So this Salon is the place to go in lookin crazy and come out feeling good and lookin fly!! I'm very picky and my standards are high! This place is a one stop shop!! They have and do EVERYTHING! Nails, hair color cuts, massages, wax! And they have a cute store with all kinds of cute goodies!! The girls at the front desk are.very professional and attentive, they are not STUCK UP. The convenience of getting an appt was perfect!! It's immaculate in there. So Meagan cut my hair and people have not stopped complimenting me on it! She was sweet and outgoing and listened to me about what I wanted. Then jasmine waxed me!! OMG! It came out so nice looking! She made me comfortable! I had the best trimmed crotch in there! I am happy and satisfied, I will forever go back! Want to update my review So I had a 2:45p wax with the famous Jazmin on 9/12/18 but I came in a little earlier 1:30p to see if I can get a pedicure to relax and I was told with excitement that I could, I asked what types of pedis they had and I was told there was two (spa which is 1 hr and the 2nd one is 30 min well I wanted to relax so I did the spa 1hr for 50$ with Shelby, first she complained the whole time about the Vietnamese nail shops ughhh I wanted to tell her to shut up already! Then my toes had gel polish on them and she complained the whole time that she had to file them (but aren't you a nail salon?) she was worried about getting done on time before my appt with jazmin which I respect but shelby said if she doesn't get through all the steps to my pedicure that she would charge me for the 30 min one, when she didn't cut my cuticles I was bummed because now my toes were gonna look even more dry with the skin still around the toenails!! So When I went to pay they we're still charging me $50 but I told the lady in the front that Shelby stated she was not going to charge me for the one hour spa pedicure because she didn't finish, but Shelby told the lady at the front desk she did finish my pedicure so I was pissed because she didn't do the most important part and that was the cuticles and skin around the toes and I still left her a tip and paid the 50$ I should've gave her tip to Jasmin because as usual jasmin has them million dollar skills to give the best wax experience every time! Shelby needs to have some manners and stop degrading them other nail shops and maybe you should ask your guest upon making a spa appt if they have gel polish on their toes and that it will take time to come off, it's not my fault that you don't take off gel polish which is stupid when you are a nail tech and should be prepared for whatever! I took my chances even doing a pedicure with Shelby! I don't want my money back or some free shit, I want the time and relaxation she took from me because that's more valuable too me! I got my nails done by Shelby and she was amazing! The conversation was easy and interesting, I loved talking to her. I was passing through town with my husband and needed a last minute massage. They were very accommodating and kind to fit me in. I received a 90 minute massage and it was very good. She answered all my questions and made sure I knew what she was doing and why throughout my facial. I went to salon essentials on Thursday 9/20/18 with my two sister-in-laws. The salon is by appointment only. Don't show up early for your appointment, as there's only 4 chairs in the "waiting area". We arrived early, and found the salon almost empty with all the stylists standing in groups chatting. Even though they weren't busy, we couldn't get our nails done any earlier. I should also mention that they called us to reschedule for later appointments because they "accidentally overbooked". My one sister-in-law and I were re-scheduled for shellac manicures at 5:30. They came and took my sister-in-law back about 10 minutes before her appointment. They didn't take me back until almost 6. I picked an awful shellac color (my bad) and the girl painted over it for me. By that point though, she seemed to have lost interest and was rushing my nails. She didn't remove any of the excess shellac that fell onto my cuticles. The edge of one of my thumbs smudged, and she just "smoothed" the polish instead of fixing it so there's smudges on my nail. By Monday, the paint had already started to peel around the cuticles. Today, the polish has started peeling off completely. I woke up from a nap today and was missing polish on a nail completely. So, their shellac manicures don't even last a week. I don't do much with my hands, so it's not a case of "oh I work with my hands, this is to be expected". Not even remotely. All three of us were scheduled for pedicures at 6:30, and they once again took my first sister-in-law about 10 minutes early. They took my second sister-in-law right on time. Since my nails started so late, my pedicure started about 10 minutes late, yet somehow I was the first one done. Also, not a single person in the salon knew how to do designs or anything "fancy" for our nails. $65 for both a shellac manicure and a pedicure is a rather decent price, but after tip, it was $95. I don't think this experience was worth nearly $100. I'm giving 3 stars because the pedicures are still perfect. read more

