Based on the breeders direct feedback they noted the puppy "will be on the small side" which we wanted as we already have two other golden's. Well our dog is now 5 months old and over 15 pounds and still growing. We spent an additional $1k to receive a smaller dog to add to our family. Mini Doodle Dogs uses other breeders which they do not advertise on their site which is also misleading. We engaged them multiple times directly as we paid a higher cost for a micro and they continue to note "refer to the contract" regardless of how they promote the sizes on the companies site. We love our new puppy but wanted to highlight the companies lack of proper communication and helping to resolve poor advertising around the type of dog they are selling. I would hope this direct review creates additional dialogue around this issue

The vet said "this wasn't uncommon in older dogs", and said it was just "older dog shape". His liver values on bloodwork were "a little high". He ended up passing of liver failure less than 8 weeks later. We just took our other dog to a new vet - who found multiple issues that Brookside had overlooked (severe arthritis which was written off as "older dogs get stiff", and an ear infection the new vet described as chronic, likely there for at least a year). We had trusted Brookside to care about our animals. They made it very apparent that they can't be bothered anymore.

The trainer who worked with my dog was helpful and professional, and I appreciated the time he spent with us working on a few commands. I purchased the $1,399 training package, but my dog is not reactive and ended up only needing about three commands. During the training process, the trainer also offered to do a single training session with my puppy because I was wary of using an e-collar on her. I did not want to purchase a full package for her because I suspected I might not be comfortable using that training method. After that session, I decided that approach was not something I wanted to pursue for my puppy, and I was glad I had the opportunity to see how she responded before committing to additional training. A few months went by and I still had not received the new remote that was supposed to be provided or any information about the group classes that were part of the program. At that point I reached out to the company simply to discuss the situation and see if the owner might be willing to work with me on a partial refund since my dog did not need the full program. I was not upset and only wanted to have a normal conversation about the services I paid for. Initially, I received no response to my messages and had difficulty getting anyone to return my calls. Tyler later texted me but was already defensive and told me to stop contacting the office. I tried to explain that I only wanted to discuss what I had paid for, but the responses were dismissive and rude. I was confused because the company advertises lifetime support and a no questions asked money back guarantee, so trying to reach someone should not have been so difficult and his reaction was not warranted. Since texts can easily be misunderstood, I decided to call him directly so we could have a normal conversation. Unfortunately, the conversation escalated immediately. The owner began yelling from the start of the call, accused me of stealing services because of the single session with my puppy, and would not allow me to explain the situation. He escalated the conversation to the point of threatening to call the police and pursue a restraining order. When I asked him to please calm down and listen so I could explain the situation, his response was that he would not listen and that he does not do business with people like me. He hung up on me and continued to text me insults and accusations. At that point he refused both continued service and any refund. What disappointed me most was not the issue I originally wanted to discuss, but the way it was handled. I only wanted to have a calm conversation about the services I paid for and the policies advertised on their website. Instead, the discussion became hostile and my character was attacked. The trainer I worked with seemed knowledgeable and professional, but my experience with the owner was extremely negative. Based on how this situation was handled, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering this company make sure they clearly understand how disputes or refund requests are treated.
