I have been here several times for an eyebrow wax. This is the best wax that I have had in Philadelphia. Other places are either too expensive, do not make my eyebrows even, or take too long, or do not put the correct treatment on after. At Salon Salon, my eyebrows always look great after. I have full eyebrows that are "sisters" and not "twins" so I like when someone is able to make them look even. I live very close to Salon Salon now, but even after I move, I will still go there to get my brows done. Quick Tip: TIP in CASH. They do not accept credit card tips. read more

I came to Salon Salon over the summer when I absolutely needed a haircut before I had to get a professional picture taken. They were super easy to schedule with and were able to get me in the next day. Regarding COVID protocols - when I came to get my hair cut, they took my temperature, everyone was wearing masks, and there was sufficient spacing between all of us in the salon. Overall, my haircut was fine! My hair was especially unruly because it had been so long since I had gotten it cut, but my stylist was able to get it back under control and give me a nice blowout. Was it the best haircut I had ever received? Probably not. But it was a nice, safe option to get my hair taken care of during COVID, with a super friendly staff. They also had a new client discount and also have student discounts. The haircut was a good and reasonably priced overall. Definitely worth a look if you're trying to get your hair cut in Center City during these "unprecedented" times. read more

Obsessed with this place! Went for a really dark brown to a blonde. The owner was extremely friendly and passionate about giving me exactly what I wanted! There were two other ladies in there who also helped out with my hair. I felt prioritized and I am beyond satisfied. BTW Damian gives the BEST hair cuts!! read more

Finally! A stylist that intuitively knows what I want, what looks great, and what's hip and stylish. I've been trying to achieve this blonde for quite sometime with disastrous results. Damian and his staff are true professionals that take their work and your look as serious as you do. Constantly searching for someone I can trust with my hair, I'm elated my search is over. read more

The best hair care in center city Philly. I have been going here for my every day hair cut and color needs for over 20 years. Damian and his professional team of stylists have never let me down. Always skillful, they have kept me looking good and up to date. Get consistent compliments on my color wherever I go. They treat all their customers like friends and bend over backwards to met your needs. Recently, they were part of my "wedding glam team" and made me and my wedding party look fabulous. Thank you, Lynn! A great excuse to come back to Center City. You'll be glad you did!!! read more

The 5 starts is for Salon Salon's waxing services only, as I have never been to the salon for hair care. Raisa is the best. She uses a different type of wax that minimizes pain during the wax as well as bumps and redness post wax. Raisa is so meticulous that she will remove ingrown hairs. On top of that, Raisa's waxing services are one of the most reasonably priced I have ever encountered. read more

I've been seeing Raisa at Salon Salon for monthly facials for the past six months. I've been a frequent visitor to numerous spas in Philadelphia, and I have to say that Raisa's facials are the best I have experienced, and her price is extremely reasonable. She customizes the products she uses for me each time I visit, she has never once tried to get me to buy special products, and my complexion has been much more clear since I started visiting her. I also love that each facial includes an eyebrow wax. I'm not sure what type of wax she uses or how she does it, but her eyebrow waxes barely hurt. Just so you know what to expect . . . Salon Salon's spa services aren't fancy . . . you won't get a fluffy robe and slippers . . . but you will get fabulous service! read more

This rating is for Raisa who provides stellar wax services! I normally would keep this to myself but she deserves the praise (and the business :-) read more

Raisa is some sort of magic woman! I should start by saying that I had a place i went for waxing that was closer to me in south philly but that i heard such good things i wanted to check it out for myself; one of the best decisions i've ever made! never have i been treated so well when simply visiting for a wax! she really went above and beyond to get my eyebrows perfect and they were in the stage where they needed longer to grow out but i was desperate and she did magic! also she seems to really care about your skin and how you look and never makes you feel uncomfortable or bad. lovelovelovelovelove this place, i should also mention that all the stylists and the owner seemed super friendly while i was there which is a big plus! read more

Went for a formal hairdo. Nothing but compliments all night long on my hair. Great job, reasonable price.

My hairdresser who I have been seeing for many years retired recently, and I went to Damian at Salon Salon for a trim and touchup of my highlights. My hair is a dirty blonde/very light brown color, and I had what I thought were very natural looking highlights. I explained to Damian that I only wanted the roots to be touched up and that I wanted the color to remain "exactly the same" and not be "too yellow." He proceeded to highlight the whole length of my hair. When he finished, he said that he decided to "brighten up [the] color" because he thought it looked to "ashy." The result was a very brassy looking yellow color that does not complement my skin tone. Additionally, I have a natural part and the roots were not as close or even as I am accustomed to. I am extremely disappointed with the hair coloring overall. The trim was okay. My hair is mostly one length, so it is difficult to mess up. However, I did have to do a little trimming to even out certain parts. I would also note that Damian charged me $5 more than I was quoted for the cut, and he physically saw my hair when he gave me the quote, so there should have been no question about price. I didn't argue about the price, but instead deducted it from the tip I had planned to give. Damian and the staff were all very nice, and they even gave me a glass of wine (which I sorely needed once I saw the color of my hair.) Needless to say, I would not recommend this salon--especially not for hair color! read more

Everyone was super nice and accommodating, they listened to what I wanted to get done with the color, looked at the model pictures and promised that it will get done. While doing the color, I was offered a quick end trim of my grown bob haircut, and in the end I got a curly blowout. Everything looked nice until I washed my hair the next day. The ends trim turned out to be short layers introduced chaotically over my bob haircut, the firm was completely ruined. The color tone was completely off - yellow highlights, instead of subtle shadow lowlights, they were too concentrated on the crown of my head, toned unevenly. I got a warm brown base, instead of cool dark brown. I looked like a bumble bee and my haircut was ruined. Worst $300 spent ever. Now I had to pay as much to get this horrible hair job fixed. Very disappointed and never coming back. read more

