Just moved to westchester from NYC and was looking for a new stylist- hard to find something affordable in the area but luckily I stumbled upon this! Prices are good and Tai does a great job- first I scheduled just a cut and single color and just went back today to add highlights. I think I look good :) I'm always very nervous for some reason getting my hair done but he did a good job at doing what I wanted, told me the price up front before anything was done which I highly appreciated. Met Nicole today too and she helped dry my hair- very sweet gal. Both times I was there they had staff members run to my car to feed the meter! So Nice!! Will def return :) read more

WORST hair salon in the Westchester. Staff totally ignored my request. I showed picture to how to cut my hair, but she rejected my order and shaved out all hair. I've been a client of Salon Tai for over 8 years and have never once been disappointed. Tai, the owner, is exceptional with short, layered cuts--especially for fine, straight hair like mine. Over the last year and a half, I decided to grow out my highlights to embrace my natural silver, and Tai has been so supportive of the transition. He's been highlighting just my bangs to blend seamlessly with my natural color, and the result looks beautiful. I truly appreciate how he listens and works with me on whatever idea I bring. I'm glad I found this Asian salon in Westchester, I used to drive to China town for good hair work. I had balayage done by Tai and Vicky, they were both very attentive and careful. The lady washing the hair is very sweet too. Here is a pic of their work. It implied bleaching and dye, total 5 hours of work. I also like that the salon is well ventilated. read more

I can to Salon Tai two or three months ago and am about to head back to get a hair-cut refresh! There are several things I enjoyed about my experience at Salon Tai: 1) Tai is super nice and amiable in addition to knowing what he's doing. I had a great and relaxing time as well as getting a good haircut! What a professional and nice guy! 2) My haircut turned out great BUT it also grew out well! That's great for me because I tend to wait too long to get my maintenance haircuts. (The burden of short hair) 3) You get comfy and cute spa robes during your stay--which really minimizes the hair that gets on your clothes. Also, you feel luxurious. Hahaha 4) Finally, an added perk separate from an awesome haircut and awesome service: they know Asian hair. I had come in with some ideas for pixie cuts and Tai very kindly guided me in a different direction and reminded me that with my thick Asian hair, the styles I was hoping for would not turn out anything quite like the Pinterest photos. (Aka my hair wouldn't be the type to lay down nicely and instead would stick out straight! And he is very much right!) So I def recommend Salon Tai for haircuts. :D read more

Going through some positive life changes right now and obviously I always have to express change through my hair. I called them last minute after reading reviews on yelp and seeing pictures, I said I was ten minutes away and can you make me blonde by 3pm because I had to leave to head to Manhattan. I've been to so many places where my hair has broken off, they've cut too much, etc. Alex was perfect. He had me in and out. They don't take AMEX and we're going to let me come back to pay! I found my debit card and used that though, I still owe him a tip! I have recommended him to three people thus far and it's only been 24 hours. I'm pleased with the result and plan on going back. Since I commute from Hartsdale to the city, I usually get by hair blown out in NYC. When I received a promotional flyer for a $23 blowout I had to check in out! They were able to take me as a walk in (which was so nice considering how busy they seemed with prom that night). Everyone was SO nice, very welcoming. They are a growing small business and you can tell they are making the effort to value each new client interaction. In less than an hour, I walked out with a shiny, beautiful blow out (which actually held up in the humidity). Sammy did an amazing job. This was very weird experience. The hair dresser made me feel uncomfortable and I couldn't understand half of what he said - pretty sure his name was Alex. Didn't love the cut or blow out. Then the owner came up to me and offered me a $5 discount if I wrote a good review on Yelp and showed it to him. Beware! Really disappointed with the keratin service at this salon . It appears that they didn't apply the solution properly as my hair still looks the same after the treatment . When asked about why it is different , I am told it's my haircut . I have had the same service done twice before at Salon Tai and the results have been amazing, so definitely something wrong with the application this time! read more

Horrible cut. Unprofessional service. Master Tai cut my hair just exact the way I didn't want, even though I confirmed the hair style I wanted with the photo he showed me. He spent just 5 mins with me including communication and cut. Won't come back again!!!!! If you are not going to spend over 100 bucks, I suggest you not to go to there either. I just moved to Hartsdale and was in search of a salon. This place is a hop skip and a jump from my apartment building's front door, so I decided to give it a try. I went in for a basic trim and to have my eyebrows done, and I'm very pleased with the result! It was a bit pricier than I had been expecting to pay (perhaps it's because I'm not from the area), and it took about an hour, but it was worth it I think. My eyebrows look great, and they gave me the most extensive blow dry I have ever had in my life. There were other people in the salon who seemed like they were regulars, and the staff seemed to know and love them. read more

I recently moved to the area and finding a good hairdresser/stylist is a challenging task and I was specifically looking for someone that could cut and style asian hair. I hadn't had my hair colored or cut in over 5 months and I was definitely in need of both. If anyone is interested in hearing about my first world problems, I'm so very happy to have found Salon Tai, especially tonight because tomorrow I'm away for girls weekend with my college buddies I haven't seen in 3 years. I called very late today and they were super accommodating and said I could come in knowing I would be there past their closing hour. Everyone was so nice from Sarah, who answered the phone to Luvida (not sure if I spelled that correctly), who greeted me, took my coat, and got me into smock and eventually shampooed my hair, to Tai, the owner who began the process to color my hair, and finally Vicky, who was so gracious to agree to stay late to finish coloring and cutting my hair. I truly feel like I got the royal treatment. Vicky did a fantastic job on my hair and I couldn't be happier. She listened to what I wanted, made recommendations, checked often to see if I liked the length and if I wanted more cut. She is very conscientious and she takes her time and really made sure I was happy with my cut and color. Everyone was super friendly and knowing after a long day of being on their feet, I'm sure they wanted to be home. But instead of rushing me out the door, they really epitomized the meaning of great customer service. I would recommend them to anyone and I will surely be back.
