Ive been getting my hair colored at Salon Eleganza for years now and I highly recommend the salon. What really struck me was the friendliness of the owner and the staff. They are very personable and also will take the time to discuss your hair and what would look best for you. They act like they are happy and want to do your hair and not like they are just doing it because it's their job. I give them 5 stars because the owner and staff are friendly, the salon is beautiful and clean, the staff always do a great job with giving you what you want, I always get tons of compliments after they do my hair and they are quick if you tell them you only have a short amount of time ( I have three kids and not a lot of time ). read more

I called the salon several times the other day hoping to get a quick haircut with a stylist I've had before, no one answered my calls so I took the chance and walked in. The salon is very large but only one hairdresser was working, she told me she was booked for the day. I asked If my previous stylist Amelia was available in the upcoming days and found out she was no longer there. It doesn't seem that this salon can keep a hairdresser longer than a couple months!! I'm not sure why they have a sign promoting walk ins if they don't have the staff available to fulfill. Although this is a beautiful salon, they are clearly doing something wrong here and after such a high turnover rate, the owner should think about doing some things differently. I sincerely feel for any stylist who has been selected to cut my hair. I have lots and lots of hair. My hair is thick, frizzy and very hard to cut. The best cuts I have received have always been by Asian stylists because they know Asian hair well, unfortunately I live in CT so every 2 months or so I'm always on the search for a new stylist. I called Tuesday and got an appointment for Wednesday. Dark stained wood with crystal chandeliers and silky tapestry. I thought to myself impressive my dream closet! I tried containing the excitement because I didn't want o get all worked up and then leave with a disappointing cut. Brief history of my hair: been every color of the rainbow, multiple Japanese straight perms, keratin treatments etc. Linnette was the stylist who worked on my hair. Before starting I was offered, water, tea or coffee. She was very patient and had a calming voice. She went through the consultation with me and we discussed the results I'd like to achieve. I ended up taking 3 inches off my hair. I'm not one to worry about hating my hairstyle because I ALWAYS hate how my hair comes out. Many people simply don't take enough time to work on my hair to give it a real chance at looking decent. Linnette did an amazing job on my hair. I left feeling amazing. The cool thing about this salon is that its owned by the Mazzicato family. Kelly Mazzicato is the owner and apparently her husband runs the bakery next door. After my haircut I went over and had a gelato. BTW 2 scoops is $2.50 now!! Linette was patient and I give her lots of credit. I've gone to stylist in the past who often would complain about the condition of my hair prior to cutting. If I could cut my own hair do you think I would seek your services? If anyone is in the area and looking for a new stylist to try give Linettte a ring. She works Wednesday and Saturdays. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. This place is hardly able to be called a full service salon. Things seem to have really slipped here, it started with never getting a phone call returned after leaving multiple voicemails. Then, I found out ANOTHER one of my stylists left a few months back and to top it off I had the worst experience on the phone with the ditzy owner - which made it very clear why she cannot keep a single stylist on staff. She talks in circles and clearly has no idea what customer service is. The turnover rate is unbelievable. In any other business, staff is somewhat replaceable and I'm under the impression this owner must be treating her licensed staff as if they're not only replaceable but disposable. Every time she loses one of these licensed professionals, I don't think she grasps how negatively that affects her "business." No one wants to go someplace where the failure is THIS obvious. I've tried to stop in for a quick wax since and the spot was closed up and dark in the middle of a Friday?! Turns out they're open for appointment only? The salon is beautiful and clean/tidy, but I went in for a blowdry/straighten and would have to say it worst blowout I have ever had, They used no product or heat protectant spray in my hair. While it was being straightened the first girl was trying to flat iron it in big chunks and I had to ask if she could do it smaller sections, which she should have known. Half way through my appointment diamond finished off my hair which was fine, but it does not have that pin straight look or the silky feeling. I had my first haircut at Salon Eleganza yesterday, with Jess. She was super sweet and took the job very seriously. I have a crazy hair line in the back and unlike many other stylists that I have been to over the years, she took her time to really figure out how to work with my hair. I received compliments on my hair cut from strangers literally 15 minutes after leaving the salon. I've already scheduled my second appointment and can't wait to go back. I decided yesterday, that I was going to finally go get my hair cut. I have been sick the past couple of years, unable to work and quite honestly, my hair was the last thing on my mind. I'm starting to finally gave some good days in my week so I knew it was time! I called Salon Eleganza yesterday after 5pm asking for an appointment. The girl who answered the phone was very helpful, I expressed a bit of urgency, she got me an appointment with Jessica for the very next day! Today! I was happy about that. I walked I and Jessica was the person who greeting me, introducing herself. It was kind of funny because I had only booked an appointment for a haircut, but this morning I starting thinking highlights may be a good fix too. As I went to tell Jessica she almost finished my sentence confirming that she definitely agreed that platinum highlights were the ticket. I told her I was also wanting long layers, as I have long hair and I didn't want to lose it, just needed some style and refreshing. I asked her opinion and she agreed. So right away, we were hitting it off and both on the same page, which is so important when your handing over your hair to someone who was just a stranger 5 minutes ago. Before I knew it, I was being turned around to the mirror. I didn't even expect it to look as good as it looked! I took a deep breath and was just like WOW!! Jessica was happy with her work too and she should be! She did a WONDERFUL job! I'm so glad Salon Elganza is just across the street from me because I will most definitely go back, I will be asking for Jess, but I'm pretty sure that this Salon has several talented hair designers. read more

