Adam did such an amazing job on my hair!!!! I have gotten 3-4 balayage done in my life and every time I ask them if I can go plat/silver hair. And they said no and ask for brunette and darker blonde balayage. So I asked Adam can we do silver plat but if we can't I can just do brunette / light brown /darker blonde balayage (based on past experience, I wanted to be realistic). But Adam said come in and we can try to get close to the silver /platt hair!!! And I was so excited! I showed him plat / lavender / purple mix hair pictures and he was able to achieve almost close to plat /silver hair! Some areas my hair wouldn't listen to the bleach but it the end it came out so nice!!! I'm like amazed and so happy with my hair! I have asian coarse hair that was colored before. First off the guy that did my hair was very nice and welcoming as well as the salon. When I sat down I told him I wanted to go as light as possible. I wanted to go platinum. I also had brass I wanted to eliminate. He told me yes we can definitely get it lighter, that won't be a problem since my hair was already light. However, stay clear of a stylist by the name of RAYMOND unless you would like to have your hair completely ruined. During a blow dry, he burnt my hair off. Dusty was highly recommend to me and I made a Saturday appointment... (I live 40 minutes away). I guess that was my 1st mistake. The second mistake was NOT finding out until well over an hour of WAITING in the Salon, (for my 10:30 appointment), that he ROUTINELY books 10-12 appointments per day!!! Here's the thing.... how inconsiderate of the "stylist" and how inconsiderate of the management, (knowing full well Dusty's M.O.) to NOT INFORM A POTENTIAL CLIENT UP FRONT... I asked after 30 minutes of my proposed appointment, what the holdup was & they said Dusty was running behind... I asked to see what station he was located at & watched him finish one client, (a slight build lady looking around 80 years old) and then walk to another station to assist another operator with a client around my age (60 year old) with a styling.. Here's the thing..HE COULD respect & consider dropping what he's doing for (3 minutes) and apologize to a new client for his overbooking?! RIGHT ... Honestly Ferial was a God sent. What was a mistake made by another salon made me learn how amazing Ferial's work is. I am brazilian and really picky with my hair. I didn't find anyone in United States that could properly "handle my hair" as I have thick hair. Her work is flawless and I mean it. Nazzi was recommended by someone whom I saw at Bloomingdale's, whose short "pixie hair" was cut & colored by Nazzi. The only hair stylist who could cut my hair "pixie short", prior to Nazzi, had moved to San Francisco. So I had to resort to letting my hair grow and maintaining a just-below-the-shoulder length cut, for years, because all the other hair stylists said that I wouldn't look good in short hair! The quality of the haircuts and the personalized customer service is unparalleled and worth every penny (not to mention the time im taking to write this review, which is rare for me). Elvis just gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever received in my 27 years. Not only did he give me exactly what I asked for--which says a lot because I'm picky and scrutinizing--but he improved on my usual style in a way that I'm going to incorporate going forward from now on. And he managed to do this even though the last person who cut my hair drastically screwed it up. So, Elvis was a life saver! I can't even begin to say how thankful I am for Elvis not only fixing my botched haircut but making me look awesome! I start a new job at a corporate law firm in one week, and we all know how important it is to look good when you work in a profession where you interact with other people. Now I'm going to start my job feeling confident because I know My hair looks great, and that confidence is going to help me make great first impressions at my new job, I just know it. And I owe that largely to Elvis! The haircut is great: it has aspects of both a chic salon cut on top and a clean barber shop fade on the sides. It's easy to style, and I can put it up in front or lay it down and slick it back. That is so rare. And it's hard to get the barber shop look that's so trendy these days anywhere other than a barber shop, where you risk coming home with a lopsided haircut because the barber just rushed through the job with huge scissors (that was what happened with my last haircut. The barbers are just so hit-or-miss, you never know what you're going to get, and so often barber cuts look good at first then a couple days later look uneven and lopsided). But I've never had that experience at a nice salon like this, where stylists like Elvis use careful techniques to give you that high-quality salon look on top. Seriously, I look like I just paid $100 for this haircut. Again, in addition to great haircuts, the service