The small staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is very warm. Belinda, their current esthetician, is very nice and friendly. While her work space is on the small side, she still makes it an inviting one. Her skills are very good and she strives for an ouch-free experience. It's a nice spot out in Cole Harbour, and a nice alternative to the chain salons.

This little hair studio is located in a strip mall on Sackville Drive, and can be difficult to locate if you aren't paying attention. While I always make an appointment with my usual hair dresser, the 3's Company staff are great at fitting in drop-ins, and there are usually enough people working at a time to keep on schedule. What I've learned to love about getting my hair done here is how comfortable the environment is. The clientele is mainly women in their mid-teens or twenties and moms (my mom included). You wont find the most cutting edge styles or colors leaving through their doors but I've always walked away satisfied. That satisfaction is thanks in part to the compliments that everyone working gives me on every new do, but if it's a scheme to keep my business it's working.

Unfortunately, the haircut/style she received was not what she had asked for at all. What was particularly frustrating was being told during the appointment that the stylist was not going to do the requested style because my wife could not replicate it herself at home. If a stylist is unable or unwilling to provide the requested style, that should be communicated before cutting the hair, not after the service is already underway. My wife is normally extremely respectful and rarely complains in the moment, but she is genuinely devastated by the result. I have never seen her this upset about her hair. She is now considering going to another salon and paying additional money to have it corrected before we travel. She has been a loyal customer of salons in general and is normally a very generous tipper, so the fact that she left without tipping reflects just how disappointed she was with the service. Unfortunately, she will not be returning to this salon and would not recommend it to others. When someone spends approximately $400 and clearly communicates the style they want, they should be able to expect the stylist to either deliver that service or be upfront beforehand if they cannot.

I came in at 7 on a Saturday and gave the girl doing my hair a very simple instruction: I want curls but curls tend to fall out really easily with my hair. This is what I tell most of the stylists who do my hair and it seems to work well. She decided to do round brush curls initially. Which didn't work very well and was kind of painful as she had to de-tangle my hair multiple times, and there wasn't much curl in the end. She then asked if I wanted more curls in it. I said yes and she put some curling wand curls in it. It looked ok. It was $50 with a tip. Ouch... My hair fell out 10 minutes later and I ended up curling it myself and doing a much better job.
