I hired them to cut back two of my neighbor's trees, which in itself can be a touchy matter. Yes, I do have every right to cut to the property line without killing the tree, but these guys don't have to listen to her the day after...and the day after that... While I was occupied with instructions on cutting back a 50ft horse chestnut tree, they severely pruned a magnolia tree by hand on the other side of the property without my knowledge. Yes, this was part of the work order, but had I been privy to the timing they wouldn't have overshot the property line by 3 feet (!) Moreover, they badly stripped the bark on each cut which made *clean up* cuts impossible. Anyone who knows how to prune limbs should know the two-cut method, especially with a pole saw. Geesh. To make matters worse, the foreman (Dennis' brother) complained incessantly to me about the weather and getting to the next job. He aimed a chainsaw at my face (only HALF jokingly) when I complained about the magnolia tree. He knew I was right but couldn't bring himself to admit it. Now that's service ! My advice is if you aren't really concerned about maintenance beyond grunt work, these guys are fine. If you're looking for anyone slightly resembling an arborist, look elsewhere.

I signed a contract and spoke to Miller Landscaping who said my lawn would look amazing this summer (2017) with weekly mowing and weeding with their highest "level 3" service (contract included in my review). They came out in the beginning of April to do the spring cleaning which was quoted at $175. I got a bill for $220 (supposedly mowing isn't included in the quote) and I paid it immediately. I never heard from Miller Landscaping again and my lawn had become a jungle. More than three weeks with no mowing and I was embarrassed my lawn was so long and unkempt. I texted Miller Landscaping over the weekend asking when they'd be out to mow my lawn and wondering why I hadn't received any weekly service as per the contract! Miller was almost double the other quotes I received (no weekly weed removal so I was willing to pay the extra) and the response I got was "go with the other guy I twisted my ankle and I'm one man without a helper." (copy of text is included in my review). Seriously? He twisted his ankle so he just never bothered to show up for WEEKS or call me! How unprofessional! So now I'm stuck scrambling trying to find the other quotes and now I have to spend more because the other landscape companies are now telling me my overgrown yard and weeds will cost me another partial spring cleanup because Miller landscaping dropped the ball. I hate leaving such a negative review but I'm so mad at the horrible service and unprofessional manner in which Miller Landscaping does business. (I'm having trouble posting the pics but I'll try again) Side note: Three days after the spring cleaning was done, I got a text from Miller Landscaping asking if they could come to my house to pick up the check for $220 for the spring cleaning. I thought this was weird, because I never had a landscape company ask to pick up a check three days after receiving a bill-or ask to pick up a payment at all. (This was the first time I'd used Miller Landscaping and the first bill I received from them-this is not a case of a customer having a history of paying late) I'd already scheduled it through my online banking and told him it was already sent through my bank and it might already be in his mailbox. I sign the quote and they say my trees will be treated in 1-2 weeks. 10 days later I email them asking when my trees will be treated. No response. 12 days later I call, no answer, leave voicemail. No response. 13 days later I call again, speak to someone and they said I have to talk to the gentlemen that provided the quote. He then calls me - this is where it gets wonky. He says even though he said in his email he would treat in 1-2 weeks he said that he should not have said that because now was not the optimal time to spray. We need to be further into the growing season when the new growth of the tree is complete and they were laying eggs. That doing it now wouldn't be as effective and leave the new growth vulnerable to spider mites. It was a long conversation as I was concerned and it ended with me agreeing to wait and them saying I can trust what they are telling me and that this is best for my trees. Less than 24hrs from that conversation I get a text saying good news, I am the first stop to be sprayed this morning. What????? Why is there even a truck out spaying anyone if this is not the optimal time? I called them on their BS via text. I was lied to. Don't tell me now is not was is best, we agree to doing it later and then say we will be there within the hour to do what I told you yesterday is not the right thing to do. When I told them this was BS they told me to find another tree company to treat my trees and continued to taunt me via text encouraging me do research on this topic, saying "Good luck with you trees", laughing at my text calling them out. And for the record, I did not swear or threaten them. I did say they were feeding me BS and lying, which I still believe they are. I do not recommend using this company. The Hendricksen Tree Care team did an outstanding job trimming, pruning and removing trees on our…read moreproperty yesterday. The crew worked with efficiency and precision especially while removing large branches from mature trees that were hanging over our roof and deck. They removed several dead trees from our natural preserve making room for several that were overcrowded. They removed all debris and even raked the lawn of twigs and leaves. Our trees look healthy and well-groomed, thanks to Hendricksen Tree Care!
