I first went there about 7 years ago. I followed my stylist to Salon Metric. She's pretty hard to get in to. Then I started working at a different salon as a receptionist. There I met Kayci. And she has done my hair ever since! I love a stylist who ask what I want done. Some times I don't know what I want and I tell her to do what she wants. And I always love what she does. Time for an updated review--- as my previous review stated, I've been going to Salon Metric since 2014. Time Flies! Hannah remains the most brilliant colorist ever in addition to being one of the most kind, intutive and lovely people on the earth. For cuts, I've worked with Hannah, Nate and Ian. They're all excellent! Recently, Ian really helped me out with a great cut and style when I needed it most. Yes, they are expensive but I believe their less tenured staff are probably priced accordingly. As a team, they have worked very hard to accommodate their clients in the midst of the whole COVID mess. It's appreciated! read more

Very happy with my hair!! Patti did exactly what I asked for! I was really nervous trying a new salon, as I've had bad experiences with trying new salons (haven't we all!) but I love my hair. For multiple reasons I will never go back to this salon. The unprofessionalism is out of this world. I try to give people/businesses a chance, but after they messed up 3 appointments in a row..... I was furious, especially after having to take off work for each of those appointments. Never once did anyone apologize, did they reduce the cost of the service, or escalate the issue to management. The owner doesn't take responsibility for their mistakes as well and doesn't lead by example. I would 100% not recommend this overpriced salon. The services provided are not worth the cost or their behavior. I have left many times barely satisfied with my service and not having the style I came in for. read more

**After posting this review my stylist sent my personal contact to information to a few of her friends who then posted on social media. That same friend threatened to call my boss in an attempt to get me fired- for posting a bad review about their friend... Don't waste your time or money here. This salon is mind blowingly unprofessional. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was going to this salon for the last 9 months. This was the ONLY time I made a complaint with the management/owner. I had been getting hair extensions and highlighting services throughout the last nine months. Two appointments ago I had my already lightened hair relightened and my extensions moved up, my stylist left the lightener on my hair for 40 minutes when she said it would only take 20mins to process. She walked away while I was processing and never came back to check on me. While I was processing I kept track of the time because I had to work as soon as I left my appointment, and when my stylist did not come back at the 20min processing time I started to panic internally. I looked around for the front desk personnel so they could at least go find my stylist, but they were no where to be found either. I debated if I was going to interrupt the only other stylist who was doing a haircut at the time, to go find my stylist (because it had been 40mins by this time) but didn't. I ended up standing up out of my stylists chair and walking around the salon floor waiting for her. In the following days I noticed my hair extensions and natural hair shedding aggressively and reached out to my stylist via Facebook. She responded back with she would look into it and that I was time to buy new hair possibly- she never got back to me. I reached out again days later after the first time-concerned she was uncomfortable with me confronting her on this, mentioning I liked the vision she had for my hair and that I would still use her for services, but she took the compliment and never actually looked into what was going on with my hair. She never followed up with me at all. So now when I came back two days ago for my move up appointment for my extensions, my natural hair was so severely damaged from it being over processed from the 40min processing time, that the weight of my extensions then trashed my hair. When she took my hair extensions out to move them up, I died inside because of the horrible shape my natural hair was in. I reached out to management the next day and after being bounced around having to retell my story to 4 people this salon did NOTHING to save the integrity of my hair. I am a busy professional myself and I told them I would be available on Saturday to have them remove my extensions, and after we agreed on a time (I moved all of my clients off my schedule to be able to make this appointment) I get a voicemail from the owner hours later telling me I would have to wait a week to come back to get this hair removed because he wanted to be there- obviously not taking the state of my hair into consideration- and he also insinuated I was being deceitful in my complaint. THIS WAS THE ONLY TIME I EVER MADE A COMPLAINT WITH MANAGEMENT. THE ONLY TIME! AND THEY COMPLETELY DISMISSED MY CONCERNS AND DID NOTHING TO HELP ASSESS THE SITUATION OF THE INTEGRITY OF MY NATURAL HAIR. just based off the management alone I would not recommend anyone go here for your services. If you do, make sure you know that it's okay to show up late to your appointment- my stylist rolled into work 10mins into my appointment- she had no apology about it After reviewing previous messages with my stylist on pricing- it was never what she had said they would be- she told me it would be $225 for 3 rows move up- but when it was time to pay it was way more than that. And also set a timer if you get color services- if I had said something to to stylist sitting next to me to have her go find my stylist my hair wouldn't be as trashed as it is. I spent well over $2k in the last 9 months- was a loyal customer driving 30minutes out of my way to come to this salon- giving shoutouts to my stylist on Facebook- raving to friends and other professionals about my stylist- and the owner questioned the validity with the ONE AND ONLY COMPLAINT I MADE. read more

I was only booked for a consult with Hannah but she made time for me to start on my hair. Super happy with the service and results this far. The salon was fabulous and the receptionist was very personable. Unfortunately the hair cut I got the from Anita (15 yr stylist or so I was told) was my first and my last cut at this salon. I took pictures to show what I was going for on a cut, mind you, something I had before. Anita kept telling me my hair was making her mad and by the way it was cut, I lost. I have cancelled my job interviews due to how embarrassed I am over the cut. Instead of a bad hair cut taking 2 to 3 days I believe this will take over a month before it came be fixed. If it wasn't so hot I would were a beanie. I gave her a tip, I felt sorry for her, something she has probably never seen before. I was also told this would cost 45 and I was charged 60. I wanted to get a trendy and stylish new haircut, and I had no idea where to go in Lees Summit. After doing some research, I found this gem in the downtown area. I set up an appointment with Leigh, one of the hair stylists. The decor in this place is so unique and trendy. The walls have amazing paintings that come from a local artist here in Lees Summit. The place is very welcoming, with welcoming people. Leigh is a very experienced woman, and very friendly as well! She listened to my requests and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted! I will definitely be returning for my next haircut. I highly recommend Salon Metric and Leigh to anyone looking for a great hair salon! read more

Went to Ian a couple of times for a color and cut. He thinks pretty highly of himself so his prices are too high for his skill set. He turned my hair blue and then charged me to take it out? $260 highlights only and it turned out awful! The only thing this guy is good at is stroking his own ego. read more
