We came to this restaurant for lunch. They're located right by the marina, they have inside and outside seating however the inside portion isn't completely closed so the AC doesn't really cool as well and they don't have any ceiling fans inside. This is Florida, it gets really hot here, especially when the kitchen is open and right next to the dining area. At the very least they should have fans to help keep things cool inside. Aside from that our meal was pretty good. We started off with some raw oysters and a tasty fish dip. The fish dip is served with crackers, pickled onions and jalapeños on the side. For our main entrees we had the grouper which is served with rice, sautéed veggies and a hushpuppy as well as the shrimp and grits. Both were very good, the fish was so fresh and perfectly grilled. The grits were so creamy and the the shrimp had a mild kick. They have a full bar and they serve wine, however if you'd like to bring your own bottle the corkage fee is $15. read more

I sincerely thought this would be my last review on Yelp; but, I see that I have had more check-ins before year-end, so my work still isn't finished. I wanted to finish on a high-note; and, I will. But, Salt Cracker Fish Camp was one of the year's highlights, for having such a wonderful lunch, gulf-side outdoors with great food, drink and service!! My wife ordered a Gypsy cocktail (Bacardi Limon, watermelon Schnapps, blackberry, sprite) and I had the Gulf Stream (Tito's vodka, grapefruit juice, cranberry juice, simple syrup, lime.) We decided to split the Cracker Tower, which featured oysters, fish dip, and peel and eat Shrimp. The seafood was excellent and the presentation was wonderful. For mains, we opted for Po Boys, one fried oysters and the other fried shrimp. Both were terrific, packed full of flavorful seafood; and, large enough that we took half back to the hotel to have for supper. I had a draft beer with my meal. My wife had another Gypsy. I also ordered a Kai Lani along the way (Mango Rum, Amaretto, Blue curacao, fresh lime juice, pineapple juice,) but, that part is a little fuzzy in my mind. What isn't fuzzy, is the fantastic service from Cathi J. She was a true hostess; and, made us fell welcome, relaxed; and, she took great care of us. We tipped about 50% to wish her a Merry Christmas. Great hidden curb appeal, pretty much on the water and fresh caught fish right off the boats, docked next to the patio. The staff is friendly and give off a good vibe. Pretty sure I met the owner when my menu fell off the bar and he was the one to pick it up, leading from the front. Nice. The patio and bar are the best seating available and that's the spot to seat for sure. The menu is obviously seafood Forward and they do a good job giving options. From oyster and fresh caught fish they have the best overall casual seafood place to eat in this area. The Fire roasted oysters were a great pick. The Cracker Cracker Shrimp was a good Buffalo style shrimp, but not a show stopper. Honorable mentions are the following mentions. Peal & Eat Shrimp Southern Wedge Shrimp Po Boy Jumbo fried Oysters King Crab Look this area is littered with average disappointing tourist traps, Salt Cracker is not one of them. This spot was a beautiful place to enjoy dinner on our last day in the Clearwater area. The service was quick and the food came hot. Again our apps came with our entree (why is that???) but our Low Country Seafood Boil stayed hot while we ate our hot shrimp. The drinks were delicious as well. read more

Stopped in to this restaurant for a quick bite to eat and a drink. My husband and I sat outside under the umbrellas. It was beautiful. Our server was super nice and helpful. Came here for dinner and was hoping to catch some live music while sitting outside. They weren't crazy busy but still had a bit of a wait for a seat outside. Wish we had known the entertainment was ending shortly, otherwise we would've just sat inside but was not informed of that (IMO, this was an oversight by the hostess... there's a good chance someone indicating they want to sit outside wants to listen to the music). Anyway, we started with the jalapeño & corn hush puppies and the fish dip. Both were a solid 5/5 stars. The fish dip was fresh mahi and so good. Given are generous portioned appetizers, we decided to split an entree... the grouper tacos. This is where this place fell flat for me. The grouper was good, but the corn tortillas were awful. Inedible in my opinion; I ended up dumping the inside out and ditching the tortilla as it ruined the flavor. I wouldn't rule out coming back and trying something else on the menu (would def come back for appetizers) but the tacos really turned me off. It was a beautiful day to come to Salt Cracker Fish Camp! We sat inside, but it had a feel like we were outside because is the glass and the open air bar on the side. When we sat down, I was a little worried because there were flies swarming around the table, but as soon as we all sat down, they disbursed. I had the Grouper tacos. The fish was juicy and tender and had a nice flavor. My accompanying fries looked suspect at first, but they were actually pretty good. I had a Bloody Mary which had a deal of 2 for $9 at the time. This is a tough review for me to write for There were four of us, and three out of our four meals were very good. One of our meals was cold, and they did offer to remake the meal however, it would've taken too long. I ordered the coconut, shrimp appetizer, but was brought the coconut shrimp meal. The service was lacking in my opinion. Our server was kind enough, but he did not check in. We had to find someone else to tell them that our meal was cold. And once we did that, we barely saw our server ever again. My bottom line is that I would recommend the restaurant, and hope that you would have a better experience than we did. DELICIOUS!! My friend really wanted to eat a whole red snapper fish & saw that this restaurant sometimes had it on its special's menu! They luckily had one left & it definitely got other people's attention once it came out. I originally wanted to order the Grouper Cakes but unfortunately they didn't have any left that evening (totally understand this happens when it comes to fresh seafood restaurants!), so I ended up having the Cracker Scallops instead and was so glad I did. Everything was so well flavored that it made every bite so enjoyable, I didn't want it to ever end. My friend's mom ordered the Low Country Seafood Broil & raved about how much seafood there was and how flavorful the broth was that she went and complimented the chef directly. I'm going to knock a star because upon arrival at the host stand, we were first seated at the tables off alone near the parking lot. Upon asking for a table overlooking the boat docks, of which there were many (we were doing early dinner around 4PM) the host said something like, "Oh, um, we're only supposed sit parties over there that... um, uh, never mind it's fine." And then sat us where we wanted.
