My hair is very beautiful now and I always get compliments for it. I feel good and beautiful at the end of every session. I love it when Vinny styles my hair. He gives me useful tips too. The staff is very patient and listens to what you want. That is something I didn't see in other salons that I went. I get my hair & nails done and also waxing. I understand the pandemic but the principle is that they didn't tell me or any other customer that they were no longer offering the $30 haircut, you must get your hair blow dried or they will still charge you the $50 for it. To make matters worst, they aren't even allowed to blow dry at the moment and they are still charging people that. I understand businesses are hurting but a $50 haircut that consisted of a few inches off seems gouging Update: since reading the owners response to my honest review I have decided to lower my star rating. Very unprofessional, name calls and accused me of stealing when her employee was the one who was charging me the $30 price for 6 years and I had no idea this wasn't even the price. But yes a price increase from 30 to 55 is gouging, almost a 100 percent increase. My mother had an appointment before me and during her appointment Donna whispered in her ear about the price increase. what is the secret though??!!! My mom asked if she told me and she said no and that's why my mother paid because she knew I would be upset by this, but it's the point that it was never mentioned and that if it was Atleast I'd have the opportunity to search out other salons. I made my appt online for just a basic pedicure, I didn't need anything fancy. So far everyone was friendly. I was greeted when I arrived and was shown to the booth bath chair as soon as I picked my polish. From the looks of this place, it would make a cute spot for a girls day or maybe even for a bridal party to get their nails done. The basic pedicure allows you to pick a scent for the foot scrub (I chose lavender), foot massage, hot stone massage (in my opinion wasn't very hot). The water was hot but that was fine for me since I like my water like that, but could be a problem for someone else. While I waited for my polish to dry I also got a light shoulder massage that was nice. I can say that if you're coming in for a basic pedicure, this place is great. I would recommend to others to try them out. I can't speak for manicures or how well they design them but i may come back to try it out.

This nail salon NEVER disappoints! Previous review: I always have a great experience at Luxi. They have a wide variety of nail services/treatments and polish colors. Yes, you pay for anything extra and why shouldn't you? You get what you pay for and after a year of coming here and seeing multiple different nail techs I can honestly say I haven't had a bad experience yet. My new go-to manicure is the "Gel Builder Set" it is a bit thicker than regular gel polish and has really helped my nails grow. Before getting this done they would always crack at a certain length but now I can enjoy long nails and have the added bonus of knowing it's technically my natural nail! Other services I've done: Apres Gel X set- this is great if you need a nail enhancement quick. It's a gel based fake nail system where the nail is already shaped (there is a wide range of sizes and shapes to choose from) so all your tech has to do is fuse it to your natural nail with a gel product and paint your nails with gel polish. I really love this service for its convenience and the nails look beautiful, however you can't get fill ins so if you want mail enhancements continuously this can get really expensive (and ends up costing you time because the old set needs to be removed to put on a new set). With that said these babies do not fall off, I had one fall off in the three times I've had this service done and I was long overdue for a nail appointment at that point! Gel pedicure- pretty standard here, the techs do a great job though, I've never had any issues with chipping or feeling uncomfortable. You do get complimentary massage and you can add on more mins (there is an extra fee) if you want to really relax! All pedicures come with your choice of scent: pomegranate, green tea or lavender. Gel polish manicure- same as above, standard and similar to any other place, however the quality seems to be elevated here. I do not believe they thin their nail polishes like most other salons do, which makes for a clean gel manicure/pedicure with no bubbles or early chips. I've had issues with other places where a weird film appears on my manicure and it looks dirty, that doesn't happen here because it's GREAT QUALITY workmanship and products. Jelly spa Pedi- there are so many fun pedicures to choose from for a more "spa" experience. I chose the jelly because I was really intrigued and wanted to try something new. It was different! A fun experience and something I'm not really sure how to explain, but definitely relaxing. You may not like it If you don't like to feel different textures on your feet and toes. Callus treatment- a little extra cost but worth it especially to get smooth for summer Nail repair- again, a little extra cost but worth the money! Not only can they repair a nail that has a small rip in it, a nail tech has also built a nail for me when I had a broken nail that was shorter than the others! It is now under my builder gel set and has lasted over a month, and still going strong! Definitely check out Luxi if you get the chance, you won't regret it. On my first visit I was impressed with the decor and staff seems friendly and a large amount of nail colors! She is very meticulous and always pleasant. Even with the differences from the old salon I was pleased until the nail polish chipped off in a week and had to remove the polish! This had never happened before so I took pictures to show her. On my next appointment 2 weeks later I showed the pictures and she said I should have told her and she would've fixed it!!! This next appointment Isabella had a new top coat for me to use and was much better to keep the polish from chipping! I've gotten many compliments on my nails this time! The only downside of this salon is the cost of a regular manicure at $30 I feel is overpriced from the last salon I was at and paying $10 more. If I wanted to get a french or any designs they charge much more on top of the $30. So I'll stick with just a regular manicure for now.

Anytime I go to Tot's, he will check my hair to see if it is healthy enough to do the desired dye before he starts it. Tot and I will review looks and colors to pick the best one. I arrived for my scheduled appointment only to find the door locked. When I called, I was told to drive to their Somerset location instead, which operates under a different name, Akari Nails. It was confusing and inconvenient to only learn this after arriving. Wanting to give them another chance, I later made an appointment for a full gel set and pedicure and returned to the Manville location. The salon smelled strongly of mildew, and I was the only customer there. I specifically asked the technician to keep the length of my toenails and only reshape them. Instead, she cut nearly half the length off both big toenails and even used cuticle nippers to cut the corners of my big toes out. The pedicure was so poorly done that I left before even getting my hands done. I contacted the owner, sent photos, and requested a refund. Instead, she asked me to come to the Somerset location the following day so they could repair the damage with acrylic. After driving there in rush-hour traffic, I spent about 30 minutes waiting while employees called around trying to figure out who I was. They eventually put me on the phone with someone who told me I could either have my pedicure fixed or receive a refund. Since I had already made the trip, I chose to have it fixed. After waiting even longer with no resolution, I asked for the refund instead and was told there was "no way" they were giving me one. I then asked where the owner was, since she was the one who had called me the day before and asked me to come in. I was told, "She thought you were someone else." That response was unbelievable, considering she was the reason I had driven back. When I was finally helped, employees were recording me during our conversation, so I began recording as well. The technician who had originally botched my pedicure also arrived, repeatedly gave me dirty looks, and spoke about me with other employees. Using Google Translate, I understood enough of the conversation to know the comments being made about me were insulting and completely unprofessional. I was also repeatedly told, "This is the final time we're going to fix it for you," even though I had only asked for a refund. It was the owner who insisted I return. After two disappointing experiences, confusing business practices between two salon names, poor workmanship, unprofessional customer service, and the way my complaint was handled, I cannot recommend this business. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because I believe customers deserve better treatment and businesses should be held accountable when they fail to take responsibility for their mistakes.
