung, Greenlawn did not contact me. I reached out on April 2 and began a ridiculous game of back and forth until they "completed" the work on May 25. At one point, I was told they were "extremely busy" right now. Considering I paid for this work last Fall, this isn't exactly my problem. The completed work was terrible and it was suggested that "[my] expectation of filling in the entire bed was not realistic." It was not my expectation! The whole project was designed by Greenlawn! I've had to finish the work myself so that the beautiful yard isn't ruined by a terrible finish to this project. Doug seems like a great design consultant and clearly knows his stuff. We couldn't be happier with the brick work and our new lawn, but the absurdly bad service and work to complete the project has left an incredibly bad impression. I wish I could recommend working with this company, but I definitely cannot.

We had a terrible experience with AJ. They came out to do an overhaul of our backyard. We had…read moreinherited a weed filled mess when we purchased our home. Initially we were pleased with the team who did the work and the job that was completed. However, shortly after they seeded for new grass, all of the weeds we had requested be remediated began to come back. They were overpowering the grass seed and the grass was therefore not able to grow. We spent a week calling AJ with no response. We finally got a call back from Carol (owner) after many days who told us we were not taking care of the lawn or following instructions and it was our fault. This was false as we had two sprinklers watering morning and night in each spot where grass seed had been put down. At this point we called AJ and left a message saying we would like to know what we should do as we were not getting grass even though we were following their instructions, and it seemed that the weeds were taking over. They did not call back, and they continued to not call back after we left them a voicemail every day for a week. When we finally did get in contact with them, Jim (the owner) was extremely rude and condescending to me. He said he was ignoring my calls because he had nothing to say to me. He also said stop being so uptight it will all work out. When Jim talked to me he told me he was personally checking our lawn regularly. When he talked to my husband he said he was sending a soil specialist to check our lawn regularly. Not sure which or if either was the truth. They then sent someone a week later to look at the yard and put peet moss down. This still did not cure the weed issue, and in fact fed the issue more, so we continued to call again. They ignored our phone calls once again and we could not get into contact with them. We finally had to take care of the lawn issues ourselves, as we had had the weeds over grow once and we were unable to combat them at that point. We did not want to get into this situation again, and since AJ would not get into contact with us we had to take matters into our own hands. I left them a message stating we would pay approximately 85% of the price since the work was never completed if they would agree we could part ways. They of course never called me back. The last straw was a week after we left them a voicemail about payment. Jim came to my home and was wandering the backyard. I then stepped out of the shower to hear him ringing the doorbell repeatedly and banging on the front door. He did this at least three times before leaving. I was scared to answer the door as his loud banging did not leave me confident that he could resolve this matter face to face without any further altercation. We have submitted full payment to them to hopefully ensure that they never let themselves on our property again. This has been the worst experience in customer service my husband or I have ever received.

I'm sure they probably offer service to most residents of other zip codes as well, best to call and inquire with them. I'm only familiar with what I've seen in my area. Jose's service has been operating & thriving in my area for more than twenty years, despite competition from younger ownership or spin-off start up's. Which I haven't yet had reason to switch too. The lawn service guys are usually in the area from week to week. I like that their boss is usually with them on jobs. So, if you have a specific job in mind, you can discuss that with him and he will work up an order on the spot. There is one price specific to the size of your lawn and the general upkeep of the lawn and bushes (if any). Separate charges for additional work. I.e. a nice garden area around your trees, tree cutting, additional fertilizer sprays, brick work around gardens or the removal of a dying bush. I believe their charges are for a couple visits within a two week span per month and those monthly charges are pretty low in comparison to some of the larger companies whose advertisements you'd recognize from national television. Two weeks per month they are maintaining the lawn and then two weeks till the stuff grows back and they return to maintain. Naturally if you wanted more supervision of your lawn, one could request that. Unfortunately they do not have a website nor do they answer their phones in real time. That being because Jose is usually with the guys on the road and returns calls when possible. On a side note; if you ask for a one time service call to other addresses, they will consider the job. I've had this done, kind of like a gift of a clean lawn to friends that were in dire need of assistance in that department.
