My go to place for garden plants. They have a wide selection, ample parking, a setup that allows large groups of shoppers to navigate with a big cart and a checkout system that is smoothly ran even in peek gardening season. I do wish they would sell sun paciens in the large plastic 6 packs (like the ones for the wave petunias). They only carry them in the 4 inch pots; therefore, I purchase those at another nursery. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I spent over $300 on flowers and vegetable plants, and within just two weeks, all of them have died despite being properly cared for when I contacted the store, they refused to stand behind their product or offer any type of resolution. there was nothing on my receipt indicating that the plants were sold without and warranty or guarantee. ironically, I have purchased flowers from many different locations like jewel for one that were significantly less expensive and lasted MUCH longer. based on this experience, I feel I did not receive the quality i paid for. because of lack of customer service and refusal to address the issue, i will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. I expected much better quality and customer service support, especially after spending a significant amount of money on garbage. They have an amazing selection of plants and trees. I've purchased from them many times. Back in June of this year I purchased a tall corn plant and a beautiful bushy umbrella tree plant; spent over $200. Both plants seemed to be doing well in the beginning (week 1-3). The umbrella tree from the very get go started dropping leaves. Then the corn plant's leaves started turning yellow and brown. I removed both plants from their pots and added orchard bark to the soil mix. The umbrella tree plant had 4-5 "roots" and the only 1 survived. The corn plant, we are still struggling with. I have many plants at home. It definitely is not lack of care for these two particular plants. I called Pesche's to tell them the problem I was having and asked if I could return the plants and exchange them for healthier plants. Nope. They do not guarantee their plants; their do not accept returns or do exchanges. I've purchased from Lowe's, Home Depot, Costco, Lurvey's and they all have an entire year guarantee! They will refund you the money, give you an in store credit or exchange the plants/trees. Going forward, I will not be returning to Pesche's. read more

Very VERY angry and disappointed in this Flower shop today! Over a WEEK ago I called and spoke to a staff member who assured me that she could get my mom's favorite flower in time for her birthday today. She's 87 and loves Gardenias. So I called the shop in PLENTY OF TIME for them to accommodate my request. Then this morning I called to check on my $100 floral order. Welp, I was told working on it, then I get a call back from the store hours later stating that they are sorry but the flowers that the supplier sent them were brown and dead. The woman stated "I can't in good conscious send these Gardenia flowers today because they are brown not white. Now mind you this floral shop is notoriously overpriced to begin with and they had 6 days to get this order right, instead of saying that they would refund me for the inconvenience they just offered nothing. So disappointed, now my mother doesn't have the gift I wanted her to have because I trusted the wrong flower shop! I will never ever order anything from this place again! Pesches should have offered a refund and sent an arrangement for free for not placing my order correctly. Even after I explained how important it was that she receive this particular flower. How much she loves them and they still ruined my gift giving experience! How incompetent. I would not TRUST them for anything ever again because they don't stand behind the product they sell! Your a floral shop and a big one and you can't find a Gardenia that is in season now I might add! Hundreds of them in Florida and you had SIX DAYS!!!!! FURIOUS to say the least!!!! read more

The best place for your gardening needs!! So much better than the big box retailers. They have so many options of annuals, perennials, bushes- you name it - they have it! They had many employees working while I was there on a busy Sunday morning, so I quickly got help when I needed it. They are a bit more expensive than what you would pay at one of the big box stores, but supporting a local business is definitely worth it in my eyes! read more

It was okay, but I was here during winter and so I'm not sure that we came in at the best time. They did have a nice sale going on--50% off of their holiday stuff, including trees, four days before Christmas. I was looking for a Christmas tree but I couldn't find anyone around to help me with them so I had to leave. But I've been told that once spring has sprung it's a great place to plan your garden so I will return to check it out then. read more

Absolutely a wonderful place to spend some time shopping for your home or garden. There is nothing you can't find at this location. During my visit they were setting up the Young poinsettias to bloom in the greenhouses. Everyone that works there is very kind and helpful. They have an absolute huge selection of plants, shrubs, trees,seeds, etc. some things are a little pricey, however they do have a sale section and some items are marked down 30%. read more

A container full of green leaves with NO buds!! I've used Peches for over 35 years. They are the best. We have used their floral shop for weddings and funerals, for birthdays and other special occasions. We've used the garden center for all our outdoor needs and their gift area is filled with usual treasures. I ordered a poinsettia plant today to be delivered tomorrow. I came to Pesche's on 5/5/22 and NOT ONE of the plants was wearing a mask! They obviously don't care about Covid! Then again, they're plants, so they probably care only about dirt and water and sunlight, and probably not any of my or your drama (gasp). They have lots of expensive plants here. I have no idea if they're a good deal or not. They looked all green and whatnot and not at all dead, so that's a good sign. Like seriously, there are miles and miles of plants, annuals, perennials, trees, flowers, shrubbery, indoor tropical varieties and gardening doodads inside and outside. There are roughly 45 greenhouses, 23 parking lots, and one idiot who can't count (spoiler alert: me). Spousey poo dragged poo poo me all around through the rain to find mumsy the perfect non-mum green gift. We found something after the 18 mile trek. I hope that she likes it. Don't mind me and my gloomy rainy day outlook! People are nice here, maybe even nicer than the plants. They're more talkative, anyway, these people. Anyway, go to Pesche's. You'll love it. Or hate it. I don't know you, so I can't predict that. read more

