Once again we picked up all kinds of wants (snacks, more flip flops) and needs (a hairbrush) at Maxway. The cashier was super nice, as with our previous shopping experience here. We probably spent too much time in the store because there's so much to see in this place. That's probably how we ended up spending buying more than we intended here too. :) We'll be heading back to Carolina Beach this year. Maybe this time I'll buy a new swimsuit at Maxway. They had lots and lots at pretty decent prices.

Currently the closing is being held up due to legal battles between the city, Harris Teeter, and Public's. As far as I am concerned I hope it stays tied up and Maxway stays on Carolina Beach. I have been a resident since 2011, and they need to let the citizens who live there have a say in what we want. There is too much of the same stuff on the island. Maxway is the only place aside from the recent expansion of Dollar General that has different stuff and reasonable!! I myself want support a Publics, it is to expensive and I pass 100 places on my way home every day. So much odd and end stuff that you want be able to get on the island once they close Maxway. Citizens and vacationers should flood the city council board with emails and hand written letters.

After having my daughter, finding a bra I liked has been impossible unless it's Lululemon. And lulu sports bras don't always work under tank tops and dresses. I was greeted by Lisa and told the whole store (besides the underwear and one type of bra) was 40% off, ending today. I had already seen the prices of a few of their bras after I had came in and was pleasantly surprised they were a little cheaper then VS, and SUPER soft. Felt just like my "cloud" lulu bras. After planning on only getting one bra, I left with three that all fit me perfectly. Lisa helped me with sizes and wasn't overbearing. Very informative. As if I was working with family. She rang me through the register and signed me up to become a member so I could get the 40%. I'll definitely be back.

BUT I took the underwear home and cut the tags off and washed them before wearing as any normal person would!! On 4/26,less than a week later, I went to put on one of the 10 pairs I had purchased and they tore at the leg opening. I live 40 minutes away but took them back that day and was treated horribly during the entire exchange (receipt says her name is Diana). She was condescending and proceeded to tell me they don't take back things without tags and I said well I cut the tags off and washed them and went to put on and they tore. She huffed and then went to find another pair as if I was the greatest inconvenience ever. And then as she does the exchange she continues on with her condescending tone and says (as if to make sure I never ever do this again...now mind you the stores product tore with normal use and I just drove 40 minutes one way to return them) that they will not take items back that don't have a tag but because it's defective she will. The whole episode was so off putting that I don't think I will ever return. It's a shame because my first encounter was so lovely and she was so helpful. This second lady shouldn't be working in retail if she feels the need to treat someone who obviously spent almost $200 just a few days earlier like that. Very disappointing.
