This relaxed restaurant and tequila lounge is absolutely amazing...plan to spend at least a couple of hours here enjoying drinks and the fabulous food the highlights of my evening were the Anejo Crush cocktail and the Salud Margarita...followed by their guacamole fresco, shrimp ceviche as appetizers. This is some absolutely delicious Mexican food. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The bar is stocked with a huge variety of tequilas. These can be ordered by themselves and come in a champagne flute-like glass. Or they have some outstanding margaritas to choose from. They are a little pricey but absolutely worth it. The oaxaquena is my favorite. The salsa that comes first is good, the guacamole is even better. I've had a few entrees, they were all good. The mole enchiladas were great. The appetizer kebabs are perfect. My only concern is the portions. The entrees are a bit small, but when I leave I am satisfied so I decided to go with a 5* review. read more

We were traveling to Camden to adopt a rescue dog during Covid and were REALLY dying for Mexican food. We live in Orlando and sadly we have no outstanding Mexican restaurants here. We called in a pickup order, took it back to our hotel and were BLOWN AWAY! It was incredibly good. I had the shredded beef deep fried Frito burrito. The best shredded beef I have ever tasted. The shell stayed crunchy until the last bite. The pico and medium salsa were fresh and very tasty. My husband had the shredded chicken Norténo (?) burrito and was equally impressed. The chicken was not dried out, it was seasoned perfectly and you were able to taste each ingredient in each bite. It was not just a basic one favor chicken burrito that many places serve. The chips were also incredibly delicious. We had planned to stay 2-nights but we came home the next afternoon instead. However, we went back and had the EXACT same order the next day for lunch and it too was PERFECT! Now we need excuses to go back to a Camden!! read more

I found the food just okay. The atmosphere is great, and the service was good. We had the street tacos and some guacamole for our chips. If the food had been salted (both the steak in the tacos and the guacamole) it might have made a big difference, but there weren't even any salt and pepper shakers on the tables, none of them that we saw. Not sure what that's about. The one exception was the poblano rice; it was EXCELLENT! Otherwise,...meh. I'd like to try it again because I feel like it could be better. But that old saying about only getting one chance to make a good first impression comes to mind. read more

We were really excited to try this one but they wouldn't seat our party. We had reservations for 14, but when we arrived they wanted to seat 4 of us away from the rest. There was an empty table right next to us but they kept insisting that table was reserved. We tried to resolve but in the end they said their owner would not allow them to put a reservation at the corner table. So rather than seating us altogether and putting the other party at the corner table (who wasn't there yet), they let our whole party leave. Bad business. read more

Came here for drinks on Saturday night and I'm so happy that we did. When I entered the building I was confused at first, because inside what looks like a refurbished market or shopping center. That may sound strange, but I promise it's not, just take a look at the photos. The decor and location of the restaurant make it that more interesting. It's very hip and unique, I love the ambiance here. We sat at the bar and had margaritas. I can't remember the exact name of my margarita, it had cucumber, jalapeno and a spicy salt rim. It was so fresh and easily the best margarita I've ever had in South Carolina. The bartender was very knowledgeable on the tequila they had and shared a story with us about a trip he took to learn all about tequilas. He was very helpful, my friend and his dad enjoyed talking with him about his tequila adventures. I live in Columbia, but I would drive to Camden again just for another one of those margaritas! read more

I would love to give Salud a review for their great food but we didn't get that far. My husband and I went in this last Friday at 5:15. We asked for a booth as there were several booths and tables empty. We were told they were all reserved for 6:00. Seriously we could not be seated at a table that was reserved 45 minutes later. I'm sorry but I feel I'm being generous giving them 3 stars. I won't be going again. We found a different restaurant in the area and gave them a 5 star review. read more

Absolutely ridiculous experience. I attempted to visit Salud on a Thursday evening at 7:50 PM. We only wanted a table for 2. When we asked the hostess how long the wait would be she looked at us and said, "I don't know." The owner had just finished yelling at her. She asked him how long our wait would be. He told us 45 minutes. There was only one group in front of us. That is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a table for 2. Very disappointed. We've eaten here before and the food is good but overpriced, and I'm not sure we will ever be back after observing the rude behavior of the owner. read more

Waiter was not pleasant spoke under his breath, took 10 minutes after seated to acknowledge us. I had to ask for chips and salsa not automatic. Super excited to try this place. I wasn't let down. Walking into the place felt like we were walking into a totally different place. The atmosphere is so awesome. We started with the piña Rita and wow, it was amazing. Possibly the best margarita I've ever had. We each had different meals and both of which were fabulous! First let me start out saying that I live off of Yelp reviews. I've been to many restaurants all over this state because of them. Since it had high reviews, I decided to try it out. The atmosphere: A. The music was a little loud but hey, I could live with it. Service: B. He was good but busy and a little forgetful. The food: B. Good and tasty. The price: C. This is where my issue lies. I have no problem paying for great food and service. The price of the food was understandable. It was the drinks I had the issue with. Like food, I don't mind paying for a good drink. However I like to get what I paid for. I ordered the Salud margarita (lime). I was served in a glass the size of a a teacup when I got the bill, it was $9. I ordered a couple. So keep that in mind when you look at that drink menu. All that being said: I will be back, but with a new appreciation for that drink menu and salud margaritas. read more

