Far too much hair was cut off despite providing multiple pictures from different angles showing the exact length I was looking for. When my dissatisfaction with the cut was brought up, Kim offered a free hair wash but did not admit fault. Unfortunately a free hair wash will not regrow a year's worth of hair growth. Summary: I'd recommend Kim for styling services of pre-cut curly hair, but would not advise getting your hair cut here

I bought my mom to Designer's edge for a hair cut and she loved it!…read more My mom hasn't had a "hair style" for decades. She always opted for the cheap $10 hair cut that simply trims your hair without any creatively or style. Since my mom didn't know what kind of style she wanted, Lalin was very patient in explaining what type of hair styles will suit my mom's age and face shape. When she suggested a bob, I was a bit apprehensive about a bob on a 67 year old Asian women but when she was done, my mom looked like she was 57! The salon is conveniently located at the intersection of Wellington and Yonge just behind the TD Bank. It was clean and spacious. Lalin is super friendly to talk to and above all, a truly talented hair stylist.

She even stated that all her other clients were not complicated and they were all easy and that's why she's always had good results. I went here after doing immense research when my normal hair stylist went on medical leave. So I thought this place would be a great match. Boy was I wrong I'm still devastated and it's been one month later. She turned my chocolate cherry brown hair into some strawberry weird mess and couldn't follow a simple. I said layered, she took that as cut it all off until I can't even put it into a pony tail. I warn you. She can only process pure 100% Virgin hair and I wouldn't trust her with a pair of scissors near my head ever again. Well I wouldn't ever let her go near my hair regardless. And to top it off. She was rude as I was crying in the chair and said I was never allowed back. Not like I would ever go back but who says that after they've butchered my hair?!?? Pics attached are of the bleach she dumped on my head (she didn't even use a toner after or anything. She has no idea about the colour wheel and has no idea how to get rid of certain tones in your hair) then I've also attached a pic of the "finished product" Before this my hair was to below my shoulders....

I went to MOMO Hair Salon to get my first digital perm. Not going to lie, I was a bit nervous since…read moreI wasn't sure if my previous thick black hair could be transformed into nice curly waves. Wow, Liz and Sumi certainly worked their magic on my hair. My appointment started out with a thorough consultation to understand my hair type, my face type and how I style my hair on a daily basis. Then, we proceeded to a trim to the side of my head and at the back of my head. Sumi asked lots of great questions and walked through every step of the process to make sure I was aware of the procedures and communicated what was going on, which I really did appreciate. Then, we proceeded to the application of the solution which was pretty cool as it was 3-person teamwork project to apply solution while putting my hair into curls. It was actually a fun experience. The final reveal of my hair was amazing. I was in awe of how my dull and boring thick black horn could look naturally shaped with the curls. The style was clean and smart and the staff provided helpful tips to ensure that I can maintain my look for a long-term basis. I highly recommend this spot if this is your first or ongoing perm appointment. It was one of the most pleasant experiences, especially for this person who does not like sitting in a chair for long periods of time.

It was natural texture, clean shape, and easy to style. If you're thinking about switching up your look or trying a men's perm for the first time, this is 100% the place to go.

Granted, this looked much better when she did the waves, but someday I might be ok at this :) I have gotten one other cleanup while I have been in Toronto and Darquis was by far the best stylist...I think she is even better than the three I have tried in Washington, DC. I am now a local to Queen West and I love this hair salon! It is beautiful, the people are nice, and the vibe is not too trendy like you can find in some shops across town, but it is not outdated either. I think there is a very welcoming vibe in a somewhat timeless space. If you are in the area please check out this little gem. :)

Toby was helpful in terms of giving out suggestions. He started by asking questions on the kind of lifestyle I have so that he could give proper suggestions. Very sorry to have to post this but clients who value their appearance should be informed…read more I have been to this salon for years and have a great colorist (Irina) and - up until last week - Sandra who was a great stylist at my previous visit. What wasn't expected was this time I'd be leaving with an Edward Scissorhands hack job. She has some skill but not consistent, apparently. I went back to get this resolved/adjusted but I strongly feel the onus was placed on me to make suggestions as to how to address the stylist's fail which resulted in a missing chunk of hair at my face and top layers 2 inches shorter than what we'd - mutually - decided on and a massive disconnect. The best practice would have been to consult the salon owners to give a second opinion when I came back, given she knew I was coming in with a problem. They do extensions at that salon and that could have been offered for what would have amounted to a small insert and not a free head of supermodel hair. Given I'm stuck with hours of additional work at my end amounting to more time out of my day and money on styling products the latter could have also been offered. My bangs were uneven and she couldn't even correct that minor imbalance without screwing up. The salon owner called to discuss which unfortunately was a complete defence of the stylist and lack of client respect. Apparently my getting a refund was supposed to be enough which hardly accommodates the months of dealing with a crappy service. Sure the salon comment will be something like "not a good fit" "miscommunication" as per my conversation with the owner or a suggestion I go elsewhere. I'm ahead of them on the last point.
