I'd have paid anything for him to tell me he couldn't fix them rather than destroy them on me. He also destroyed my bag strap also. It's a shame because my family recommended this place and it was just not good. He's a older gentleman and I feel for him because his humor was fun and he wasn't cruel but I couldn't skip past this truth. I'm truly upset about my items as they're awful now. I'd post photos along with this but it's just not necessary the items were damaged and this review says enough. I'm really just going to repurchase the items at a later time in the future hopefully, but the items themselves were extremely costly so I'm bummed out. It will be quite some time. Disappointed and beyond.

I hate being a Karen...I usually don't, but this time I have to, so I came here. I had three pairs of sneakers. The guy said he could do the job. I asked, "Are you sure?" He said he'd be able to take the yellow out and that he has a special machine and all this nonsense. Then he made me pay him upfront. I said, "Sure, no problem." I dropped off the shoes there on Wednesday. I went back on Saturday to pick them up, and they looked exactly the same. Before I even got to say anything, he started complaining about how he couldn't do this and couldn't do that. I said, "Okay, understandable. Do I get half of my money back?" He said, "No, you don't get anything back." One of the sneakers also he said he can glue the back part then he said he might have an issue. I said right let me get these sneakers back then he's like no no I got it. If you can't do it properly after I say, let me take the sneakers back. Don't tell me you can do it and then not even do it. It was like A quick pay upfront money grab for him !!! So why would you tell me you were able to do the job if you couldn't do it? Why would you make me pay upfront? One of the sneakers has yellow inside the bubble. He told me he didn't have to go inside the sneaker to get rid of it, that he has a special machine. Complete nonsense. Then you want to pocket the money I paid in advance and not give me anything back--not even five dollars, not even a penny. I'm pissed!!! It feels like he asked me for money upfront, cause he know he couldn't do the job. I'm not coming here ever again ever.!!!! PS he didn't even clean them ! Plus, he's expensive like WTF $70 for what?!!! you didn't do anything. If you did the job correctly, I wouldn't complain about the price, but you did NOTHING !!!

I've brought him several pairs of pretty beat up boots...resoled and shined, looking fabulous. I recently brought him a vintage Louis Vuitton bag that had ripped tabs (opps, should have taken a 'before' photo) to see if he could replace them. He did, and they look great. He also conditioned my bag, so it looks way better than had he just replaced the tabs. They leather was REALLY dry beforehand, and it really looks great and much more even after going to him. The prices here are extremely reasonable, and Sam's work is top notch. He is also very kind and has a quick turn around time. Highly highly recommend!

I had a leather pouch where the stitching came loose in one of the tool pockets causing things to fall to the floor. They told me the repairs had to be stitched by hand which I knew would cost more than using the machine but I just picked my item up and so far the repair looks good. They actually charged me slightly less than they initially thought which was nice. I will repost on the quality of repair in terms of how long the new stitching will last but on appearance alone it seems like a solid repair. They are very laid back when it comes to the formality of writing physical receipts or sales orders very old school and personal. I will go back if my boots need work.

As I was leaving he made a remark about not wanting to pay. I told him I didn't want my money back. I wanted the service he was supposed to give. Im not a shoe repairman. The man behind the counter was friendly at first and told me he could re-glue the soles and patch two damaged areas. The boots aren't leather -- they're durable snow-boot material -- but I was told they could be repaired. The cost was $80, which felt high, but Nike no longer makes these ACG boots so I agreed. I was given a Saturday or Monday pickup date and chose Saturday. Unexpectedly I had to work, so I sent a friend to pick them up. When she got there, the boots looked terrible -- sloppy black glue everywhere and no real patchwork done. She went back inside to ask if they needed more time, and the employee was rude and nasty to her. A few days later I returned myself. The same man immediately began yelling, saying the boots were old and that was the best he could do. When I reminded him he promised patching, cleaning, and re-gluing, he cut me off and kept shouting. I pointed out the soles were still dirty and the repair was poorly done -- he slammed my boots on the counter and told me to leave. I came back later hoping to calmly resolve it. I asked for either a proper repair or a refund. He laughed in my face and said, "I don't refund money." He did take the boots to the back and attempted to fix them again, but the quality was still far below what was promised. He eventually apologized for his behavior, but the work remained subpar. Poor craftsmanship, worse customer service, and completely unprofessional behavior. Save your money and go somewhere else
