FINALLY!!!! A good Dominican salon nearby!!!! It is always so difficult for me to find a good salon…read morefor my curly (like scary spice) hair- but I only go to Dominican salons, b/c they are the absolute best at dealing with my hair- better than any high-end white or black salon I've been to (and I've tried A LOT). As usual with Dominican salons, it looked really shabby (I almost turned around in the parking lot) and when they answered the phone they sounded bored, but they took great care of my hair. I did the keratin treatment, best price I've found in town here, and noticed they use a top quality keratin brand. They used top-European brand shampoo, conditioner, and serum on my hair as well. They were great at little things white and black salons miss on my type of hair like the type of combs and method of combing for minimal breakage. All in all I have officially found a regular salon in Athens. If you have ethnic or hard to manage hair and excellent skill will override the salon's shabby outer appearance, then I highly recommend this place.

I would strongly encourage salon artists considering chair rental to explore other options. My…read moreexperience with the salon's lead-handling and answering service was disappointing. I specifically called requesting an appointment with a particular artist and, despite waiting over a week, never received a response or follow-up. If you're an artist relying on salon-generated leads, you may want to consider a location with a more effective process for connecting clients and stylists. For clients seeking services, I recommend contacting your preferred artist directly rather than relying on the salon's main phone line.

She stripped sections of my hair as a test and then made an appt. for me to come back 6 weeks later for the full service. Well, after waiting all this time, she cancels last minute and says it's too big of a job for her. I am now out of time and will have to start all over again. Incredibly unprofessional. She could have asked for one of her friends or co-workers to help her. Wish she had told me 6 weeks ago she didn't want to do it instead of me having to wear a hat everywhere I went during the hot summer. P.S. and by the way: If you are concerned about catching Covid-19, they do not enforce mask wearing at this salon, so beware if you are immune compromised.

It took me 5 years to find someone in Atlanta who could give me a great cut. So, when I moved to Athens 4 years ago, I continued to make the drive to Atlanta to see my stylist. She recently moved to California. Gak! Fortunately, it didn't take me another 5 years to find a great stylist in Athens. After trying another salon for a few months, I decided to give DRee at DRee & Co. a try. She did a FANTASTIC job. Thanks to DRee, I'm back to having a fun, sassy, short cut that I love. And, best of all, I no longer resemble a Q-Tip. :-) If you're 'ok' with your current stylist or flat out unhappy, give DRee a call. You won't regret it.

I'm visiting from NY but am originally from the area. I brought my son in for a kids hair cut. The…read moresalon is cute and the owners so nice. My sons cut was great! Why only 3 stars. My 3 year olds cut was $35. That's insane. I pay $20 + tip in NYC and I know other salons in Athens that charge $10-20. To make it worse when I went to pay they told me only cash or check. So then I had to go to the atm. I work in hospitality and always tip well but given the price tag to trim my sons hair and the trip to the atm I didn't leave any extra. I was also confused as on their site a men's cut starts at $25 so how I ended up getting charged $35 I'll never know. Prob a great place for regular cuts/color but will def not be back for a kids cut.
