Salon and spa de crist removed my google review. I went to Alexis in the summer for a simple multicolor French tip. She rushed through the appt and didn't fill in the French tip with enough color so there were white spots. The color she did add bled up into the nail bed. I had product caked under my nails. I paid $70 which was incredibly overpriced for what I got. I spoke up during the appt and still left unhappy. I had these nails removed a week later by another nail tech who validated my grievances. I will not be going back here. I should've listened to my friend who also said she'll never go back. The atmosphere was not the vibe and neither are the people that work there. read more

Very disappointing! Buyer beware! I made an appointment with a Senior Stylist only to have her rush through my color/cut and pass me off to an "Assistant" stylist to blow-dry and style my hair. This was never explained to me when I made my appointment. Had it been, I wouldn't have elected to try this salon. The price I paid reflected that of a Senior Stylist for the entire service (color/cut/style). On a positive note, this is in a terrific location in downtown Lee's Summit. The vibe is fun and lively with a very cute, up-scale feel. Their website is also very informative. I just wish I would have been more pleased with the color/cut/style service I received. read more

I started with this salon at the beginning of the pandemic. I appreciated their cautiousness and the measures they implemented to keep their clients safe. I cannot say that now. I walked in for an appointment the day before Thanksgiving and half the clients were without masks--which are mandatory in Jackson County-- and so many stylists had the masks down past their nose. It defeats every point of wearing a mask. I never felt safe and because of my age I am considered in the high-risk category. I love their new salon and I liked my stylist but I cannot come go back. I really wish safety measures were taken more seriously. read more

This place is too cute for words. The staff is very friendly and it's a relaxing environment. They offer everything from massages to haircuts and coloring. It's definitely a step in the right direction for Lee's Summit, and every time I come home, I'm going to get my hair done by Kylie :) I highly suggest coming to this place, as I have had a number of terrible haircuts for a much higher price. You know how some people just exude good energy? That is Nick at Salon & Spa De Crist. I went in for a massage with Nick, and it was hands-down the BEST massage I've ever had. I've had shoulder and wrist pain for the past 8 months, and post-massage was the first relief I've had since then. I immediately booked a second appointment, which was just as fabulous as the first. The salon is adorable, the spa is uber relaxing, and I felt at ease as soon as I walked in. Getting ready to book a third massage. If you're on the fence about it...JUST DO IT. I have been going to this salon for the past 15 years and I consider myself a patron for life! I have had multiple stylists over those years and each one was fantastic. There has only been one time in those years that I have had to go back and get something fixed, but I called them and told them and they were so kind and understanding. These people have hearts of gold and creativity coming out the wazoo. I go to a stylist who is way more creative than I am and sometimes I just don't know what kind of style to ask for - so I ask her about trends and what she thinks would look good on me, and víola! I always walk out with gorgeous hair, and ya'll... people compliment my hair all the time. Please go here and experience the atmosphere and the wonderful staff. You will be blown away! I do though prefer to get all my services by one person and some times they let their training people style me. I do not care for that but I understand everyone has to learn. Love love loved this place. I had such an awesome experience! Chelsey was a true professional (and so so nice!); I got balayage and a trim. It was the first time I've ever gotten anything more than a haircut, so I was definitely a little nervous. I'm so happy with how it turned out, Chelsey made it look like it's my natural sun-kissed hair. The salon itself is lovely inside (clean, bright and nicely decorated) and I bet all of their other services would be as great of an experience. read more

