I came on a Friday afternoon and saw Kate. I was taken back almost immediately and we got started. I wanted to donate my hair so we started with her separating it and getting it cut. Then we moved to washing and then I got it cut and styled. I told Kate the length I wanted my hair to be and that I wanted long layers and she did an amazing job listening to me and I got exactly what I wanted. The entire time Kate was awesome and we chatted so much it made the appointment fly by. I absolutely love my hair and I am so happy I finally got it cut. Having a foot less of hair has made my hair loss a bit less painful to see and it is so manageable and feels so nice and healthy! The salon offers so many services and is huge! There is a room for everything and I know that I will come back in the future for more services when I am in the area.

A year later, they screwed up my daughter's color (an expensive job), and used a temporary color that washed out, even though she used the shampoo they recommended and sold to her. She had been thinking of chopping her hair off for a long time and it was a big risk to come into this unknown salon for a last minute appointment to do the deed, but the stars lined up. I was so impressed with Lana's attention to detail, and how thoughtfully she styled my daughter's fine hair in a way that would still reflect the punky look that she wanted but would also work naturally for her hair type. Lana also carefully considered how it would grow in over time. My daughter walked out looking like a magazine model, and could not be happier. Brooke did my eyebrows and lip wax. It was very relaxing, and she paid super attention to detail. I am very happy with the result.

I have been hunting all over Syracuse for a decent hair stylist. After 10 years of searching, I…read morefound my guy, Tommie Green. I have naturally wavy hair. Most others have cut it so that it is too long and becomes a big, poofy mess. I have tried straightening it over the years and that doesn't work either. He cut it just the right, shoulder-length so that I didn't feel self-conscience leaving it down. He also showed me a foolproof way to cut my own bangs so I didn't have to keep coming back every three weeks to have him trim them. My hair now takes very minimal attention from me and looks great! I have gotten compliments from colleagues, and even from my teenaged daughter (who is usually very critical of my appearance). He also charges a very reasonable price for his excellent expertise. I can't tell you how happy I am that I took a friend's advice to go to him. The salon is in a strange location, behind some apartment buildings and I was a little wary when I first drove up. Once I got inside, I found the salon bright, open and nicely decorated. I know that they moved locations around 2009, so that may be why another review was so low. I would give it a try.

Soigné is tucked away in the Men's Wharehouse Complex on Erie Blvd. I happen to know about this…read moresalon because my stylist left her previous position at The Concept (downtown Syracuse) a couple of years ago in order to rent her own booth at Soigné. Soigné is a small salon with an elegant feel. The salon is always clean and inviting, with a staff that is accomodating. Unfortunately, my stylist, Rachel Hope, is going on hiatus for a year to travel abroad (otherwise I would highly recommend her). However, she has referred me to another stylist at the salon, Jeannie. Since I have been going to Soigné for about 2 years (every 6-8 weeks) I have always seen happy clients coming and going. I always feel comfortable at Soigné; the atmosphere is laid back and relaxing.

Jeannie was friendly and I am sure she knows what she is doing for certain hair types, but for my curly thin hair she looked at the picture I wanted and failed to tell me that my hair was too thin for this style. Her input would have been helpful. but instead of an angled lob I ended up with a bob with 2 long strands hanging in the front that didn't transition well at all. Not a single compliment but multiple people asking" what happened to you hair?" My haircut alone is bad advertisement. but lucky for Soigne Salon I will continue wearing it up so no one can see the disaster. For $40 I expected more, and can't afford to get it fixed. I do not recommend for people with curly thin hair.

I don't know how much they normally charge, but at the event it was about $15. It was super quick -- about 15 minutes tops, probably less. They were stocked with multiple color options -- I went with a chrome for a more subtle touch. The stylist told me they can last months if you're gentle with them, but I'm not fairly rough on my hair, lol. Still, a few weeks later most are still in. Throughout the evening some of the salon stylists were popping around to talk about their full services and literally all of the ladies were super sweet and friendly. Also love that they have juices and healthy foods -- I think they provided the tea and acai on the distillery menu that night. Seems like a great space -- heads up that they do hair tinsels if you're looking for someone who offers it! Even though it's a bit of a hike for me, the staff was so sweet that I'd consider making the drive if I needed services.