I've been going to Raisa for the last two years for waxing services and recently just had my first facial with her. She is a lovely woman, and her great conversation makes the waxing go by quickly and almost painlessly! Damian has cut my hair a few times and I've been really pleased with his work as well. Their prices are competitive and the staff are very friendly. read more

Salon Salon is as good as it gets. I have been going her for haircuts/color/styling and waxing for over one year now. Damian is the owner and truly does amazing work. I also have had Mary and Lynn cut my hair and they are incredible. At Salon Salon, not only do you get a perfect result in whatever service you get, you feel like you are part of the family for the hour that you are there. I recommend to all of my friends who just moved to the city, or a someone in need of a blowout from out of town. A true neighborhood gem. read more

For all those who have been lucky enough to have a facial or wax service by Raisa back in Olde City - be lucky once again as she has moved to 15th and Samson. Raisa's services include massage, facial and wax. Her facials are amazing - she loves what she does and it really shows. Her products are top notch. Additionally, the prices are extremely reasonable. Plus now she's easier to get to if you are working/living in center city. Her new space is just as simple and relaxing as it was back at Salon 130, previously called Salon Zoon. Once you meet this gem, you'll be with her for life. read more

My husband and I spent weekend in city and got apts win Damian. The ambiance and family feeling of place is unbeatable. We fell in love with staff and both can't say enough great things about our hair. Damian suggested new way to cut my thick hair to thin it out and my color was perfect. We are both trying to find way to get back! Reasonable prices for amazing skills. read more

I just finished a facial with Raisa and it was amazing! What a first class service yet it was half the price. I almost do not want to post this and lose such a great value to others who will fill this amazing persons schedule. I have been going to Damian for years and its the best haircut and color I have found in the downtown area. I had someone close to this quality when I lived in Miami beach but not so good with color so I would wait for that and do it when I visited Philly. Since I am a man with gray hair I count on a natural look so my friends cant tell its colored like so many other places I tried and it looked fake. Oh I love the wine they offer me! read more

Referred to Damian (owner) from BFF ... love at first sight! Everyone in the salon treats you like they've known you forever and Damian has to be one of the most thoughtful person ever! I don't even live in Center City but it's so worth the travel time. Everyone compliments me on my hair and worries when I say I go to a salon in Center City but I quickly add that the prices are very reasonable and comparable to most salons anywhere! Thank you, Salon Salon for giving me a hair salon home! read more

I got my hair cut, and I mean really cut, with Erin. I went in knowing that I needed a big change, but not sure what I wanted. Erin looked at my hair, my face shape, my habits and gave me a great cut that I love and that is easy to care for which is most important for me. Walking home, I looked in every window checking out my new great cut. This was a great experience and I highly recommend them. read more

Raisa is the BEST! I was in Philadelphia for a few months for work and started looking for salons up here for waxing services. I found Salon Salon which was a few blocks from my hotel and had the most amazing Brazilian wax done there! Raise uses this all natural French lavender wax, which barely hurt at all (still hurts, ha) and was great for my extra sensitive skin. Even though it was my first time there, I felt so comfortable and welcome and I felt she spent a lot of quality time performing the wax. Not only was the service great, the prices are the best anywhere I've seen around this area! I paid $45 for the best wax I've ever gotten. Definitely going back to Salon Salon and Raisa when I'm up here next for work! read more

If you're looking for great hair, Sondra Nocella at Salon Salon is fantastic. She has been doing my hair - cuts, color, highlights, in various styles - over the years, and I ALWAYS love it. ALWAYS get compliments on it. I usually tell her a little about what I think I want, and she takes it from there. Ive seen her do women's hair and men's, and they always look great. I've been going to her for - well I won't say how long - but have followed her as she has periodically moved salons. Salon Salon is a great one - friendly, relaxed and casual - not stuffy and pretentious. Prices are good and all of the people there are really nice. Check it out. read more

Need to get your eyebrows done!? This is the place! Raisa has been doing my eyebrows here for years, I wouldn't trust anyone else in the city! Salon Salon is a hidden gem. 5 stars all around! read more

I went to Salon Salon because I saw my friend had fantastic results from a Keratin treatment and cut from Damian at the Salon. She was raving about it and I found myself wanting the treatment because of the great results that she had. Let me tell you I was not let down the place has an excellent vibe to it and great decor that really makes you feel like you are getting fantastic service and pampering. Damian did a great job on my hair and it is so easy to manage now I am saving myself close to an hour a day with my hair now so easy to manage. Great Salon I will be back I think I found my new spot. read more

I just moved to Philadelphia and came here because of the good yelp reviews. I had Damian who was very nice and gave me a student discount. HOWEVER, he completely ruined my hair color. My hair is only one color (dark brown) and I get it dyed every couple months to get rid of some premature grays. This should be an easy single process dye job. What Damian did was dye my roots a shade of reddish-brown that was at least 2 shades too light compared to the rest of my head. I did not notice until I got home since the salon is in a basement with not a lot of natural light - but when I did get home, I was mortified. My parents and a couple (honest) friends even commented at how my roots looked too light! Would give one star for the dye job because it should not have been difficult but was botched. The extra star is because Damian was very nice and friendly. read more

Raisa gives the best massages - she is amazing. I've had massages as part of physical therapy and can say that hers were more effective, and instructive (she'll let you know your problem points and give suggestions for things you can do on your own) than the rehab medicine ones. read more