In theory, I really like this place. They have always been able to book a spot for my cut and highlight needs at the semi-last minute. They have always offered me water when I sit down. They are a new, locally-grown, girl-power initiative salon that sees their work as a salon a Christian ministry, even including the Chris Tomlin tunes playing throughout the very chic facility. It is for all these reasons that I want to give this place more than just 2 stars. However, in the last two times I have gone here, I have left highly disappointed. The first visit was ok, as I was offered a free cut with a highlight, though the bill at the end of the day didn't feel like it really included a free anything as it was pretty steep. No matter, I left with a decent haircut and color job, so no harm no foul. My second visit here, however, was heartbreaking. I requested the same stylist I had before, though since she's not much of a talker, I managed to try to use the time to bask in my own silence and catch up on magazine reading. The salon was preparing for their first open-house that evening, though even asking about the event didn't get me an invitation. Though I made sure to ask my stylist to make sure she cut all my dead ends off, regardless of the length, she only cut about a half an inch off. "Oh, actually, do you mind cutting off more? I know my split ends are crazier than 1/2 inch." She snipped a few pieces here and there, though not as much as I had asked, leaving me to ask again and then again to cut off more! Then I asked her to please cut a bit of a layer around my shoulders and chin to give me a shaped effect around my face. She acknowledged that I asked, though never followed up on the task. I didn't get a chance to ask again when I started telling her how my favorite part of getting my hair cut and colored was the way it is styled at the end after the blowdry. Not a second later did my hair gal look at her watch and bluntly say, "Oh, I gotta go - family stuff to do. You don't mind leaving with a wet head, do you?" And with that - she was gone, and I was left to not only pay a hefty $90 bill, complete WITHOUT a blowdry and style - which meant that I had to go home in the 15 degree winter weather with a WET HEAD. She didn't ask someone else to finish the job. Even the gal at the reception desk didn't raise an eyebrow when I paid a far too expensive bill with a totally wet long head of hair. Not cool to treat a customer like that, especially one that was so confident in your business. I won't be back. read more

Went in for basic natural looking balayage and came out with a total nightmare. I was there from 2-6! I had three dye jobs on my hair in efforts to fix whatever the stylist did to me. First, I was neon orange, next I was hot red/orange and finally, I was the little mermaid. No balayage or natural look ever occurred. It was a terrible experience and when I asked if she could continue to try and fix it, I was told the stylist had a pedi in thirty minutes....I felt like just a dollar sign and not like I was cared about. I've never had this bad of an experience at a salon. Do not go here. I have warned those I care about. Oh and I still had to pay $95 for this junk and my hair feels/looks so unhealthy. This salon is absolutely adorable and the staff is so friendly! I loved the warm atmosphere, but the reason I am not recommending this place is because I felt lied to. They said they knew how to work with ethnic/black hair, and when I went in for my service, they did not do what is needed for the health for my hair. This place is pricy as well, when I looked online for the price of my service I thought it was reasonable. I ended up paying $40 more than expected, and that was without gratuity. Janel, JJ, and Missy were awesome! At ladies night at the K, they had this awesome booth set up for multiple services!! So fun and all the ladies working were super friendly! JJ waxed my eyebrows and Missy painted my nails! I highly recommend them! They are an upscale salon in Lee's Summit, but took time out of their Friday evening and pampered the ladies! read more

Booked an appointment for 9:00AM on a weekday. Got to the salon at 8:55 because I respect everyone's time as important to them. 9:05 - I get bad feeling. I ask the receptionist if the stylist will be in? At 9:10 - no stylist and the receptionist calls. Guess what? She's at home. She didn't know she had an appointment. Receptionist informs me stylist is on her way. I asked "where does she live?." Receptionist hesitates, then says something like..."Oh....not too far away." What kind of place are they running there? Nobody suggested I could pay another stylist that was present at the time. Tick tock. Time is money. I got fed up with waiting and walked out and got it cut downtown Lee's Summit. read more

I travel with my husband for his work and finding a good salon in places I've never been before is always a shot in the dark....and a disappointment more times than not....I end up with a lot of bad hair! Not the case here! I picked this salon based on reviews online and booked an appt. online, as well. This salon has a really good feel about it! Everyone was professional and seemed genuinely friendly.....nothing snooty or uncomfortable. AND all of the stylists had good hair that they had taken time to style.....I think if you're job is doing other people's hair, you should be able to do your own hair and take the time to do it before coming to work! My stylist was Alyssa. She did a great job with my hair....cut and color. I had a few pics on my phone to help show her the direction I wanted to go and she got it. I believe there are people who took the courses necessary to get a license to cut hair and understand the technicalities (sometimes :P), but have no spark.....and then there are people who are creative and have a true talent with hair. Alyssa is one of the talented ones and it's evident she really cares about improving your appearance and has the tools and ability to do it. I'm so thankful I found her! I just wish I could pack her up and take her with me when it's time to move on to the next job! read more

Call me cranky but I was not too happy after leaving the salon. I walked in about a week earlier and was asking the receptionist about the free cut and color, she proceeds with tellling me everything is free and im like so I dont have to pay anything and she says nope so she schedules me an appointment. I go on my day and my hair was done beautifully I must add BUT they charged me $75. I am sorry but what is free about that. That is very expensive these days people just dont have that kind of money. read more
