So, IYDKNYK that I only give a 5-star rating when the bathroom is clean because I feel it reflects how clean they may keep their kitchen (and their bathroom didn't disappoint). On to their food. A casual atmosphere with friendly staff. Order your food, sit where you like, then wait for them to bring you your tasty meal. I opted to try tacos filled with Al Pastor, Carne Asada, & Carnitas, in addition to trying their refried beans & rice (see pic). They had me at homemade tortillas! The meat was as lean as you'd want but not dry. The b&r had flavor but went too salty. The cost was better than expected.

Decided to get to know the parent company of Le bistro salt n pepper in Modesto. In the small city of Patterson this place did not disappoint. Food was great, Luis Miguel background music was a hit. This place has more potential because of the space available and its uniqueness. Definitely coming back!

Edit: I spoke too soon. About 30 mins after eating I started getting a horrible stomach ache and have been in the bathroom ever since :( HANDS DOWN, BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN PATTERSON! Tried this place for the first time today and it knocked my socks off! You get SO much for the price and the quality of food is excellent. The carnitas is moist and crispy without being greasy and the carne asada is tender, lean, and flavorful. Finally a spot that gives you good cuts of meat instead of fat and gristle. The carne asada fries were our favorite. The fries were flavorful and stayed crispy. It was more than enough food. We have leftovers for later! We will be back for sure and will recommend this spot to others!

Driving to SoCal and rather than stopping at a fast food joint, we decided to look up some good Mexican food. We found this gem!! Not exactly off the freeway, but totally worth it!!!!! The menu is elegant, with lots of your typical dishes to choose from: burritos, tacos, tortas, etc. What stood out for me is that they have keto options. You can get tacos with a fried cheese shell!!! Or lettuce wrapped. The hubby decided to get chilaquiles and I got the taco salad. We both opted for carnitas. Let me tell you! Not only were they beautifully plated, they were DELICIOUS!!! So good! Fresh ingredients and they do not skimp. Carnitas was fried to perfection. Taco shell was crispy. Rice was flavorful. Beans were good. Everything was just chef's kiss! They had 3 aguas frescas to choose from: hibiscus, horchata, and pineapple. I'm not a horchata fan but dang! That was good. It was not a mix. It was real. Service was easy. They hand you a menu and you can sit while you decide, but you do have to walk up to order. The person who helped us was professional and friendly. We placed our order and the food came out after a short wait. The restaurant was clean and roomy. There were a few tables to sit at. The decor is contemporary and hipster home. I felt like I was at someone's house. You bus your own table. I'm fine with that because they use real dishes and silverware vs polluting the earth. Thank you for that! Price was on point. Free drink with check in. Yelpers... you gotta come and check this place out!

Wow-this place is a gem! They have handmade tortillas that were fantastic. We ordered the Carne Asada fries, shrimp taco, and the quesabirria tacos. Delicious!!! we were driving from LA to San Francisco and wanted somewhere yummy. To this city boy, this place is in the middle of nowhere. It's 10 minutes off of the freeway, but it is so worth the extra time. Give this place your business and enjoy the food!

I've never really been to Patterson before but this restaurant is A-1. I found it on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. No regrets! I got the super burrito with Pastor and it was to die for. I can't lie, I was very surprised but you can't judge a small city until you visit. The burrito was one of the tastiest burritos I've ever had. The workers were so friendly and made sure we were taken care of. The inside is average size for there's plenty of space to sit but parking is usually on the street.

Called in my lunch order as we were picking up our car from a shop nearby. I STILL LOVE Salt & Pepper and eat here a few times a month. Normally it's Alex or Jessica at the counter, as always excellent customer service. At this point, they feel like old friends. Quality ingredients that meld together for amazing flavors. Still ordering my favorite CA burrito no pico and the lulu tacos for my husband. He LOVES their green salsa. Great flavor but a little too much heat for me. I jokingly say Salt & Pepper is top 5 death row last meal options for me. I occasionally order something else, it's all been great but the CA burrito has a hold on me. First time there since the last restaurant was there and i must say, they did a make over in this place. Luv the look inside and the outside dining as well. I heard many good things about their food. We ordered the keto tacos, asada fries, and a al Pastor burrito and all of it tasted the bomb! Definitely will go back again to try other menu items. Just moved to the area and my fiancé and I stopped in for a quick lunch while exploring the area. The place looked closed from the outside but we surprised how cute it was on the inside. The staff was so welcoming. I had the carnitas taco and decided to order another one! Seriously the best taco and tortilla I've ever had. The tortillas are handmade. We will definitely be back! Great food with great service. Have ordered both burritos and tacos of Asada and both have been amazing. Meat is of excellent both times and all ingredients were fresh and delicious. I know there a lot Mexican places in this small town but I have to say this place is definitely one the best .. the atmosphere in there is way different but in the best way. If you are going down Hwy 5, this place is worth the extra couple of miles to downtown Patterson. We love their take on Mexican food, super fresh, full of veges and beautiful presentation. The shrimp tacos and Carne Asada tacos are delicious, so are the burritos. Super cute and modern little restaurant with nice patio with succulents. We have been there twice, it was great both times. I simply loveeee this place and they know me by name as soon as they hear my voice. I would probably eat here 4 days a week if they had door dash but they don't so when I'm passing through the town I stop always. Such friendly humans and my order is always correct. Those damn deserts are the best ever but I can't seem to catch them in the restaurant much anymore. Try the Quest birria tacos.... I loveeeeeee this place! read more