A surprise find in Camden, SC! The food was delicious, well-presented and the service by our server Miranda was outstanding. I had Burritos Vera Cruz, 2 burritos chock full of shrimp with a cream sauce and a slice of avocado on top. The bride had 4 tacos with lump crab meat contained therein. The house Margaritas were excellent, too. The decor was quite a surprise also and quite different from what would normally be the case in Camden, I think. Food is amazing. My rating is because of the hostesses. Seriously, every time we go there they have some issue. I tried to make a reservation at 5:01 today. She said they quit taking reservations at 5:00 PM. Other times we've been told we couldn't sit at a booth for 4 with 3 adults and 2 small children because the booth was made for 4. We weren't pulling up a chair or anything- just sitting two small children where a large grown up could be. Not a fan. Stopped in for an early dinner and was met by a surly, unpleasant, unwelcoming server. The place was basically empty yet we waited and waited for someone to take our order. Had to ask for our server twice since she never came around. After being charged $21.50 for a margarita I'm quite sure there are more welcoming, affordable places to choose. The bathroom was just plain disgusting. I will say the food was good...not $80 good but ok. Definitely won't bother going back. read more

We stopped here traveling home from vacation at Myrtle beach. Seen that it was on an exit and I'm very glad we stopped to try it out. It was hard to find for us being that it was inside of a building with other shops in it but once we did we instantly loved the atmosphere. My husband had chicken enchiladas and I had the burrito frito and they were both delicious. Kevin was our waiter and he was very polite and had great service even when it was very busy. This is a nice looking restaurant but the service is extremely slow. Over 20 minute wait for a mixed drink. The food was ok but nothing great. In fact one of the party I was with could not eat their fish tacos as the fish was dry as rubber. I would recommend a pass on this place. I will not return. Salud is hands down the best Mexican restaurant around the area. The atmosphere is great, the food is amazing and they have a ridiculous amount of tequila. It is not a large venue and it gets very busy on the weekends, so manage your expectations when it comes to how soon you'll be seated. Probably get a reservation. Ditto to all the other reviews. The only thing I'd add is that if you go on a weekend night, make reservations. We assumed it would not be necessary, but we were asked when we arrived if we had them. We did not, but there was a table we could occupy if we would be finished in 1.5 hours. I wanted to say that our speed in finishing would be entirely dependent on how fast we'd be served, but I didn't think it necessary. Turns out it was. An hour and ten minutes after we were seated, with no food in sight (don't get me wrong- we'd been devouring the amazing chips and salsa with an order of queso) my husband went to inform the hostess that, in fact, we may NOT be finished by her deadline because we'd not yet been served. We weren't complaining, mind you. The atmosphere was fabulous, drinks outstanding, and company was terrific, plus those chips! My preference would have been NOT to blow through three servings of chips out from hunger, but, still, not complaining. Our food cane shortly thereafter. I had the enchilada soup- oh my stars! It was amazing! I'd also ordered the chili rellano but couldn't eat it after all those chips and the hefty portion of soup I'd been served. No worries- that's what husbands are for! His burrito was spot on, and our companions quesadilla and shrimp tacos were reported as exceptional. We drove from Columbia based on the reviews, and we will be back. Next time, though, we will come early enough that the cute shops around the restaurant will be open. I spotted several things I need to have! Cute area, beautiful decor, delicious food. You must make a reservation bf 5 pm for that night's seating. Place is busy and deservedly so. Quinn (ken) manager/bartender/server was the driving force behind our great experience. I haven't experienced such unique drinks in 25 years in the service industry. Ken is a master mixologist with a firm grasp on quality delivered consistently. The food was not to be overlooked either. It's just that sometimes you have a drink and it is similar to something you've had before. Ken's drinks charted unfamiliar territory every time. Not used to saying this but I can't find fault with any part of my meal. Do yourself a favor... get here. Try the pineapple guacamole or ceviche. Hell, it is all good. Loved the street tacos. Very authentic Mexican. The reason for the low review score is due to cost. I love good Mexican, but a margarita and 4 street tacos are not worth $30. No way. Your pricing is way out of line with your food. Service was good, quick and pleasant. There are other places for tacos just as good or better than yours for much lower prices. Salsa was good, but for the price could you give the customer enough for 4 little tacos? And the one little lime wedge, I had to ration among the tacos. Geez apparently $30 doesn't buy much these days. I'm glad I tried it, but I won't go back unless they get their prices under control. read more

Best Mexican food we have found in the whole area. My husband and I enjoyed lunch here today and it was delicious. The food was so good, drinks were good, we even had dessert, all delicious. First of all the place was dark like a nightt club or a speakeasy and not at all like a restaurant. The lady who seats you has this air of pretentiousness and never cracks a smile. The waitress was nice and friendly unlike the one who seats you. It is so dark that you have to use your flashlight app on your smart phone to read the menu. The burritos are tasty but they are the size of a Mcdonalds Breakfast burrito. Stepping out of the restaurant and going to the restroom is like going into another dimension. I must assume that most folks who have given this place such a high rating never visited the restroom. Let me put it this way. Lets assume that you woke up on that toilet . there is no air conditioning and there is a window just above your head that is flipped open to allow ventilation into the room. There is toilet paper stuffed onto the cracks between the wall panels and the frame to give you some privacy. Now assuming that you woke up in this shit house you would assume that you would walk out the door and be in some mexican truckstop in El Paso Texas instead of some high end cakery and giftshop that is also in the same building with the restaurante, It truly is like traveling through time. read more
