3 and a half stars cause I like their pizza sauce. It wasn't bad. It's kinda similar to CiCis pizza. I did their pizza buffet, and they didn't have as much a variety on their buffet as CiCis did, but their pizza was better. It's crispy with better pizza sauce. I think for to go orders it would be better. I wouldn't recommend their pizza buffet. I can't eat that much pizza, but a slice, or 2 at the most, and $10-11 is too much for me to pay for a buffet. They had about 2-3 different kinds of pizzas on their buffet, salad, pasta, chicken tenders, and cheese sticks. Their chicken tenders weren't bad either. I wasn't a fan of their cheese sticks. I think I saw banana pudding for dessert, but didn't try it. They also sell beer. (Not much of a selection, but they had it.). read more

Ordered over the phone, told me the price and time it would be ready. Got to the pizza store as the pizza was coming out of the oven. Good price was as quoted. The reason for the 2 stars was there was 1 piece of sausage on each square. (Cut in squares), pizza was not very tasty at all. Cheese bread was just ok. It was very busy when we arrived. The waitress did her best to seat us as soon as possible. We placed our ordered appetizers. The garlic knots were delicious, but! Decided to try a new pizza place and seen Sals. Pizza was better than your chain pizza places, but didn't send me over the edge for the price of the pizza. I've had better pizza for less as to the cost. The quality of the ingredients were good. I give 3 stars only cause I would of expected a little more for the price. The large seemed more like a med. and med like a small. Maybe I'll try again sometime, but for now it's not my go to pizza. Attention New York Pizza Snobs, this review is not for you, because nothing seems to make you happy! Obviously I'm not from New York, so hopefully I can give a review that helps some of you with your decision. The pizza is very good here. I noted a little extra saltiness, but couldn't tell if it was from the cheese or the sauce. I put some grated parmigiana cheese on one slice and I am leaning towards the extra saltiness from the cheese. If you didn't notice, I gave this place 5 stars, so I actually like the flavor that was presented. For those of you that don't like the extra salt flavor, you've been warned. The crust was cooked just the way I like, but I did hear the lady at the next table order pizza extra crispy. She seemed happy when it was served. So that's an option here. Since everybody has their own likes and dislikes concerning pizza, I'd say this place would be open to accommodating any requests. I also had an eggplant sub. Eggplant wasn't cut too thin, and it wasn't too thick....I think I got lucky. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Oh, and the eggplant itself wasn't breaded too much. I dislike overkill breading, prefer to actually have some eggplant. The sub came with a bag of chips and a pickle. Service was decent. The waitress was helpful in making suggestions. She handled all tables and I didn't hear any complaints (although it wasn't too busy). As an out of towner, I felt welcome here. The restaurant was clean, both the dining area and kitchen (which is open to the front). I didn't use the bathrooms so I've got no idea there. I understand this place has a lunch Buffet. Don't know what's on the buffet or how much it cost, but I'm betting that it would be decent and a good bang for your buck! read more

Sal's has become our go-to for pizza in Murfreesboro. So far, we've not been served bad food nor have we experienced bad service. The crust tastes good. Not sure what they do to it, but it isn't just a doughy curst. Ingredients are fresh. Service spot on. Just this past Friday night, we (two adults, four kids) went to Sal's for dinner. Ordered two pizzas and a couple of kid's pastas. There was only one waitress working, but she was attentive, kept drinks filled, and kept the dining area in order. She brought some free bread for the kids when she told us they were a little behind. Still the food came out in good time, was hot, tasty, and fresh. This pizza spot was alright for the price the dough was a little soggy with the amount of sauce and cheese that was on the slice. But the pizza was pretty good for the money and the size of the slices will fill you up with just a couple. I wish the dough was a little crispy so it doesn't flop down when you pick it up. I've eaten here several times and it's definitely my go-to place when I'm craving real New York style pizza. They used to have a lunch buffet which was always delicious but they've since stopped having it. I don't usually get to this location for lunch during the week anyway but they do have a lunch special where you can get two slices and a drink so it's perfect for lunch. As a former New Yorker, and I mean a suburbanite of the Big Apple, I can say this is the most genuine New York Style pizza I've had in a long time. I will even go so far as to say it is best New York Style pizza in Murfreesboro. This is place serves 5* food. I gave it only 4* because the dining area is sparse. Had they provided fancier tables with romantic lighting, etc, they would get 5*. I went back the very next day, but brought my wife, so this is a combined review of the two trips, three meals eaten there, and one pizza brought home. On the first visit, I ordered one slice of pizza. The crust has the taste and texture of a true NYC pizza. Even the color is right and it is baked to perfection. Pepperoni reminded me of many of the pizza places in my neighborhood. Mozzarella cheese is one of the first things you notice. This was high quality stuff, the best on any pizza in the 'Boro. It has a high enough fat content that it exudes a wonderful oily flavor. I thought it was olive oil. One the second visit, I ordered the stuffed shells and my wife ordered the vegetable lasagna. The most amazing thing about the shells was that they were al dente. As a cook for my family, one of the hardest things for me to do is boil the pasta, bake it and still have it come out nice and firm. Great job. The filling just oozed out and blended with the yummy sauce. There was also the same great mozzarella cheese. My wife had the same comments about the lasagna. She also added that the vegetables were very flavorful. She said that it was rare to get such good, fresh vegetables in the lasagna. We brought the Sicilian Chicken Pesto Pizza home. It is said that you taste with your eyes first. This pizza looked great. A lot of places serve deep dish pizza. Deep dish is not a true Sicilian pie. The sides of the crust were caramelized perfectly. Even though I had to take half my food home, the ride home was marked by having to endure the wonderful smells from the pizza. It was so authentic, that my adult son had his first experience with Sicilian pie. He loved it and devoured a 12" medium by himself in no time at all. Service was a bit slow, so call your order ahead. They have beer, but no wine. I would love a nice Chianti there, but I can always take the food home, pop the cork and dive in. read more

Placed a delivery order around 7:30pm and at 9:00pm NEVER got the food. called three times and each time I was told about 15 mins. my last call I was told the delivery driver told another employee I didn't answer my door and the driver tried to call. Both was not true. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they were out on deliveries and they would call me. Never got a call. The pizza is flavorless. The toppings are too few. The sauce is too much but has no flavor and the bread is too thin compared to the sauce ratio. I had to bring it home and put it in the oven to cook it the rest of the way and add my own toppings in order to make it edible. Add more mozzarella and amp up the toppings you'd have maybe a decent pizza. Update: tried their pizza again and I'm even more disappointed now then I was the first time. I ordered the Phillies cheese steak and had to go home and cook it the rest of the way. The toppings (what little bit it had) came off the pizza in one bit. I've had better gas station pizza. The calzone was so tough you could not cut through it as they gave you was plastic silverware. We ordered takeout from there yesterday and it was delicious! The eggplant parmigiana could feed four people. My husband got the Pesto Penne and was raving about it. My only feedback for takeout would be on the lasagna. It would be better packaged in a smaller box so it didn't all spread out. It was kind of a mess but still tasted good to my kids.
