This place saved the day and earned a new customer for life. I like to think my haircut is generally pretty simple, my part is easy to find, 3/4 of my hair gets a razor all around it... always went to the cheapest spots for it.. I had an important event coming up and had gone to my usual spit, missed the part completely, uneven on the trimming.. an overall mess. I looked for highly rated places hoping I could call and have a walk in to fix this mess.. Iain did a amazing job with the cut and was super inviting, great customer service and just an overall pleasure. I would recommend this place and Iain to anyone looking to get a consistent cut and great customer service. read more

Ive been following Elaine for years! She was the very first stylist my mom brought me to back when she was in Ridgewood. I currently live in Summit and have yet to find anyone who does highlights as well as Elaine. Elaine has cut and colored my hair for years. My last visit was only for highlights and she did such a great job! She had colored my hair for my wedding back in 2013 and when I returned to her last week the outcomes was the same. I am so happy with the color! Pics attached! So glad I found her at this new location. read more

Dylan was my stylist and he did a great job! I got single color and blowout. He was quick and efficient. Also, very nice and we had a great chat. The salon itself is also very nice and clean. read more

Neuland Milton has scored the trifecta with Dylan. His blows outs are superb, he is personable and very easy on the eyes! I have long, thick hair that get frizzy with less talented stylists. He has a technique that leaves my hair full and bouncy & looking like a movie stars. read more

I used a groupon for 3 blowouts and I enjoyed their service and friendly staff.

So, it's been over two months and I am still going to Dylan for my regular blowouts. He truly is amazing. When I am out of town and have to go somewhere else, it's never quite as good. Dylan gets how I like my hair and delivers every time!!! read more

This salon is great. My hair has never looked better and is complimented all the time. Sal is wonderful. He listens to what I want, but won't let me do anything he thinks will be bad for my hair. He just gets me. I found this on a groupon, and I know that I will not look for another salon. As for people complaining about appointment times, well, an appointment is just that- an appointment! Make a later one if you are afraid of getting stuck in school traffic, or leave earlier. read more

I've been going to Nelund Minton for a few yrs and the staff is very courteous, friendly and attentive. I love my stylist Liz she is so knowledgeable and I completely trust her with my hair. She knows what works and what doesn't for me. When I first went to her I had such damage to my hair from yrs of doing it myself she completely turned my look around. If you are fearful or not sure what to do please have a consult with Liz she'll spend as much time as you need to get it right. She's well worth the trip! read more

They have a groupon which is really affordable. Honestly I got the worst haircut I've ever gotten here though. I wanted a lob and the woman got so excited that I was doing a big change that she ended up cutting 8 inches off my hair. It was up to my chin with mullet layers. I believe the woman is actually a great stylist but she really did a number on me read more

Awful! Do not waste your time or money here. Because of school traffic, I was 7 minutes late for my 3:30 appointment with Jim. After waiting for 5 minutes, I was told that Jim had left to run an errand because I wasn't on time. (I then realized that the man already in his car waiting to leave the parking lot at 3:37 was Jim.) He would be back as soon as possible and that I should wait. At 3:50, I asked when he would be back and was informed "as soon as he is done", but that he had a 4:00 appointment coming in so wouldn't really have time to do my hair regardless. Apparently, Jim had somewhere better to be. I'm sure there are lots of better places to get my hair colored as well. Avoid at all costs. read more

Oy. I really hate to do this. Sometimes you know, you have to. I bought a Groupon for full highlights and a cut. I was given a stylist that apparently has ZERO experience with short hair. Or with highlights. Sigh. I went in looking foxy, and came out looking freaky! I have/HAD beautiful, short auburn hair with honey/caramel highlights - and I'm definitely that girl that gets complimented on her hair at least once a day by strangers! So, she was just, inexperienced. I really don't blame the stylist, I blame the management for allowing her to be the first (and last, most likely) impression of the salon. Bring in a new customer with a great deal, and then give them the most inexperienced stylist in the place? Way to get people to steer clear. And like the other reviewer, I agree that the staff were nice, and the stylist was nice. But nice doesn't help my hair. This is an upscale area of NJ, and for a salon to really make it, you have to have something special. TRUST is key. That's what keeps a client coming back. The minute you lose trust, it's all over. Mind you, I was upset the day this happened, and I realized I better not say anything to the stylist because I didn't want her to attempt to 'fix' it. As it was, she gave me "highlights" that were big blotches of brassy gold all over my head. My hair is short in the back. I looked like I had intentionally bleached a leopard pattern on the back of my head. She decided to 'fix' that with a brown dye, so now the top of my head was shocking blonde and the back was dark brown. I was in shock. Took a pic of myself to send my husband. I called the salon after I left and spoke with the owner. They had me come back for the colorist and the owner to both fix my hair. Mind you now, it was SO short after the owner tried to fix it, and even though I asked him to cut the neckline tight against the skin, in other words, close. He said no, that wouldn't look feminine. Sigh. So, the colorist was great, I mean, she just did a toner to tone down the blonde. But I had no problem with her, she listened and did what she could I guess. You can't really correct that kind of mistake. Even 2 months later, I still have blonde patches on my head. Not 3 weeks later I had to go spend another $65 at another salon to cut my hair the way I asked for it to be cut in the first place. My daughter had a similar experience. Her hair is long and straight, so it's easier, but her color also did not come out well. Just be careful when making your appointment, and go by a recommendation from a friend, or someone whose hair you admire. I'm sorry, I'm sure there are some decent stylists here, but this was my experience. read more

