My mother rented a studio at Salon Republic in Glendale for two years, paying $500 a week--and after all that loyalty, the way they treated her when she left was unbelievable. Five months after moving out, they suddenly contacted her claiming she owes $1,156 for "specks of paint on the floor," "removal of a decal," and "oil on the baseboard." Seriously? That's absolutely ridiculous. To make it worse, they called and threatened to send her to collections, even though this was the first time anyone ever reached out about the issue. Oh, and they also kept her $500 security deposit--you'd think that would be more than enough to cover any supposed "damage." They are money hungry and clearly don't care about the professionals who rent from them. During her time there, the bathroom had a major leak that disrupted her business, forcing her to cancel client appointments--and all they offered was a measly $20 off for two days. Completely unprofessional and inconsiderate. If you're thinking of renting from Salon Republic Glendale OR any of them, don't do it!! She was the very first person I went to, and I've never looked back since! I have a amazing stylist her name is Alyssa Sandoval ! If you want the best of the best go see her she's been doing my whole family for over 20 years her hair cuts are perfection. When she does my color it always turns out perfectly . She is kind and nice with a great sense of humor and whenever I walk out of the salon I feel amazing ! I highly recommend her . I just got married recently and you know your hair has to be top notch on the day of your wedding ! I could not be more happier than the work she did she made me feel beautiful my hair held up all day long ! She also is a make up artist she did my make up for my wedding I never looked more amazing it looked flawless didn't even need a touch up ! She also did my daughters hair for prom and make up it looks fabulous my daughter was so happy! My husband also goes to her every 4 to 6 weeks. Working at a hair salon as a hair stylist isn't exactly like the terms of employment at another job. Stylists get paid on a payroll but technically "rent a chair" and those who do hair color have to pay for the dye and toner out of pocket (but they are reimbursed, typically). What is one way to avoid chair rental fees? Working for yourself, of course. Salon Republic locations (there are a few around the city of Los Angeles) makes this dream possible by providing real estate where stylists and beauty technicians can rent single rooms (or larger floor plans) essentially owning their salon, so to speak. In turn, clients get a more VIP, private, individualized service. Win, win! Burbank's Salon Republic location is new to the empire and is, honestly, the best one I've seen. The Burbank Towne Center Mall underwent extravagant renovations and remodeling immediately before Covid hit (there is STILL some construction happening at the mall) and brought in new stores, restaurants and you guessed it: a Salon Republic. Taking up a large corner unit on the third floor by Burlington; Salon Republic can be accessed by the street side on Magnolia or through the East Parking Garage (free!) with a direct entrance from the garage into the mall and straight to Salon Republic. You can't miss either, as large signage is available. Take note that Salon Republic isn't open to the public and therefore you can't enter the doors (they are locked). There is a doorbell for the front desk but generally the business/stylist you are visiting personally comes and gets you upon arrival. I visited Salon Republic for a haircut with Tiny Knives (which will be another review) but was blown away by the entire establishment. I've been to a Salon Republic in both Encino and Hollywood and they are Skid Row in comparison to this glorious version. The entire space is modern, airy with high ceilings and tons of natural light/glass, and is filled to the brim with art and beauty. I honestly felt like Anne Hathaway in, "The Devil Wears Prada". It is less of a salon space and more like a huge fashion design house or fashion magazine. The architects remolding the mall really went all out with the Salon Republic space. Bravo! As a reminder, Salon Republic is just a rental space so you conduct business/pay the business/stylist you are visiting. A few other reviews mentioned a rude front desk attendant but I didn't even interact with the front desk being my stylist personally attended to me; so I have no complaints in that regard. Noticeable was the sound proofing in Salon Republic. Even though it is the home to various beauty businesses (picture it as an office building); it was serene, quiet and I couldn't hear people in the hallway or in units next to the one I was in during my haircut. This adds to the private service-feel. Honestly, Burbank's Salon Republic is terrific: beautiful, quiet, easy access/parking... there is nothing to complain about. Rest assured if you are visiting a stylist in this work space that you will living it up. read more

So just be careful do your own homework. Remember the people in there do not work for the SALON REPUBLIC they just rent space from a name. I am SO HAPPY to have finally found a good stylist! I booked with Jordan Rohan (jordanmyhairgirl) as a referral from a close friend and I'm so glad I did! Not only is she the sweetest person and made me feel so comfortable (which isn't an easy task since I suffer from severe anxiety lol) but she absolutely went above and beyond my expectations! My review is for Jordan! (Jordanmyhairgirl). I've been coming to her now consistently for 3 years now and I will never look elsewhere. I've done Ktips, tape in and wefts! She's guided me in this journey for what's best with my hair. I will say, some hair brands send you hair with cheap glue on the ktip or the tape in. Please make sure you are aware of this before y'all crazy females blame stylists on your hair extensions coming out. Some are not the best quality. For my hair, Jordan has had to switch the ktip glue to the one she uses and same for the tape in. I come in every 5 months for my touch up. Prices are extremely fair for especially for the service and time that is put in! Check her out and don't look elsewhere! read more
