I mean I can tell even by reading the review that the owner is a cheapskate and has poor communication skills instead of focusing on customer satisfaction. Maybe then you'd learn that underwhelming service and poor communication don't exactly scream "luxury salon." Reading the owner's responses to reviews alone tells you all you need to know: passive-aggressive, unprofessional, and clearly allergic to accountability. Sad to say, but this place really is for people who think half a pump of mousse is a flex. Unbelievable.

Alex to book an appointment with James, but since he's so popular he was booked. I asked the receptionist who else in the salon was good with color and she suggested Elyse. The receptionist also let me know that Janes would be in the studio to consult as needed for the color. The salon is adorable, and as soon as I walked in I knew this was the place to get that perfect funky color -- all the stylists had the cutest cuts and color. Nothing tacky or obnoxious, but rather Pinterest worthy hair all over the salon. Elyse came over and was extremely friendly. We talked for almost 15 minutes about my expectations and she eagerly flipped through all my Pinterest posts that I brought along for reference. She kept asking me for more and more details about what I exactly wanted, which made me feel like she really cared about getting me the results I most wanted. Additionally, she knew more about the style of hair I wanted (apparently called Galaxy Hair Color) and the results were fantastic. James (the owner of the salon) came over several time throughout my bleach / cut / color process to offer tips and suggestions (and also just to chat and make sure I was happy with the experience). He was extremely friendly and answered many of my hair questions that I've had for years (like what brushes I should use on my hair type and other little things). The entire process on my hair (which is down to my mid back) took about 5 hours and the salon even closed before my hair was done -- but Elyse did t care and told me that she wasn't worried about what time it was and just wanted to get my hair right, which she did. The results were amazing and I only wish I could back to Overland Park to get my hair done more often! Hand down, the most relaxed and friendly salon I have ever been in and the best work to be done on my hair outside of Los Angles and Las Vegas -- really amazing team with great energy. The place is clean and the wait is minimal. The prices are very reasonable. For under $70, I can get balayage, haircut, and style. Yeah, crazy, right? And it's quality work, not some chain that you immediately regret even before you leave. This place is usually busy but there are some times that are quiet because people are at work or whatever. They listen to your needs and make suggestions. If you don't like what you receive, they'll do their best to fix it. I've never received bad service here and always get compliments when I leave. If you want to feel pampered but don't want to break the bank, come here. Men also come here in numbers so that's a great sign!

Rocca in Westport, and luckily for me, Salon Nuvo in Lee's Summit. They applied my feather extension with an actual silicone bead, and special tools, during the Shopping Extravaganza in April, at the independence Event's Center. Feather Extensions last for 6-8 weeks, and I rode this one out, cause I loved it! Hair bling for me. Feather Extensions need to be removed before any chemical process, so when it came that time for the hair, I made the appointment to have it removed, thinking it was $5.00, which is reasonable, considering it calls away the beautician from someone's haircut or color. I arrived on time. There are 2 doors, and I entered the first. It looked small with only a couple of visible chairs, and the basic Redkin products on display. The place is actually 2 sizes as big as it looks, with the other room full of chairs, and sinks. I was greeted by the nicest employee, named Casey. Infact, the 3 women working were very pleasant, and acted like they enjoyed themselves. You don't always see this in shops. I went early in the morning, and it wasn't crowded. Casey is a very cordial and happy person. She removed my feather, and to my surprise, it was free!! She placed my current pink feathers in a bag, so I can use it the next time, but there are so many gorgous colors, I might choose a different feather. If I don't choose a different feather, the cost is only $5.00 for the bead. That's it. They can reuse the feathers. The feathers themselves, cost $10.00 each, and are ostrich, (I think.). I was very happy to not pay $5.00, and Casey got tipped for her work. I asked about prices, for haircuts, she charges $30.00. Highlights and color touch-ups are $45.00. I've used Beauty Brands for years, but, I kid you not, I'd use Salon Nuvo, if anything changes at Beauty brands with Rachel. And in a couple of days, I'll go to Salon Nuvo, and have them replace the feather extension. I think it's cool cause they are so close to where I live, and they provide this service, among other things.