I highly recommend Liz: From cuts to color, highlights, updos she is my go to for when I want a big change or when I want to feel my most beautiful! There is nothing like finding a stylist that you can trust and who truly gets what you are looking to accomplish in terms of your hairstyle. Location is convenient, always parking available, and free coffee and bagels! read more

Thank you, Jackeline for the beautiful job on my wedding! Jackie met with me several weeks in advance for a make up trial and I knew right away she was the perfect person to do my wedding hair and make up. Jackie came to my home the morning of and expertly coordinated the timing of up dos and make up for myself, my mom, and bridesmaids. We discussed several hair styles via text message before the big day - Jackie offered such valuable advance and executed my chosen up do perfectly. Highly recommend Jackie...she's the best! read more

I have had MANY hair salon nightmares, but I have to say that Brenda was AMAZING. We had a great consult, and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I had long, dead hair (because of a horrible ombré experience) and she transformed my head. The only reason I give 3 stars is because of the highlights I received. Super streaky and way too light (after being toned down already). I will definitely be returning for a cut, but will be heading elsewhere for the color for sure. read more

Very very bad experience. Bought a 5 visit groupon for $75. Every visit I used to give good tip. Now they are not honoring my 4th visit. This is because I missed the appointment due to an urgent reason. read more

I followed Jacqueline here and she is amazing! If you're looking for highlights or color - 100% ask for her! I've gone from blonde, to brown, to black and eventually back to blonde... and she made me look fabulous every step of the way! She's great at hair cuts too. You'll pretty much always leave feeling like a rock-star. Everyone at Salon ID is friendly and the salon is comfortable. read more

Just had an express straightening with the owner Ian..I was very nervous that it would leave my wavy hair flat but it did just what Ian promised .... It just took out the frizz and left the hairstyle that has worked for me for years .... It made my month in humid Fla so much better. You can't go wrong with Nelund Minton... Brenda blew my hair out great also a couple of months ago... I have been coming here 15 yrs and never thought of leaving once read more

I am trying to find a salon I like to go to on a regular basis since moving back to NJ. So I bought a deal on groupon for this place and yes everyone was friendly and the stylist was nice but that doesnt help my hair. The cut is horrible I cant do anything with it. Some parts dont even look like they were cut. Just because someone uses a Groupon doesnt mean you can do a bad job. I would have come back as a regular customer but not anymore read more

Elaine at Salon ID is amazing!!!! She has been highlighting both my hair and my friend's hair years, and everyone is always complimenting us on our hair!!!! She is a great listener and always ensures your hair is just how you wanted it (but in reality it always comes out way better than you could ever anticipate!). On top of this, she's SO kind and it's always a pleasure to come to see Elaine! If you're looking for an amazing colorist, look no further than Elaine!!! Keep up the amazing work! Elaine is amazing! I made the mistake of going to a different salon (closer to home) and boy did I regret it! Elaine was able to correct my hair color and gave me an awesome haircut as well. I hate to have to write such a horrible review especially because everyone in this salon was so nice but I'm very upset with how my hair came out. I went here with a groupon and my hairstylist did not listen to what I wanted. She definitely didn't know how to deal with my hair's texture and length. Her name I believe was Kathleen or Katherine not sure. I asked for golden highlights and she made them so light that I looked like I left the salon with white hair at 27 years old! The cut was/is awful! I asked for minimal length to be taken off and she cut it up to my shoulders. Then the blowdry! Ayayayaya I walked out of the salon looking like a puffy poodle. I went back the next day after calling to complain and then was only given a glaze which I know is temporary and then was told if I wanted a blow dry I would have to pay for it... Ummm sorry but it was your fault that the color came out so awful and secondly after the first blow out I would not let the woman near me with a blow dryer and brush again anyway. I'm sorry but I will never return to this place again and I should've realized it when I walked in that this salon seems to deal with woman who are more in their 40's and over and most likely prefer a different style which is not mine. I have curly long hair and I wanted to keep my length and freshen it up not cut it and give me white streaks! I still tipped $20 because I'm not evil but I would never drop another penny on this salon. If you love your hair stay away from this place you will leave very upset! read more

I do NOT recommend Liz for haircuts. For the amount of money charged at this supposed high-end salon, it was the worst haircut I have ever received. My hair looks like a mullet, it does not flow smoothly and seems like it was cut by someone who just graduated from beauty school. They offer you a discount/bribe if you write a positive review on Yelp. Needless to say, I didn't care. My first time and last time there. read more

Jim Minton has colored my hair for almost ten years. I love the countless compliments I receive following my appointment.
