I came by this place twice, months apart. Both times a sign on the door said something to the effect that it was closed for remodeling or some such nonsense. I won't bother checking again since it's fairly obvious that this place is permanently closed. read more

Fresh Mexican food served in a clean spacious environment. Even the bathroom was clean, well supplied and nicely decorated (but one toilet). I had the keto bowl with chicken and especially appreciated the grilled veggies that went along with it and the light amount of shredded cheese. My husband had the chorizo taco and a chicken al pastor taco which was served in freshly made shells that he enjoyed. We've tried a lot of Mexican restaurants and it was nice to eat at one that didn't have too much cheese and salt. read more

So Bummed. my Latino brothers and sisters this place ain't for you if you got taste buds. Not sure how this place has over 4 stars.the guy at the front is not very customer friendly. Doesn't bother to check if seated guests are ready to order. Btw If you eat here you need to order at the register. Which I dont mind but host should communicate that with guest. I had the red chilaquiles with birria. I'll admit the food plating was nice that I give 5 stars for presentation. My plate looked pretty. However, food quality was subpar. The meat was dry and had no seasoning. It also wasn't hot it was lukewarm at best. Chips were soggy. Also got their watermelon agua Fresca which when I asked the cashier what flavors they had he shrugged his shoulders and basically told us find out ourselves. lol like bro wtf. At least have the drinks labeled. With that being said, I didn't think they could mess up with agua Fresca but these people did smh. It was thick and syrupy. So, IYDKNYK that I only give a 5-star rating when the bathroom is clean because I feel it reflects how clean they may keep their kitchen (and their bathroom didn't disappoint). On to their food. I opted to try tacos filled with Al Pastor, Carne Asada, & Carnitas, in addition to trying their refried beans & rice (see pic). They had me at homemade tortillas! Tried this place for the first time today and it knocked my socks off! You get SO much for the price and the quality of food is excellent. The carnitas is moist and crispy without being greasy and the carne asada is tender, lean, and flavorful. Finally a spot that gives you good cuts of meat instead of fat and gristle. The carne asada fries were our favorite. The fries were flavorful and stayed crispy. It was more than enough food. We have leftovers for later! Driving to SoCal and rather than stopping at a fast food joint, we decided to look up some good Mexican food. We found this gem!! Not exactly off the freeway, but totally worth it!!!!! The menu is elegant, with lots of your typical dishes to choose from: burritos, tacos, tortas, etc. What stood out for me is that they have keto options. You can get tacos with a fried cheese shell!!! Or lettuce wrapped. The hubby decided to get chilaquiles and I got the taco salad. We both opted for carnitas. Let me tell you! Not only were they beautifully plated, they were DELICIOUS!!! So good! Fresh ingredients and they do not skimp. Carnitas was fried to perfection. Taco shell was crispy. Rice was flavorful. Beans were good. Everything was just chef's kiss! They had 3 aguas frescas to choose from: hibiscus, horchata, and pineapple. I'm not a horchata fan but dang! That was good. It was not a mix. It was real. Service was easy. They hand you a menu and you can sit while you decide, but you do have to walk up to order. The person who helped us was professional and friendly. We placed our order and the food came out after a short wait. The restaurant was clean and roomy. There were a few tables to sit at. The decor is contemporary and hipster home. I felt like I was at someone's house. You bus your own table. I'm fine with that because they use real dishes and silverware vs polluting the earth. Thank you for that! Price was on point. We have been coming to salt and pepper for a couple of months now. We love coming here for their Asada fries. My fiancé and I always split our plates so one of us always gets the Asada fries and the other gets something else on the menu. We've had the taco salad, Asada torta, flautas, Birria tacos and the fish tacos and we've been happy with every single item we've received. The horchata is super yummy & they occasionally have a cucumber agua Fresca as well and it's super delicious. The service is fast and friendly and very helpful. The decor inside is cute. I've never really been to Patterson before but this restaurant is A-1. I found it on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. No regrets! I got the super burrito with Pastor and it was to die for. I can't lie, I was very surprised but you can't judge a small city until you visit. The burrito was one of the tastiest burritos I've ever had. The workers were so friendly and made sure we were taken care of. The inside is average size for there's plenty of space to sit but parking is usually on the street. read more

Normally it's Alex or Jessica at the counter, as always excellent customer service. At this point, they feel like old friends. Quality ingredients that meld together for amazing flavors. Still ordering my favorite CA burrito no pico and the lulu tacos for my husband. He LOVES their green salsa. Great flavor but a little too much heat for me. I was here at Patterson for work at a local pharmacy. I asked the ladies at the pharmacy, when I finished my work for the day, where a good place to eat around here is and they all said "Salt & Pepper," which is was a block away. So I visited this lovely restaurant to satisfy my hunger and I was greeted with the utmost courtesy. I asked "what is a local favorite?" and the kind lady at the counter stated that the Queso Birria Tacos were the way to go - so I ordered two of them. Holy **** these were one of the best tacos I have ever eaten. I wish I could have ordered more, however I was already stuffed! I order thru here frequently when I have a taste for Quesa Tacos are one of my favorites but for some reason they never seem to put enough lemon wedges and side grilled onions and jalapeño peppers for the 3 tacos I order. There should be one of each for each 3 tacos. They only put one lemon wedge a few onion slices not even grilled and one little slice of jalapeño pepper . Just ate here. Absolutely delicious. They've been getting to go orders non stop since I sat down and there's no question as to why. Everything was perfectly cooked and flavored. Tortillas are handmade and I could probably just order like 8 of those and be satisfied they were so good! Patterson is a city with a lot of options for taquerias and taco trucks. Each establishment is known for different items. What I really like about Salt and Pepper over everyone else is the cleanliness of the restaurant and the taste of their Super Burritos. The service is always good and the inside decor is nice but unfortunately only open for takeout and outdoor dining due to Covid. The food is very fresh and satisfying. In my opinion the Super Burrito is the best in town. I do order it without meat and add avocado but it's perfectly made with a layer of cheese melted onto the outside of the tortilla. Although I have not tried them, my son is addicted to their Birria tacos. The tortillas are hand made and you have the option for either blue or yellow corn tortillas. This is a great addition to the options here in Patterson. Looking forward to the time we are able to dine inside again. Highly recommend. read more
