I initially was evaluated by Dr Cherrick and have been seen by his NP then Juliana Buendia PA…read more She is an amazing person! I always feel heard (which is not something you get from healthcare professionals these days) I experience chronic debilitating pain from several compression spinal fractures and she gets to know you as a person. Not a lot of people have to take opioids, and I've experienced healthcare providers, pharmacists treat you as if you're some addict. I wish all healthcare professionals had even a small amount of compassion that Juliana always shows her. The front desk area has numerous windows but it seems like 1 or maybe 2 sign you in and make appointments..it seems like workflow could use attention. The plastic windows that came from Covid times can make it difficult to hear or be heard by staff, not any fault of the staff. Privacy could be better because if it comes to billing issue etc, it seems like the entire waiting room can hear your financial situation. Billing department is great as I have had to set up payment arrangement and that discussion shouldn't be something the entire waiting room could hear. I guess the physical changes of how the front desk could be angled and off to the side would be better for privacy and confidentiality. (Like the McLean office) I hope this sounds like constructive feedback and by no means any complaint because I simply couldn't function without the amazing treatment that I've received from Juliana and the entire team! Thank you!

I haven't even bothered to complain about my experience, because she's loud and rude and I know her colleagues can hear her. So, they obviously do not care. In addition, I waited 45 minutes past my appointment to be seen at my recent visit. If you have the patience (or no other choice) know that the service improves once you leave the lobby. The doctors are thorough and professional.

Nancy may be an asset for those of you besieged by chronic pain caused primarily by…read moresitting/lying/standing in bad positions. That's about the only "positive" I can say. I know Nancy wants to help, but she had me in tears by our 3rd appointment. By way of background, I have been diagnosed (yes, officially, by real doctors) with multiple herniated discs, myofascial pain syndrome and fibromyalgia. Nancy did not "believe" that herniated discs can cause pain (ever) or that I had fibromyalgia (which often accompanies myofascial pain syndrome and painful conditions of many kinds - either fibromylagia or central nervous system sensitization problems.) Her approach was too simplistic and harsh for me. She wanted me to sit a certain way and lay in bed a certain way AT ALL TIMES and of course, this dramatic overnight change caused a big pain flare (like, huge) because yes, you're retraining your muscles to support you in ways they're not used to (and that's a positive) but doing it so suddenly and without cease is very hard on those muscles. She has no sympathy for this. When I told her I had to take more prescribed pain medication because I couldn't get through my day (school/work) at a desk sitting up completely straight in this one position, she told me that anyone who takes prescription pain meds is an "addict." I told her i was not that, because I was using the meds to ENGAGE in life, not to check out and "get high." I told her that responsibly using prescribed pain medication to function is NOT SAMHSA's definition of an addict, and I did not appreciate being called this. She was also rather angry and harsh with me verbally (and even physically on the table at one point - doing trigger point work - she put her hand over my mouth to shush me). She would become incredibly frustrated if I would so much as talk about having fibromyalgia too, or herniated discs (which my MRIs show) etc. and of these being factors in my pain as well. She called me a "victim of medical imaging technology." She told me that if I didn't trust her and her process completely and implicitly "this won't work" (about getting pain free), and this was after a week of having met her. This was brought on by my attempting to discuss the type of pain flares I was having and how there may be a hormonal connection - in order to further silence me. She told me pain was in my mind. She also brought her religion into it and gave me a Christian book she reccomended (i think she gives them out to all patients?) She told me to "just dance away my pain" (to get up and dance whenever I was in severe pain. She became upset when I applied chapstick in her office (?!) When I asked what kind of ergonomic chair i should buy for my home, she snapped at me to "use my head." I found myself arguing with her and asking her to please speak to me in a kinder manner so much during our 3rd session that it just wasn't worth my time. I think it's easy for those of us with chronic pain to want to believe that sometimes "tough love" will help us overcome very difficult and complex conditions. We have "tried everything" and so are willing to buy into some level of "no pain no gain" strategy. But Nancy's approach can be harmful, psychologically and otherwise. I DID take some helpful information from her - about how to sit, stretches to do, and to eat less sugar and more veggies. But the general harshness wasn't worth it. Crying in so much pain that I could barely breath and then being called an addict for taking the pain medication I need to function, and being spoken down to and blamed for the pain (and told the pain didn't really exist and that i didn't really have the diagnoses I have) - yeah, no thanks!! Oh also, I was told by the Certification Board for Myofascial Trigger Point Therapists (CBMTPT), after contacting them to see what the deal is, that she is NOT certified with them, despite what she has listed online.

Please follow his advise and you will be back to living your life and being yourself again. Not all conditions and people respond the same way to medications and he works to find the most appropriate healthplan and medications that will work best for you. Dr. Greene is a kind soul and born to be a doctor. In this day and age with much regulations doctors have to monitor and this practice takes that seriously. I wish I had the right insurance or funds to self pay and be able to see him again. He's the best pain management provider I've been treated by. He also has a highly talented and educated staff working with him. I'm no stranger to pain. I was a heptathlete from age 10 to 24 and twenty plus years later have much arthritis throughout my spine knee and shoulders to show for it. I've survived 2 car crashes into my car and a moving truck collision headon into a tree during a bad storm in which I suffered broken teeth and severe soft tissue injuries, sjc joint dislocation and vertebral strains that took over a year to treat and still being treated. I've had about 12 surgeries over the years to include my back and knee. So I understand pain from patient's perspective very well and how it can take over your life. I understand pain because of my Masters degree in biology: molecular science. Dr. Greene knows how what to do to get you back to your goals. I hope you will get to be seen by Dr. Greene. He takes time with each patient and really listens to each patient. Dr. Greene continuously researches to find innovative and the best treatments for his patients. So if there was anything negative, be prepared to wait an hour to two to be seen. It will be well worth it. Hope this review helps you and to your good health.

And as I was answering he repeatedly kept interrupting me, for example with that question I was about to say I wouldn't be here if it worked and he interrupted me mid sentence to ask 'why haven't you tried injections?' He didn't even let me answer either, I have answers for all the questions he asked but I couldn't even say them because he interrupted me so much. In general felt he didn't care and I had even told him I don't get nerve pain and without much examination of me prescribed some random nerve pain medication. I questioned this and he said 'If this doesn't work we will only prescribe something similar'. Complete waste of time, all I wanted was a muscle relaxer so I could have a decent night's sleep for once. If you've been to a doctor that didn't take you seriously then you know what I'm talking about.

I had had these shots over a year ago by another practitioner, she was in and out and the shots did nothing for me. When I say in and out I mean it seemed like the procedure was simply to dispense some product into my back and charge my insurance. My experience with Dr. Mahboobi was completely different. He explained to me what he was going to do and systematically with great care and precision injected the medicine in exactly to precise spot it needed to be. During the procedure he told me every step of what he was doing. I found him to be professional, caring and an exceptional physician. The time he spent with me was triple what the other doctor had spent and the results were 300% better. I suggest that if you need spinal tap procedure for back pain you seek Dr. Mahboobi's excellent care. He is an expert at what he does and really cares about his patients.