exceeded my expectations. Elvis is friendly, charming, and funny! He always makes me feels valued as a client, remembers my name, and makes me feel very welcome when I arrive. He even offers me coffee. Then, not before telling me a series of jokes which I appreciate, he takes time to ask me exactly what I want from my haircut, and makes sure I know that he's heard what I want before digging in. And then, throughout, he stays engaged and maintains friendly conversation. That's so important to me because I mucho prefer natural human interaction to awkward silence or the like. Simply put, Elvis is the man! I will definitely be back. I already have referred this spot and Elvis to my family and friends, and will do so in the future. Shawna Mealey is a goddess! The first time I came in, she spent three hours with me, taking me from red to platinum blond and gave me a Mia Farrow cut. I got so many compliments it was ridiculous! Then, because I get bored easily, I later had her take me to a dark brunette. She did all this with very minimal damage to my hair. Brazilian Blowout - Hair Smoothening Treatment I just got my hair straightened by YAYA at Salon Gregories today. The process took only 2 hours and now my hair is silky smooth. The nice thing about this is, unlike the Yuko System, it doesn't use harsh chemicals and it only uses a conditioning treatment to fill in the cracks in your cuticles. I don't have curly hair but it's wavy and has to be blow dried every morning. Hopefully after today, I can sleep in an extra 15 minutes every morning since there won't be any need for that anymore. I love it because it doesn't give you the super flat-ironed look. Looks very natural. read more

Love this salon! I started going here since my friend Adam Emmar works here as a hair stylist. His father Sami Emmar also works here and is also an excellent hair stylist. I've been going since June 2015 and my hair has never looked better! Adam is such a talented stylist who will magically transform your hair if you let him! He is really creative and skilled in his craft. I always let him cut, color, and style my hair and I always get compliments afterwards. I was pretty skeptical at first since he was my friend but now I am convinced that I will be a regular at this salon. I've been coming back every 2-3 months and I am so happy with the results each time. He also give the best scalp massages! I highly recommend him if you are bored of your current hairstyle and need a change, whether drastic or subtle. I recently got a dark brown color with subtle light brown highlights with layers for the winter. I usually like to color my hair a lighter brown or ombre for the summertime. I am really low maintenance on my hair, and I'm happy that Adam was able to cut and color it in a way that it looks great and maintains it's shape since I just brush before I leave the house. I also love going to see him since he curls it nicely so I can go out afterwards. Expect to pay around $70 for a haircut and $200 for color and cut, depending on hair length. I just had a haircut with Kara and a brow wax with Adrienne. Both are A+++. I love my haircut and my brows are perfect. My hair looks great, I just let it air dry this morning and it looks PERFECT, I love the layers. Both Kara and Adrienne are really fun to talk to. That's a plus but not a requirement from me. I go to a salon to receive a good hair and brow services, not to be entertained. As long as the stylist is not flat out rude, I'm a happy camper. I can sit quietly reading a book while I have my hair worked on. The girl at the front desk was nice and friendly. This salon is really busy with a lot of stylist working. I had my brows done first and I saw all the ladies as they came down to pay after they had their hair done and everybody looked great. There is a lot of talent in this salon. I have been going to Kathy Ice at Salon Gregorie's for YEARS. She has been my go to stylist for color and style for the past 20 years. There have been a couple of time where I got creative with my color and she is an absolute wizard at undoing whatever I managed to do to mess up my color. She also has such a great eye for cut and style; I will bring in a photo and she will explain to me why that will or won't work or how we can alter it to get a similar look with less styling work for me. I am always happy with her guidance and she has never steered me wrong. I drive from the I.E. for her services; there is no one better and no one that I trust more with my hair. Excellent, semi-luxurious spa escape. Joy was an amazing masseuse--just the right pressure! My only complaint is that the locker rooms/waiting areas were lacking in amenities that make up the luxurious spa ambience (I.e. a Burke Williams spa experience). The spa in general was smaller, and the locker room only had showers and an infrared sauna. However, the price is definitely right, especially compared to other spas in Newport.