Terrible service, it is sad to see how this place was born with excellent customer service and what they have turned it into, the food is of poor quality, the rice is dry, overcooked, the beans heated for several days.. The cleanliness of the place was completely different than when they opened, before there was a person in charge took great care of the customers who were satisfied, he opened and closed, when he left, the quality of the food and the customer service went down. I have to give it a star, but honestly they don't earn it. That person who was in the time they opened, they should bring him to fix their mess that they have.. read more

Places like this are VERY frustrating. Their hours are posted on the door and on Yelp saying the restaurant closes at 9pm. Tonight, driving home from LA, we decided on this place to stop and eat. We arrived outside just now at 7:30pm on a Saturday and the sign says "we are closed." Soooo frustrating. Inconsistent hours = unreliable = never returning. BEWARE. read more

Burrito was amazing!! Rice were fresh and not sticky. Chicken was moist and well cooked. Could taste all the ingredients without sauce overpowering everything. Chilaquiles were also crispy with one of the best done beans I've eaten. Only critique would be the eggs were over medium when asked for sunny side up but they tasted amazing nonetheless. I am writing this review for the outstanding customer service and food. I have eaten here 3-4 times before and each time the food had been nothing less than amazing. Today I came in at 720 and ordered some food. There were disgruntled customers inside complaining about the wait. I'm not sure how long they waited but I do know that even though they were saying rude comments, the staff all stayed calm and worked through it. They have A1 customer service. The staff (I'm assuming owners and their daughter) offered free drinks or dessert for the wait and repeatedly apologized to the customers who were eating. In the end everyone got their hot fresh food. read more

Ordered carne asada tacos and a carnitas taco salad to go. The tacos were excellent and decent sized. The taco salad had a good portion of carnitas (there was no skimping on the meat) and tasted great! Definitely look forward to trying out more of their food and thankful that a restaurant in Patterson is still open during COVID-19 pandemic. Would love to eat-in after things return to normal. Restaurant had good amount of seating and a great atmosphere. A huge plus for Patterson! read more

One of the best places to go in this town. I've had a couple of things on the menu, the burritos are huge and the cheese grilled onto the outside of the tortilla is a nice touch. They're really polite so I always give them a tip for their kindness. It's a taco truck sometimes it's really noisy and sometimes it's quiet. It's a great spot for some great food

Both were delicious and if I had to recommend one it would be the Mexican scramble! Instead of adding ketchup I ordered two sides of green and red sauce, which I added to eggs. YUMMY! The beans and rice side was so comforting. It came with two tortilla chips in the beans. I initially ignored the chips but decided to try and they were actually yummy! I ended up eating more chips from plates that didnt touch them! I'd def come back and because the refried pinto beans were good I'm planning on getting a bean and cheese burrito mojado! The place is huge with plenty of seating. The service was kind. I heard the chef know who I assume was a regular guy picking up his order by name which was nice to see how they treat repeat customers. Other customers who dined in made an effort to say bye to the chef too when they left. Overall I'd recommend if you're craving Mexican food!

An absolute hidden gem! This restaurant is an absolute must-visit! My husband and I stumbled upon this amazing restaurant during our drive to LA. Although it's not conveniently located right off the highway like another review has mentioned, trust me, the additional ten-minute drive is absolutely worth it, especially if you don't fancy the usual fast food options like me. From the moment we entered, we were captivated by the restaurant's charming ambiance and modern design. We placed our orders inside and eagerly waited for about 10 minutes before our food was ready. I opted for the fiesta salad with chicken, and let me tell you, it exceeded all expectations. The salad was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. What impressed me the most was the generous portion of chicken! I appreciated that so much. Usually when I order a salad, I regret not asking for extra meat because I'd have so much green but not any more meat to eat with it (lol). My husband ordered the carne asada burrito with shrimp (extra $ of course). The burrito was grilled, resulting in a delightful crunch that enhanced its overall taste. I think I'd ask for my burritos grilled from now on. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. The food is not only delicious but also prepared with care and attention to detail. Combine that with the inviting atmosphere and modern decor, and you have a winning combination. Great food with great service. Have ordered both burritos, tacos and taco salads and all have been amazing. Meat is of excellent both times and all ingredients were fresh and delicious. Handmade tortilla with the taco was an added bonus. Decor was great and will eat in soon enough definitely recommend this family business for takeout or dine in. read more

Horrible. They kept telling me 20 minutes, and then another 20 minutes, and then another 20 minutes. They had me waiting there for 2 hours and then had to re-order. They need a better system. read more
