The stylist Amy, was super nice, friendly conversation. Loved her personality BUT, I am extremely disappointed with my results. I brought pictures, plus described the cut I wanted. I let my hair grow to shoulder length so she would have plenty of hair to work with. I wanted it short and tapered in the back, asymmetrical back to front, long in the front. A good angle. I wanted soft curls, so had it permed. I specifically told her not to cut my bangs, which were below my nose before the cut. I wanted them to grow out. She cut them. She gave me a straight bob, no angle and it's short! No amount of using a curling tool to soften works because it's too short and not styled correctly not layered correctly. She obviously rushed the cut to get to her next appointment. Won't return. MB read more

I had a horrible experience with Amy a few weeks ago. My hair was long and I asked her to cut 2.5 inches off and to keep my long layers. She cut more like 7 inches off and gave me short layers around my face. I can't wear my hair down now and I guess I'll have to wait several months to grow it back out and get rid of these horrible short layers around my face. FML read more

This review has nothing to do with the salon...only the stylist Amy. Leah, the owner, is extremely professional and this place is really nice. If you are looking for a well-run salon, this is it. Buyer beware. Avoid her if you like your hair. The more I look at what she did, the more it makes me really, really mad. I think she is new there...but seriously....a person deserves a crappy review when they cut your hair like this (pic). I went to Oomph to fix my previous mess that another salon did to me. Amy did a BEAUTIFUL color job on my hair. Totally spot on. Even despite the color I give this a 1. My entire issue with her is that she did not listen to one word I said about how I want my hair. I had a consultation and told her specifically what I wanted and she agreed that she could and would do that. The "soft" [her word] bob she gave me is horrible. Only problem is that I didn't want the layers or a soft bob and I expressed that I didn't want them. I wanted a BLUNT cut and I said it! Like Gone Girl. I don't even have any hair on the bottom of the bob to fix it. WTF??? Kinda makes me angry every single time I look at it. Let's face it....the pics speak for themselves So so mad particularly because now I just look at my hair in disgust. I never told her that she could cut whatever the heck that she wanted. I don't necessarily trust that she would give me what I want in the future or that she has capably do it. It just makes me mad that I sat there and told her what to do and she kept pulling up the crown of my head trying to make my hair look "big" and just totally ignored me. I don't want big hair!!! She had already cut when I realized what she had done. Nope....not going back. "see...don't you see how these layers make it softer." No, I don't see....what I see is 1/2 of my hair missing! Amy didn't slant the haircut as I had asked, either. There is NO WAY that she could have thought this looked good. Come on... She seems like an amiable person. But I am currently a really unhappy person. There is no fixing this...half of my hair is gone on the side of my head...that should have STILL been there!!! As an aside: I don't have any gripes about the business. It was clean, easy to find and had really good hair products. This assessment is my hair only. I've had two appointments at Oomph. The first was just a trim of layers - simple and done well. A follow-up appointment months later to cut length off was a mistake. I've waited a few days before posting to make sure I really did hate this haircut - I do. Issues: - appointment started over 20 minutes late - stylist seemed a bit unfamiliar with rates and services when I asked some basic questions - major issue - my haircut sucks. I went from long, curly hair to a bob. I asked for my longest layer to be just at or below shoulder. It is a full inch above. The layers do not work at all for my curls. So now I am stuck with a cut I honestly hate and that does not work for my hair texture at all. I may spend the next few months having to straighten my hair regularly just to look presentable. So glad I mentioned I like a "low maintenance" hair style and went in with my natural curls to show the stylist my natural texture. This is a small salon that has potential but they need more focus. Less snacks and beverages, more focus on updating the salon and training the staff. I will not return given the experience I have had. read more

This is a good salon! I got my hair dyed here and they did an amazing job! Very relaxing and the floor is very open! The only complaint is that it is very expensive. I got my hair dyed at it was $250. But, other than that- they did an amazing job! read more

I was only in town for a few days and my regular hair girl who always does an amazing job cancelled on me last minute so I had to come here. Did not get what I asked for (a good blonde highlight) even with showing multiple photos and explaining I wanted lowlights as well (which I didn't get) and was more expensive than my other girl even with the small bit they took off because I was unhappy. They offered to fix it the next day but I was too scared to go back. Really really bummed. read more

So happy to find this salon and Krysta. Do you know how hard it is to find a salon open on monday and at the last minute? We took our daughter to a salon and (now we realized) the stylist did not know how to cut her hair the way we wanted (like an asymmetrical bob). Thank god we found Krysta and Oomph Salon. The haircut was so bad. How bad? Like people thought my daughter cut her own hair kind of bad. Krysta fixed her hair perfectly which is really difficult. She had to fix someone's mistake.
