Very sorry to have to post this but clients who value their appearance should be informed…read more I have been to this salon for years and have a great colorist (Irina) and - up until last week - Sandra who was a great stylist at my previous visit. What wasn't expected was this time I'd be leaving with an Edward Scissorhands hack job. She has some skill but not consistent, apparently. I went back to get this resolved/adjusted but I strongly feel the onus was placed on me to make suggestions as to how to address the stylist's fail which resulted in a missing chunk of hair at my face and top layers 2 inches shorter than what we'd - mutually - decided on and a massive disconnect. The best practice would have been to consult the salon owners to give a second opinion when I came back, given she knew I was coming in with a problem. They do extensions at that salon and that could have been offered for what would have amounted to a small insert and not a free head of supermodel hair. Given I'm stuck with hours of additional work at my end amounting to more time out of my day and money on styling products the latter could have also been offered. My bangs were uneven and she couldn't even correct that minor imbalance without screwing up. The salon owner called to discuss which unfortunately was a complete defence of the stylist and lack of client respect. Apparently my getting a refund was supposed to be enough which hardly accommodates the months of dealing with a crappy service. Sure the salon comment will be something like "not a good fit" "miscommunication" as per my conversation with the owner or a suggestion I go elsewhere. I'm ahead of them on the last point.

They're very experienced with Asian hair and really take their time when you first meet with them for a consultation. I highly recommend to book an appointment prior to coming here. As soon as you arrive, you'll be offered a cup of tea (hot or iced) and magazines while you wait. I have been getting my hair styled by Frances and I cannot rave about her enough. She has helped me take such good care of my hair and does her best to give you what you came for. They will give you the price prior to actually doing anything to your hair, walk you through what they are doing, and go out of their way to make you comfortable. They even brought me a phone charger since I was sitting there for 7 hours. I can confidently say that my hair colour that has been done by Frances has been phenomenal - I'm always in love with the end result and I really trust her when it comes to giving me a new colour. In conclusion, yeah, it's super expensive, but you pay for what you get. If you want a unique hair colour, get it done at NC.

It was my first time at NC Salon. I've always heard about this salon and knew of the great services…read moreit offered but to be honest, always shied away because of the price list. Last week, I decided to get some major length off and wanted to treat myself so I decided to book a haircut. The time and day I wanted, there was only a director's cut available, $65 for cut and wash. Let me tell you, best decision I have ever made for myself and my hair. Originally, I wanted to have a "V" shape at the back of my head because I always knew that was what looked best on me. My stylist Joe suggested that I had a wider V, almost like a U instead because of my face shape. I was in awe with the techniques Joe used on my hair and left very happy. You can tell why Joe had the title "Director" under his belt. The staff there was very friendly and they even made my waiting guest some tea! Worth mentioning, the scalp and neck massage was a bonussssss and much needed during this stressful school time! Will definitely be back again! A week later and I am still in love with my hair and cannot rave enough about this salon.

The online booking system doesn't even provide a bang trim option. I get prioritizing full cut and colour apts for the money but, from a customer service perspective this is terrible treatment. As a QTBIPOC I can't help but wonder if this is typical Karen behaviour. This is especially so based on comment about textured hair. I walk in and I have a junior stylist not even on their website who does a terrible job and is visibly uncomfortable by curly hair the entire time (also upon looking her up online after... was still practising on straight haired dolls only a few months prior). I sent a message to manager the next day to talk through what happened - and the manager begins to get hostile and tell me her stylist was sad i was unhappy ... does not offer to fix it. After some back and forth agrees to a refund, then has her entire staff block me off of instagram. Incredibly unprofessional.
