I've been benefiting from her talents for some time now and I can easily say she is one of the best hairstylists around. Harriet brings her knowledge and expertise and meets your vision to create an incredible experience and product for each and every customer she encounters. Sunrise Salon Studios is part of the Sola Salons system and, to be frank, I never knew Sola Salons existed prior to working with Harriet. I love the layout and I believe Sola Salons offers an amazing and safe space so professionals, like Harriet, can thrive! Harriet's Salon is a slice of fantastical meets fanciful! Harriet regularly attends conferences to further her education and it shows! Whether you're looking for bright and edgy color care, a bold cut or simple trim, Harriet's got you covered. I HIGHLY recommend her Salon and I hope you have the opportunity to meet this fun personality.

It was a straightforward website, easy-to-use, and very quick. I've had a lot of problems in the past booking online and often prefer calling to make appointments. But it was a breeze so I was off to a good start. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment with Shelby. I tentatively walked in and immediately relaxed. The space was beautifully decorated, there were items from local stores on sale, and the sweet sound of music wafted through the air. Yes, no loud clanking or gaggle of gossip to be heard. It was so refreshing and intimate! There are only two chairs so only two clients can be seen at a time. It's completely different experience than what I'm used to and I like it. Shelby is so sweet and calm. She met me at the front, offered me a beverage (thanks for the La Croix!), and took me back to where the magic happens. The actual salon is a small room with two chairs (but not claustrophobic) and bright windows with a plethora of succulents/greenery in every which corner. I loved it. Shelby listened to my concerns, offered a few suggestions, and started with a dry cut, wash, blow out, and then finishing touches to ensure everything is straight. I didn't go for a drastic change because I'm growing my hair our for my wedding, but I definitely wanted my hair to feel lighter and smoother. Shelby was amazing and thoughtful in her approach. I also really appreciated that she didn't think I was annoying because I'm a natural chatter and at one point, my friend even stopped by to say hi. Shelby (and Julie) were both very gracious and inviting. If you're looking for a zen salon and a totally different but great experience, come here. Ask for Shelby and she will take care of you. Thanks for the wonderful time!

Hannah remains the most brilliant colorist ever in addition to being one of the most kind, intutive and lovely people on the earth. For cuts, I've worked with Hannah, Nate and Ian. They're all excellent! Recently, Ian really helped me out with a great cut and style when I needed it most. Yes, they are expensive but I believe their less tenured staff are probably priced accordingly. As a team, they have worked very hard to accommodate their clients in the midst of the whole COVID mess. It's appreciated!

Having been in customer service for over 20 years, I really appreciated the good cust service from Chelsea. I had some issues due to past (bad) hair decisions. Chelsea had really awesome suggestions to add to the pic I brought. I have creative ideas for my hair and she just dug right in. I was already impressed, but then she took extra time to make sure she did a great job. There was one minor correction, which should be expected because hair moves. She cares about how you look and is interested in pleasing you with the cut. She takes very good care of her tools. And Covid precautions are fully observed. I have curly hair and finding that person who can cut your hair and not make want to scream is truly a treasure. I suggest you give this place a try and find out for yourself. To be honest, pricing for haircuts is hard for me to judge because where I moved from, $75 for a proper (read: not Supercuts) is pretty common. So the price for a cut is hella cheap to me. But for the care, attention, and skill the price is rock bottom.

Everything about my experience at this salon was amazing…read more I had considered getting a crazy color for several months and finally decided to take the plunge. I. Alex to book an appointment with James, but since he's so popular he was booked. I asked the receptionist who else in the salon was good with color and she suggested Elyse. The receptionist also let me know that Janes would be in the studio to consult as needed for the color. The salon is adorable, and as soon as I walked in I knew this was the place to get that perfect funky color -- all the stylists had the cutest cuts and color. Nothing tacky or obnoxious, but rather Pinterest worthy hair all over the salon. Elyse came over and was extremely friendly. We talked for almost 15 minutes about my expectations and she eagerly flipped through all my Pinterest posts that I brought along for reference. She kept asking me for more and more details about what I exactly wanted, which made me feel like she really cared about getting me the results I most wanted. Additionally, she knew more about the style of hair I wanted (apparently called Galaxy Hair Color) and the results were fantastic. James (the owner of the salon) came over several time throughout my bleach / cut / color process to offer tips and suggestions (and also just to chat and make sure I was happy with the experience). He was extremely friendly and answered many of my hair questions that I've had for years (like what brushes I should use on my hair type and other little things). The entire process on my hair (which is down to my mid back) took about 5 hours and the salon even closed before my hair was done -- but Elyse did t care and told me that she wasn't worried about what time it was and just wanted to get my hair right, which she did. The results were amazing and I only wish I could back to Overland Park to get my hair done more often! Hand down, the most relaxed and friendly salon I have ever been in and the best work to be done on my hair outside of Los Angles and Las Vegas -- really amazing team with great energy. Highly recommend.

When I got there, the lady braiding my hair was annoyed that I brought this up and didn't even blow dry it correctly...she literally just blow dried my hair without even combing it so there wasn't even a point in her doing that. My hair was still rough when it was dry. Why even offer to do it if you're going to halfway do it? When I took the braids down my hair was shedding so badly (I had 6 feed in braids) because she didn't put any oil in my hair at all and used that tiny comb to comb through it. I had long 4c hair and now it is shoulder length because of all the damage. Wish I could give them 0 stars
