When it came to booking my appointment, it was a breeze using online salon booking site. I needed to add a service so I called and spoke with Katherine, the receptionist. She was very knowledgeable, helpful and recommended how to schedule what I needed based on what I'd already booked. I'd met my stylist, Kierra, by chance earlier this week. I was extremely excited to experience her skills. Pleasantries were exchanged and we jumped right into hair color selection. We vibed! She helped me land on a color then we discussed my cut. I have to mention it's been awhile since I've experienced salon service and this was truly TOP TIER! We chatted during Kierra trimming my ends, which is all I wanted because I want to keep my length. She talked about where she was cutting and why. We talked about hair care, products I use and like, how to use certain products etc. Kierra told me my hair was healthy. Yay I'm doing good! Next to the coloring.. which didn't take too long. Under the dryer, welcomed the extra heat sensation! Offered water. Rinse. Wash. The color was t as vibrant or bright as expected so in counsel with Zaida (owner- fabulous woman), they recommended highlighting and not bleach. I'm guessing my porosity, but my hair didn't absorb too much of the color as expected. It could be from prior self dyeing which was over 4 years ago. Of course I was in agreement with no bleach and appreciated the explanation. So onto the highlighting process. Kierra is such a professional and very personable. Her technique is well seasoned and made me feel so comfortable the entire time! So in between all this I'm trying to keep warm, it was just a little too chilly but I'm always cold. Using the "Powder Room" was a pleasant experience too! It's compact but functional and stylish. There was a trifecta of luxury with Ouai Hand wash, scrub and lotion for utilization that made me feel like I was at a spa! If you can't tell I enjoyed my time here and after the highlights were applied and Kierra took such care in styling my hair and telling me how to shake out the cast and so much more... Zaida facilitated hair photo shoot.. I felt like a beauty queen. I LOVE MY HAIR! I'm definitely going back! All of the other ladies and stylists who were there, gave me so many compliments and hyped me up! I liked my beautician at Beauty Brands, but I kept getting that I can't wear my hair as long as I want it. And that caramel tones wouldn't look right. After googling ombré that was it. I finally called John. Today I went to have my hair done. ... ... By John. I love little individualized shops like Hot Heads. You get personalized hair color with no red tape...(in my case, that would be called caramel tape, which Beauty Brands didn't think would look good against my coloring.) My appointment was at 9:00. By 10:00, I had ombré hair and cool slanted bangs. He charged 80$, and that is to be expected. ....John.....I wish I could take John with me in my pocket so he could fix my hair every day. Actually he fixed it with an easy style. The cut is superb. The color perfect. Hot Heads also does nails and brow waxing. I know cause I asked. I plan on them doing my brows.
