shWent here with the neighbors on a Friday night. They'd made reservations and we were immediately seated. This place gets crowded so it's good to make reservations ahead of time. The atmosphere is very nice, with dim lights and a nice bar and located inside a main building in Camden with other little stores along the hallway. We placed our orders for drinks, 2 wines and 2 margaritas. I'll say that the margarita is one of the best I've had. We ordered the regular margarita...they have special margaritas with the more expensive tequila, which we've tried in the past, but in our opinion the house margarita is great for a lower price. We ordered the trio queso, salsa and guacamole dip with chips for an appetizer. Their queso is some of the best! The quacamole was also great. My wife and I have a hard time with their entrees. I ordered the beef burrito with queso and a side of refried beans. My wife and neighbor split the three taco (shrimp) and split it. My wife said described the taco as being "just edible" and would never order them again. My burrito was basically full of beef with some queso underneath the beef (but inside the tortilla). No queso or any salsa on top of the burrito. I wouldn't order it again. It seems we've had this problem in the past but have continued to go back because of the atmosphere, great margaritas and appetizers. I know their flauta appetizers are very good. It used to be that 99% of the entrees had queso dip on them. I see that they have changed so now many of the entrees have a salsa or different topping rather than just queso. Wish my burrito had the queso on it this time, instead of being just plain! If you go, make sure and have a margarita. Service was good. Atmosphere is great. Food is just so-so. read more

The family was in Camden to see our grandson play a football game against the local high school and needed a place for dinner and Salud did not disappoint. They have great Mexican food and the empanadas were exceptional! Not many places have empanadas so I get them every time I can. Those and the poblano rice was all I needed. My wife had the Taco Salad that she loved and shared a couple bites. All of us had good things to say about their meals. We can here last Friday night and it was such a cool place to eat. I'm from Camden so I remember all the stores that were in this location. The restaurant is such a nice remembrance of all of them. The decor is wonderful. Such a fun feel to it. I highly recommend reservations. Even though we had reservations, we still had a slight wait for our table. We finally got seated, however 3 tables that were seated after us got their water and drink orders first. .... just saying. The Guacamole with pineapple that we ordered was awesome! So glad we tried it. I do want to try the plain guacamole next visit. Their free chips and salsa are also good. (A little bit spicy). I ordered the burrito with the chipotle and pino on the side. (Glad I did because I get heartburn quickly). It was fabulous. We also ordered the refried beans, but were too stuffed to eat them. The place is really cool. And such a fabulous tequila bar. I'm dying to go back .... I'm ready for the heartburn. It's definitely worth the drive from Columbia. Sorry about the 4 stars, but I hate waiting for Service. We will be back soon though! If I rated this place just on the food it would have been 5 stars. The initial wait for service was a fail...... We have been hearing about Salud for some time now and decided to make the drive to Camden. We called to make reservations Friday afternoon and found they were booked till 8pm. Having set our minds on Salud, we went ahead and confirmed the 8pm reservation. Upon our arrival we were greeted promptly and were told our table would be ready shortly. It became apparent that our table was part of a large group that walked out as soon as we arrived. It was nearly 15 minutes before we were escorted to our table. Not a big deal, we had made our reservations same day and knew they were busy. Once we were seated we watched as 3 other tables were seated, drinks ordered and delivered. Why the time the 3rd table was served, I moved into that "if no one comes in the next 5 minutes we are moving on mode". Just as I was ready to leave, our waiter appeared. From this point on it gets a lot better. Our drinks were handled and he encouraged my Bride to step out and try the guac with pineapple. Glad he did, it was awesome. Not something I would have thought to try but it was really good. Our waiter continued to educate us on the menu and we settled on our entrees. My Bride ordered the Burrito Poblano - chicken, poblano peppers, onion, mozzarella, black beans and rice topped with the sweet agave nectar chipotle salsa on the side. I ordered the Enchiladas Verdes - chicken enchiladas topped with poblano cream sauce and queso fresco. My Bride really enjoyed her burrito but was not a big fan of the chipotle salsa, she was happy she had ordered it on the side. My enchiladas were awesome. The chef here has done a great job elevating what really good Mexican Food looks and tastes like! I actually was surprised by this spot. Granted, we didnt try the tacos but the chicken empanada was good as well as the quesadilla and enchiladas. Service was slightly slow but our waitress was pretty nice. Everything was cooked to order. One thing I would have to change is the low, low lighting. For people in Columbia reading this: Salud is 100% worth the drive to Camden! We took a small field trip for dinner because we heard wonderful things about Salud and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is in a unique space in the middle of what looks like it may have been a shopping plaza. You can still see inside some of the stores that surround the restaurant so it's. a bit odd at first. Salud is decorated beautifully though and has a warm glow during dinner. We ordered the roasted pineapple guacamole to start. I know it sounds odd but it was delicious. The sweet kick from the pineapple was actually a nice surprise to an excellent guacamole! I ordered the burrito loco. It was perfection. Chicken and chorizo with refried beans, rice, queso and salsa. It was the best burrito I'd ever had. I had such a nice time and loved the ambiance and food so much that I'm making plans to go back for my birthday! read more

