Booking a facial at this "spa" will go down in history as one of the worst decisions of my life…read more When you arrive, there is no area to relax or change, you simply walk through a sweaty gym locker room directly into a crowded and cluttered service room. The room where we scheduled to get my facial was full of multiple chairs, and pieces of equipment; the table was crammed up against the wall and felt like a freezing cold gurney. I scheduled a 50 minute facial with an enzyme peel and specifically asked that nothing stronger be substituted based on my skin care regimen. Aesthetician ignored my concerns and requests, and without further discussion used a full strength chemical peel that has resulted in severe chemical burns in multiple places on my case. Even as the peel was on, I told her I did not feel right and it hurt too much (I have had several peels in the past) and my concerns were completely ignored. She told me what I was seeing was "frosting" which is normal; no, what I was seeing was my skin peeling off of my face within minutes because the burns were so significant. The pain and disfigurement from the facial right now prevents me from working for several days and will take intensive dermatologic care to correct. Aesthetician was rude, reckless, and should be let go immediately. What happened afterwards Made things even worse. I was supposed to have another service 30 minutes later, but could not get anything to eat on the resort because every restaurant was closed. I asked the next provider be notified that I could step off of the resort and find some food for the first time that day - instead the entire service was canceled. This was truly the worst spa experience of my entire life. The only way to salvage this place would be to raze it to the ground and clean house from the aestheticians, to the front desk, to the management. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I don't live in or near St. George, but when I am in town I make an effort to come here. This particular visit began with a Swedish Massage by Lacee, then a Signature Microdermabrasion Facial with Teddy, a Pedicure by Kelly Ann and finally a Shampoo and Style with Amanda. Lacee did a great massage paying particular attention to loosen some of the tight muscles in my neck and shoulders. She is not only highly competent but also a genuinely nice person. She also took the time and cared enough to inform me of some tips to help keep my muscles relaxed in the future. I will definitely be asking for her in my future massages at Aquae Sulis Salon and Spa. The Signature Microdermabrasion Facial was the second or third Teddy has performed for me. Oh, how I wish I could come in more often for these. My skin looks and feels so much better after this procedure. Teddy is so proficient in her ability to analyze and know exactly what service/products to use. She is easy to talk to and explains each step of the treatment. And then off for the relaxing pedicure with Kelly Ann. I always feel like I'm walking on pillows after her pedicures! This time, she did shellac with some glitter on my toenails and they're absolutely beautiful. With the shellac, they'll look that way for months. It's so much fun to talk to Kelly Ann, she is such a sweet person. My time at Aquae Sulis ended in the salon with Amanda for a much needed shampoo and style. This was the first time I had met Amanda, but as I suspected, she was so nice and very skilled. I was thrilled with what she did with my hair. Not only did the style look great, but whatever products she used to shampoo made my hair feel great for several days afterward. I am definitely going to need to ask what products they use at the salon and get some. I have always experienced friendly and competent professionals at Aquae Sulis Salon and Spa and only wish it was closer to where I live so I could come in more often. Their prices are great, the service is awesome and the Salon and Spa are beautiful.

The young woman who checked asked us in wasn't able to find our appointments on the schedule and asked us to wait while she retrieved the spa supervisor to see what they could work out. I wasn't optimistic at this point as they only have 2 pedicure stations and a guest had just gone back for her 1:00 p.m. pedicure. She went back and forth a few times to confer with the spa manager who finally arrived, acting put-out, and quizzed me about how I had made the appointment (by phone 3 days before the appointment), whether or not I had received an email confirmation (I had not and, to be fair, should have been concerned about that). Then the spa supervisor indignantly told me that there was "no way" my appointments could have been made by Sagestone's staff because the guest who had just gone back for her 1:00 p.m. appointment had booked her appointment on June 28th. As if I was lying to her? Then she placed blame on me for not being suspicious about no email confirmation. Again, my mistake; and honestly, I wasn't really upset about the mix-up until the spa manager came out and was so hostile to us. In the end they offered us separately booked appointments for later in the day, which after the way the supervisor had treated us, we refused. I get that mistakes happen yada yada but when they do the staff should at least be polite - ESPECIALLY someone in a management position. I was pretty shocked by the way we were treated today. I won't be back. Ever.
