Adriana was simply the best! I have gotten a lot of compliments on my haircut ever since I had it cut by her. I was pretty nervous going shorter with my hair, but her easygoing personality and kindness made the process easier. The only thing was I showed up on time for my appointment but didn't get started until 30 minutes into my appointment slot. They had someone else other than Adriana wash my hair and get me prepped after 30 minutes of waiting. Overall, they were pretty good at keeping covid protocols and social distancing. I'm not one to frequent salons, bc my time not working is usually spent doing things with and for my kids/family. Bc of that, I go to the salon only when I've reached a point of complete frustration with my hair. It's usually long, split ends galore, and any color faded wayyy out. My hair def needed some care, and I found this salon while searching in my new neighborhood. I messaged them and within an hour they had responded and after some back and forth to hone in on what I was looking for, I was scheduled for that same evening! The front desk was super friendly when I arrived, and Elicia was great and really attentive to what I wanted. This salon is a GEM!!! I went in for an all over refresh with Elicia. She started by moving up my extensions and giving me a gloss toner, which made my hair feel hydrated and luxurious! She then gave me a trim to even out the ends and styled my hair afterwords. My hair felt so healthy and refreshed! Elicia even talked me into adding black sparkly tinsel, BEST IDEA EVER! This is so late, I apologize but I ended up getting sick so now I have the energy to type this review for my appointment on 10/5. I had a really amazing experience at Salon One9! After getting a consultation (they emailed me back within the same day!), I was set up with my appointment. They asked what I was looking for and for pictures of the hairstyle I was considering and everything was dine in a timely manner. I got set up with Karen and she was so sweet and understanding! She helped me pick out which hairstyle and bangs would look good for my round face. She was so gentle in washing and cutting my hair. She even saved some of my locks for me to take home to donate to make wigs for cancer patients! She definitely took her time to make sure I was happy and satisfied with how my bangs were looking and how the length of my hair was! I really appreciated that. I absolutely reccomend Karen as she is very knowledgeable about hair and she takes her time in making sure you are happy with your haircut. I found Salon ONE 9 after a quick search. I've never booked a hair appointment through Yelp. They made it super easy to do so. The team and salon is pretty small -- it's boutique. They're not particularly personable but aren't closed off in any way either. They're more the kind of people that speak with purpose. I like it. I came in for a blowout and wish I knew the name of the girl who did my hair. Curls typical fall after a long night but the stylist promised mine wouldn't. And she was right, they didn't. Very disappointed in my visit here. Considering the multitude of 5 star reviews, I thought I had found a gem of a hair salon in West Covina. Unfortunately, here's what went wrong: 1. The first photo I attached is my "hair goal." The second is what I got. Clearly not the same. No indication from the stylists that it couldn't be achieved. I really paid $370 for my hair to be dyed back to my natural hair color. My friends and family have told me literally nothing has changed and it's definitely not worth nearly $400. Also, I got highlights instead of a full balayage. 2. They left the dye on my hair too long + got it all over my forehead and ears. Took a few washes to get it off my face. 3. Didn't lighten my hair enough. I wanted my hair to be as blonde as that first photo but they didn't get close to bleaching it that light. On top of that, Jeanne told me that my ends would gradually lighten to that blonde tone I want. I'm not too sure how my hair can lighten to a shade that's lighter than the bleach. It's been 1.5 months since I got this done, and I have brassy light brown highlights, just like what I had before I went in. No blonde anywhere. 4. Jeanne told me to text her for my before and after photos. I did. I never got them. 5. They charge a lot more than other larger, renowned salons so if you're really looking for a hair transformation that's worth the price, I suggest going to Bebe salon in garden grove or even aka salon in Irvine. This place is much better if you just want to get a simple haircut or dye your hair darker at an inflated price. On the bright side, Joanne was really nice. read more

I had my eye on Salon One 9 for awhile, but just never took the initiative to come in until last Friday! I was on my way home from work and have been itching to get a hair cut for months and decided to give them a call. Super fast and friendly service! They got me in within 20 minutes and were amazing from start to finish. Upon my arrival I was asked if I wanted any refreshments and they helped me within 5 minutes of being there. I believe my stylist was Victor! I apologize if I got his name wrong, but he was super nice and amazing!! I haven't had my hair cut in about 1 year and a half due to being scarred at another salon, but he ensured that he wouldn't do that to me. Got my hair re-layered after a silk treatment (omg my hair has been brought back to LIFE after this treatment), and got rid of all the damaged blonde hair. I wish I had a before and after picture for you guys, but I was blonde for the longest and allowed for it to grow all the way out now! Honestly, I cannot wait to come back for my hair needs and to get my hair colored after my wedding! In my eyes, I get what I pay for and they did not do me dirty here! During appointment day... when we showed up the stylist was unfortunately unable to cut short pixie type of haircut and only did mid-length.