I have been going to Salon Essentials for two years and have never ever ever had anything but a good experience. My stylist is experienced and amazing and the couple of times I had someone else do my hair they were just great. The prices are great compared to a certain Aveda salon I went to when I first came to town and the stylists are just as good if not better. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. I think the person who wrote a bad review is an anomaly. They also have a military discount at this salon. I gave them 5 stars because for the most part, they have been amazing. There is one thing I didn't like - I have an Ombré and I asked for a root touch up. The stylist and I discussed a level of brown with warm tones, but instead of using a red, the beautician used a purple. Everyone said they loved my hair, but I was not happy with the color. I just enjoyed a couple of hours with Hollie! She gave me a terrific haircut, and beautiful color and highlights. I am just thrilled with the results and I have been doing this for a long time so I am pretty picky. She took her time and made sure that it was exactly what I wanted. As a new client I went in requesting a specific cut. The girl I was scheduled with had no problem telling me she couldn't do my cut so I was put with Katie and got the best first time cut ever! The other stylist stood and watched and learned from Katie who said everything I wanted to hear from an experienced and skilled stylist. Very happy. Won't go anywhere else now. I had my hair done there before and it was terrible. Firstly, the girl who did my hair did highlights on my darker hair and after an entire hour, they didnt even show up. So, she asked if I wanted it redone and when I said yes, she walked away. Next thing I knew, I was passed on to another stylist who did it. When she put me under the heat dryer, she said she had to pass me on to someone else to wash and dry it because she had another customer. And finally, the last person washed and combed my hair and told me they had another customer so they said they wouldnt be able to dry and style it for me. On top of it all, it looked TERRIBLE F- PS. the Managers or completely unreasonable. Did not get my money back or an apology. A friend tried to get a massage there and received a terrible rash because of the weird oil they used and the sheets they had, had holes in them. VERY unclassy. read more

I enjoyed my first visit for a CND shellac manicure, lines detail was great and so was the price. However, when I returned for my next CND shellac manicure the lines were very sloppy, my nails were cut uneven and had sharp corners that caught on everything, Within a week a nail had broke from catching on everything. Not to mention, the price went up $10.00!!! I have been having CND shellac's done for 3+ years and have had a wonderful experience with it, as well as my nail technician. The place itself is big & nice. The menu has a great variety from nails to massage to hair and tanning just to name a few. I went in w/ a friend. She went in for a trim and I for a massage. I massage was ok, but felt it could have been better. I asked for a deep tissue massage & instead received a Swedish massage. I did not say anything to the therapist because she was very nice & I felt bad. As far as my friends trim....we were quoted $38 for it that included wash & style. They charged her $10 more, only scheduled her for 30min (so the stylist rushed) and her hair did not receive the wash as previously told & no hair products like serum were ever applied. I went to Chelsea for my hair about a month ago and LOVED it! I had gone somewhere else in Manhattan and received a bad haircut. Chelsea was able to fix the cut, and do highlights and low-lights very well! I loved my hair when I left :) The salon looked nice and clean and had no strange, abnormal smell when I was there, like the other review indicated. This place is beautiful inside and looks inviting and relaxing. The staff seemed nice enough and my particular masseuse was pleasant enough, however that was it. I requested a signature massage and a reflexology for my visit. When I first get into the massage room Christie, my massage therapist asked me what areas that she should focus on and I informed her my back. The table was heated nicely and then it went downhill from there. The whole massage was very choppy and not really relaxing. I mean there were occasional times when it felt OK but it only lasted a few strokes. There was never any focus on my back. Christie informs me that this is her first massage and she's forgotten to do a few steps of what she was shown to do the day prior. I was so underwhelmed from her massage but again she was a nice person and I enjoyed the few moments of our conversation. She informed me she would also be doing my reflexology and again this was her first time. So we had to wait until one of her coworkers also had a reflexology client so she could mirror his actions! Oh my goodness! So for my massage and my reflexology It felt like a total lotion rub! There were no reflexology points to my feet, there were no strategic pressure points or muscle relaxation to my massage. It was a big disappointment. When I informed the front desk of my experience they acknowledged that she was new and she may need a little bit more training. You think? My question is why are you allowing a person who's only been working a month, who has no prior experience attempt something that a customer has to pay full price for? For her growth and development for your customers experience, train her to the extent it matches what you are charging. I will not be back. read more

I am not from Kansas and have been here for about a year. Its been horrible trying to find a place to do my eyebrows. I specifically told the women that I did NOT want my eyebrows to be thin and round, thats exactly what she did! She asked me if they were ok i told her one eyebrow looks a little blocky, she then asked if I wanted her to fix them. I told her that was ok bc to me they were thin enough!