Walking in the front door you feel like your walking into one of the many pocket restaurant on the streets of Mexico. You're greeted by a cast iron gate and instantly your taking to another land. As we set down we was immediately welcomed with ice cold water in disappointing little shot glasses, as if I'm a small child... Drink selection was great, and very informative. Food menu was very simple and easy to explore. I ordered the Baja Tacos in which if I'm honest I have a high standard, they wasn't the worst fish tacos I've ever had, but what was the worst was waiting 35 mins and being in a constant battle of chips with no salsa & salsa with no chips , which were both basic. It might not have been such a battle if Sergio would have taken a break from flirting with the other waitresses and actually taken care of his tables. Food was pretty good tonight, but not as good as it used to be. It has always been more upscale and thus more expensive than most Mexican food in the area. It used to be worth it, I'm not so sure now. However, the main reason for my 2 star review is the attitude we encountered. My wife and I sat at the bar on a couple of open stools. As soon as we sat down we were asked to move because those were the seats of an "important regular" who had just called and said he was on his way. We were clearly NOT important to the staff of this restaurant. Also, one of the managers responded with disdain when we mentioned the possibility of a frozen margarita. I guess we aren't as sophisticated as the "important customers". Bottom line, we were clearly considered second class customers and treated accordingly. But the $90 I spent for four drinks and dinner was just as green as the "important" customer's money. Needless to say, they won't be getting anymore of mine anytime soon. read more

There is a reason why this place has 5 stars. The food is PHENOMINAL! I moved from Southern California a year ago and have been on an endless search for a good Mexican restaurant. My coworker suggested I try Salud so my boyfriend and I drove 30 miles from Columbia to test it out. This place is spot on! A Younger gentleman served us the last time (I think his name was Sergio?) and was very accommodating and left our chip baskets and water glasses full the whole time. Even when I left my to-go box on the table, he still made the nice gesture of running it out the door for me. My boyfriend and I had the mango salsa, guacamole, and we each had the street tacos, Mexican flag shots, and lots of cucumber margaritas for me.Every single item was a 10/10 and I am not exaggerating. Parking is great. Ambiance is great. Menu is priced appropriately. Bathrooms are clean. There is never a long wait (at least since I've been there). Service is always awesome. I can't wait until they open up in Columbia, as I will probably come here at least once a week. read more

A coworker recommended this restaurant so when I was around Camden, I decided to give it a try . I love love authentic Mexican food so according to the yelp reviews it looked promising The place is not visible from outside ; it's set up in the middle of a shopping building so I was glad I found parking spot by the door. It was Friday around 5 when we arrived, the maitre D who greeted us told us that because it was Friday they would recommend reservations? I was not happy with table that she had available but I was willing to over look it if the food and service was on point. I am glad that I didn't leave because it was worth it. The waitress, Amanda, was outstanding! My kids ordered street tacos and I got the crab enchiladas. As appetizers we got nachos with cheese, yum! I really like that they mix black and yellow tortillas chips. My food ( crab enchiladas) doesn't come with any side dish so I ordered black bean ($3 extra) which were delish. I love the fact that they used real crab meat and not imitation in the enchiladas; the flavor was enhanced by the sauce, enjoyed it so much. My kids got cheesecake bite for dessert recommend by Amanda ; they love it! All in all, I am glad that I didn't leave. Maybe next time will make reservations. I was recommend this restaurant by a friend from Arizona, who stated that this was"real" Mexican food. Being from Southern California I know "real" Mexican food, but so does Arizona... So I figured I would give it a try. I was not disappointed!! The salsa and food was amazing. My husband ordered crab enchiladas and they were absolutely delicious! I got fish tacos, which were good, but my husbands dish was better. For those of you that are tequila lovers they have the largest selection I have ever seen. Ok. This is definitely my favorite Mexican place north of Mexico! I've had several meals but let me tell you about the last lunch I had there. Burrito Veracruz- One burrito with sauteed shrimp, onions and red peppers topped with queso sauce, avocado and pico and a side of black beans for $8.00. It was huge and I could have split it with my gf if I was being such a piggie. I would also recommend the simplest margarita on the menu to begin such meal. The ingredients are fresh in the food and the drinks. Don't be overwhelmed by the great selection of either...just come back and enjoy something different each time! I love sitting at the bar (although the chairs are a bit heavy to move around so once you get situated stay for awhile) when there is just two of us. It is fun to watch the bartenders making all those crazy margaritas! The atmosphere in general is nice and the decor takes you far away from the feel of Broad Street straight to a breezy Spanish cafe. Besides the bar, I've gathered with friends for appetizers and flights of tequila. There are couches for for a comfy hang out atmosphere upstairs or round booths downstairs.
