The owners response is an absolute untruth. She stated "it was spoken to me about my "nail condition " before hand"? I have no idea what that even means because I have no. " condition." regarding my nails. And she even states in a response back to me that the nail tech doesn't even speak English so how could she have a conversation with me? And I actually do know Vietnamese N the owner never once was telling her what she should or shouldn't do. They were gossiping about the customers. And never one time out of my mouth did I state " that I wanted the cat eye" because I never in my life heard of it before until I went up and paid for it. I literally told you that I have gone to the same nail salon for over 25 years in Broward County, and I had just gone before I came into the salon to show them my nails, and I wanted them exactly the same way. I did not get that my nails are extremely thinner on both sides and pointy, and I can show you pictures of years that I've had the same style nails until I went to the salon. I want to start by acknowledging that the technician who did my nails was extremely talented -- this was truly one of the best French tip applications I've had in a while. Unfortunately, the experience itself left me feeling very uncomfortable and disrespected. The session began with a technician who didn't speak English, and another more senior technician stepped in to translate. While I tried to describe the nail shape I wanted, there was a clear communication barrier, and the first technician left. From there, the senior technician's tone and demeanor became noticeably frustrated and impatient with me. I've always been a polite and easygoing customer, so being spoken to in such a belittling and condescending way was really disappointing. When I misunderstood a nail shape term, the way it was corrected felt unnecessarily harsh. I could also tell that I was being discussed in another language, which only added to how uneasy I felt. At one point, the technician even asked if I wanted to leave -- which shocked me because I had never said or implied that. That moment completely ruined the relaxing experience I had hoped for, and I ended up skipping my pedicure and leaving early. This is the first time I've ever left a salon without tipping -- not because of poor work, but because of how I was made to feel. Her talent is undeniable, but professionalism and respect matter just as much. I wanted to start a relationship of reoccurring spa services with your establishment but don't really feel welcomed and I believe my character was misjudged- as if to expect more hostility from me which goes against what I've always stood for- common decency and respect for everyone I encounter. I came to Salon Vo to get my and my daughter's haircuts. The salon was quiet, I was greeted very quickly, even though we were early, our stylist was ready for us. I am very happy with how our hair turned out. Our stylist listened closely to our concerns and was very detailed and took her time to make sure it was right. They had many openings and were able to take my daughter and I for a same day appointment. It was a very busy salon, but there was a good vibe and great interaction between the staff there. The girls who did my nails did a good job, however, it was not clearly communicated to me how much would be paying. When I made the appointment, I was told that an acrylic fill would be $31. I had gone in with a few nails that need to be completely redone, so I expected to pay a little more than what I was quoted. The woman who did my nails then removed the rest of the acrylic from the rest of my nails and gave me a full set. I didn't ask for this but let her continue. She then suggested that I get a highlight nail in a contrasting color. Again, not a problem. Usually not an extra charge cuz it's just a color, no artwork. By the time it was said and done, I paid for a full new set of acrylic, removal of all the old acrylic and then was charged for the 'artwork' on a contrasting nail. I ended up paying 2x what I had been quoted on the phone. The salon was great. My clinician was personable and easy to talk to. We called at the last minute, coming from out of town with a small bridal party, and they were so quick to accommodate and make sure the bride had a stress free experience. Wendy in particular was so patient I really appreciated it. The salon was clean and stylish, and their nail techs were kind and knowledgeable. They are educated in all areas of cosmetology. They are up to date on all CDC and county guidelines to prevent the spread of covid19. They put into practice all safety precautions. I had my roots touched up by Leon and it was a great experience. I am extremely picky about my hair. I faithfully have my roots done every three weeks and foils 4x a year. I have used the same colorist for 19 years but have been in Florida the past two months helping my father. I was nervous to get the touch up but Leon was meticulous in getting a close match to my existing color and was very thorough in touching up roots. I went for a pedicure because I had a back issue and couldn't do it myself. Two weeks later when I removed the polish, my toe was purple. Enter Covid19 and everything closed down. I finally got an appointment with my Dr. She told me I had a fungus. It has been a horrible and uncomfortable experience. It is now several weeks later and I am still dealing with the fungus. My nail now seems to be coming off and it is pretty ugly. read more