Wanted to order a tea rose bush for delivery as a sympathy gesture and wasn't sure about FTD. Because I didn't know if, or how this might be possible without making the trip to visit their inventory, I called and a wonderful salesperson walked me through my options and completed my order (all by phone). Yikes, its a "quiet" Monday mid-day and there's traffic police for the parking lot and a full parking lot! After perusing and selecting our choices amongst a gazillion very reasonably priced annuals and checking out at one of their 8 registers, I had two thoughts. One thought was that this place was like an efficient military operation, and it probably needs to be to handle their volume. The other thought was "don't ever come here on a weekend" as I shudder to think of what it might be like here, ha! My moms has been coming here for a while and today we had a pretty poor experience. My mom is a gardener, designer, and owns her own flower shop. She knows what she's doing. She bought willow bushes from here for the garden and after 4 days they looked like this. I hate giving local businesses bad reviews but we walked in and they don't let you return flowers/plants and have a strict policy behind it. The lady was very adamant and kinda rude then kept looking the the other way like she didn't care. However she's just doing her job and if that's policy that's policy so I'm not gonna dock the review for that. Maybe have a 3-5 day return policy? I know most nurseries do that. read more

Flower Power! Pesche's is a decent place to buy flowers in the Des Plaines area. I wanted to order a semi-custom flower arrangement for a birthday and they had one that looked like a birthday cake, but completely made from flowers. It was really cute and actually lasted a couple weeks before going bad. It would have been just as expensive or even more had I ordered from one of the big flower delivery places, but I do think Pesche's is definitely not cheap in price. Many people are price conscious, so you may get a better price at one of the larger home and garden centers. I don't have any major complaints, but there's a couple things I didn't like or thought they could do better. To start, they have a couple buildings along with some tents or greenhouses in the parking lot. They're all spread out, so parking is a mess. It's hard to find parking on a weekend, and there's really not proper directions, leaving patrons to drive all over the place which can cause accidents and frustrations from other patrons. The second thing for me is almost the same as the parking lot but inside their building. When you walk in it's hard to tell which way you should go and no one to greet you or help. Since I ordered online and only came in to pick it up, I was looking for a specific area for the custom flower arrangements and walked around for 5 minutes trying to find it. Once I found it I was good. I did like that they custom fit a box for my arrangement and the whole thing looked really nice. If anything, they should invest in a way to make the parking lot directions and inside the store directions easier for customers. read more

Was there on 3.24.21 FOUR employees not wearing masks ‍ The ironic thing is there are signs up everywhere demanding customers wear masks, and even directions on how to wear them properly. When I asked the girl checking me out about it, her reply was "I can't control what other employees do." Wow. This is the most inconsiderate behavior I've seen from a business during all of covid. We just left Pesche's and the gentleman at the Help Desk was extremely helpful and very pleasant. Showed us our problem on a big computer screen. Childhood memories have me associating this place with two things - great selection of plants and family fights. When my parents bought their house, my mom got really into gardening. She had a vision of making it a family affair, carting me and my grandma to Pesche's on Mother's Day for flowers and plants. If you've ever been on Mother's Day, you know it rivals Black Friday-like chaos with police managing the traffic, etc. My mom would bark directives at us and zip around in a frenzy trying to get everything she wanted. Needless to stay, her directorial style left a lot to be desired and frequently we would arrive home not speaking to one another. Flash forward several years and now I have a yard the I need plants and soil* for. We took a ride out to Pesche's because I knew we would have a great selection of plants; especially things like heirloom tomato plants. Fortunately, we steered clear of the holiday weekends so it was busy, but not chaotic. Plenty of people were there to help us find what we needed and I was satisfied with the depth of selection they had. Nothing is ready for picking yet, but everything is looking good. I expect this will be our go to place for vegetable plants going forward; I've yet to see a place with a better selection. *Don't call it dirt, they don't like it when you do that. read more

Parking is the worst here. It is very overwhelming just from the start. People everywhere with their cart full of flowers, and flowers, gardening stuff, everything else related to flowers, everywhere! I didn't look at the prices of the flowers but if people are crazy buying in bulk, I'm guessing they are fairly cheap. It took a while to find anything we needed because there's so much happening with no signs. Also there weren't many that was helping out people where everything was. The checkout station was fast but that was about it. There is a police that directs the cars out of the shops which I thought it was definitely in need of this place. read more

I've been going to Pesche's for the last five years. They are a family owned business with a task master at the helm. There is always someone there that is knowledgeable about particular plants and they will happily call them over for help. We've bought wonderful plants and consistently find good deals. There soil amendments like fertilizer are pricier compared to their nearest competitor and they don't have as much to choose from. But they always have some unique and classic plants and are a reliable source. I'm okay that store's style is outdated because the layout is good and easy to find products. My only criticism is their customer service over the phone. I was at Lurveys and called about some proven winners annuals and perennials and they told me that they didn't have them so purchased substitutions. I decided to go buy there anyway for some herbs and when I got there they had most of the plantings I had called about, that was disappointing because this was a commercial project with many plants. This was my most recent experience. I like that they are a family owned business with a hundred year history and wish them the best as they focus on developing their business and customer service. read more

As somebody stated in an earlier review, Pesche's was always my go to place for flowers. I've spent a lot of money there, and we buy a tremendous amount of flowers. Last year my flowers from there started dying, and I had to go back somewhere else to supplement flowers that had died. Due to Pesche's 's return policy, I could not bring them back. I thought it might be a fluke, and so I went back. I bought some snapdragons, begonias, impatiens, a cigar plant, hanging baskets and a few other accent flowers. Again, begonias, snapdragons, and impatiens and the cigar plant died. Some flowers in my hanging basket also died. A few made it, but I had to go somewhere else to supplement for those flowers. Pesche's is not what it used to be. I don't know what they're doing differently but the quality has dropped and is very disappointing. read more
