I went to Sal's today to get some lunch with my service dog. When I walked up to the counter the owner Sal approached me and my wife and told us my dog was not allowed. We tried to explain that he was a service dog. Even though he had a vest with a service dog patch. Not only did he tell us to leave he was extremely rude to me and my wife. As a Veteran and a disabled person this behavior is appalling and unacceptable. I will never attempt to eat here again. I suggest that no one else does unless they condone this type of behavior. *Update* I confronted Sal after eating lunch somewhere else. I told him that I did not appreciate the way he spoke to my wife and I. Sal and His wife both apologized and said they did not mean to be rude and that they were sorry for the misunderstanding. read more

Best pizza outside of NY. The sauce is perfect and the crust is crunchy on the bottom and chewy in the middle. Their garlic knots are AMAZING. I even dip my pizza crust in the garlic knot sauce. Husband has had their spaghetti and meatballs and has liked it as well. The service is great and reasonably priced. read more

Sal's is an odd experience. The service is terrible but the food is good. They seem to hate making pizzas. Which seems strange for a pizza buffet. But when they do finally make pizza its does taste good. read more

Expected to show my friend how great Sals is, but... the pasta was cold, the pizza was old, the salad tired. The place was clean tho. 25$ for 2 to have buffet, which amounted to 2 pieces of pizza and a few fried mushrooms. We wont be going back, sadly. read more

I'm not kidding! I have always had the opinion that any pizza is good Pizza. Some better than others. However, tonight was horrific. We ordered two pizza, spaghetti and wings. AWFUL! I wouldn't let my son try the wings or spaghetti and meatballs out of fear of making him sick. The cheese pizza and veggie pizza had an odor that was disgusting. It was seriously terrible. A Totinos frozen pizza is a 10 compared to this crap. How you can serve the food you delivered me.... I will never know! Stay away. I have no clue how all the reviews came through. This used to be my favorite pizza place in Murfreesboro. The last few times I've ordered the food arrived looking less than appetizing and sometimes missing a few toppings. My most recent has been the worst the pepperoni pizza arrived with no pepperoni and had a large hole in it in which I appeared peppers were sprinkled over the hole to cover it (peppers were supposed to be on the whole pizza). I called the Sals and after explaining the issue they took down my information and I was told the right people would be told and then they ended the conversation and hung up. read more

Great food! Ordered baked ziti, served very hot, wonderful flavor and exactly as described on menu. Husband ordered ziti Florentine, wow! Great dish. Was a toss up as to which entree was best. Salads small but just right with the large portion sizes. Certainly our new favorite italian restaurant in the Boro! Only wish we'd discovered them sooner! read more

My husband is probably the biggest Sal's fan in Murfreesboro. The food is pretty good, but the best part of this restaurant is the employees. We walk in the door for lunch and the cashier immediately starts my husband's favorite (cheesy bread). I'm a big fan of good customer service, and this is by far one of the best places in the Boro for that. We will continue to be repeat customers for years to come. read more

I went to Sal's for the lunch buffet. The price was $10.82 without a drink. The food was cold and they ran out of pizza. I had 2 cold slices of Pepperoni and afternoon d and had to wait 18 + minutes for more pizza to come out. The staff was not friendly and seemed uninterested in any type of urgency. Their double crust meat lovers was recommended by our waitress, and it was awesome. Delicious meats, especially sausage, and non-greasy crust. 12" was plenty for hubby and I plus two pieces to take home. Would definitely go again if in Murfreesboro! We ordered out a large Pizza Bianca and it was excellent. As a former New Yorker, I have a hard time finding pizza that lives up to my expectations, and Sal's does just that. The crust was great and the cheese was plentiful. We will recommend it to friends and we will be back! I did not try their pizza but was not impressed with their menu food. It wasn't fresh and the fried ravioli tasted like cardboard. Usually when you walk into an Italian restaurant there's a wonderful aroma.... this didn't have it which leads me to believe nothing is made there. Making me think it all comes from a box or a can. I have been wanting to try Sal's for a long time. My question is why did I wait so long. I got the square pizza and my son got the philly cheese steak sandwich. We both loved the food. Have never thought of taking time to post, but I haven't had a worse experience in a restaurant in quite some time. We came in for dinner, and was asked to sit down and wait to be served. It took 15 min for someone to come over despite being one of two customers in the restaurant with over 7 employees standing around and cutting up. So we finally are waited on and then get our food. The pizza is wrong, the lasagna which is supposed to come with bread doesn't, and then when asked about our bread we are told it comes with us, we are told we are wrong despite showing the waitress where it says so on the menu. I was left without a drink for over half the meal. Despite all this the food was bland and needed seasoning. So now we just want to leave, not worth arguing about. We then are told to pay at the register without any bill and so we do, and when asked how our experience was we tell the cashier. She just blames it on the waitress saying she is new. We then pay the bill which seemed high but then just wanted to get out of this place when we noticed that seemed too high. So find out that they overcharged by about $5. So had to let them know which they then corrected but overall this is one of the worst experiences I have had in awhile. I am a doctor who has lived in Murfreesboro for the last 36 years and would say this is the worst experience dining out I have had. This is supposed to be a revamp of the church street location and now I know why they may have closed. Please do better for your customers and don't let them have this kind of experience if you want to stay in business. read more
