We returned to the store about 3 hours later the same day to explain the issue and request an exchange. We were told they would not help because we brought it back "3 hours later," even though it was never usable and was defective from the start. The timing was only because we had already paid for beach parking and secured our spot, so we tried to set it up right away instead of immediately leaving and losing the parking and setup area. As soon as we realized it was defective, we came back. This wasn't buyer's remorse or normal use... the item was unusable from the moment it was opened. Very disappointing experience and no resolution offered for a defective product.

The employees walk past you with their heads down, looking miserable and are not helpful at all. I felt very awkward after asking a young lady for help. Both of my kids couldn't find anything in a kids size L (10-12) and in women's, I could only find smalls & mediums in tees, cotton shorts and hoodies. No beach bags either. Lots of baby stuff though. Their tumblers and water bottles were all very pretty; that's the only thing they have going for them. What a disappointment. Then there's the upstairs apparel section of the store. I found nice hats, gloves, home / boat decor, and a beautiful heavy duty thermal my man loved. Me and my wife were down to the island this past weekend and had a blast out in fort fisher. We went in to see if they had supplies to repair the line and I guess the guys working there overheard me and my wife talking and offered me a ride to the auto parts store. I thought kindness in this world was gone but I was wrong they took me there and brought me back and assisted me in finding the clamps I needed . These are a great bunch of guys that work here. This was an amazing surf shop!! Very cool merchandise for everyone. They had amazing deals and…read morequality products. And the staff was so incredibly welcoming and friendly. Other places we went in Carolina Beach the employees were rude but literally every single employee at this shop was so kind and welcoming and friendly. As soon as we walked in they asked if we needed any assistance and were so pleasant to work with and shared some cool stories from their local surf spots. I will definitely be going back when I return to Carolina Beach.