I've had both a haircut and mani/pedi here, both with Groupons. The salon is very neat, clean and nicely decorated, but the services were sub-par. The haircut was uneven and the tussled blow-dry made my hair frizzy after. (When not only did I tell the stylist that I straightened my hair with a blow dryer daily, but also came in with that style). The mani-pedi was also extremely disappointing--talk about bare bones. I feel like even the groupon + tip was too much for what I got. When shaping my nails, I asked for them to be squared, but rounded at the edges--exactly how I came in. They got filed so straight across the top, I needed to ask her to fix it so I wouldn't cut myself on the sharp edges. Some were crooked. The dry skin at the sides of my nails was not cleaned up at all. The paint job was terrible (even my husband noticed). It was applied streaky (you can clearly see where the first and second coats are, because they don't cover the same area), not all of the polish extends to my cuticle, and it was applied too thickly, so it looks sloppy. The top coat was filled with bubbles--when I politely noticed this, she fixed it by applying another coat over it--not a fix. Neither the mani or pedi include any kind of hand or foot/leg massage, which is typically included in these. There is just one chair for getting nails done, so you cannot go with a friend. They also don't have nail dryers--so you can sit around hoping they dry, but it's a gamble. Mine didn't dry after 1 hour+, causing me to get dings in it after I left and was being extremely careful. I definitely won't be returning for this service. read more

I am with Mb.p I am so glad I did not pay full price for a mani/pedi and didn't get my groupon worth either. This is most definitely to get salon bizz for hair and after the service i had I wouldn't even recommend that. The place is cold and not warm at all. They left me in the chair 50% of the time either cleaning up, going to get something, talking to each other (and stopped the service) and checking their appt book......if you are planning on using your groupon I would save the hour and a half and go get coffee and pasty next door.....VERY dissatified! read more

I have always went to a lady in Bristol to do my hair, so I was quickly looking for a stylist. At first I was a bit skeptical on this place, but as soon as you walk in it was an amazing and calming experience. The place was spotless. The lady was extremely patient and did an amazing job suggesting what would work for the style I was going for. She colored my hair wonderfully and blow dried it. She even curled it!! I will definitely be going back. I wish I knew the name of the girl, but she has curly hair and a flower tattoo on her right arm. read more

My cut was not even and it's been 2 weeks I still can't get it to do anything. Was suppose to be cut so I can part my hair middle or either side and none of it wooks. I go on Sundays when a man's haircut is twelve dollars. Great deal, and Stephanie is my usual stylist. She is fast, super friendly, and efficient. Nice location, the only downfall is avoiding temptation of going to Mozzicato's for something sweet next door lol. read more

Once again I am left without a stylist , this place can not keep a good stylist. I received yet another call from the owner telling me that Stephanie is no longer with the salon , as she began to tell me she had to do what was best for the salon and that " these girls just don't want to listen or follow rules " all I could think was maybe the best thing to do would just be to close the doors. I had a groupon for a mani-pedi and definitely got what I paid for. That is, 50% service. The mani was sub-par, no cuticle cutting, streaky nail polish application. The pedi was laughable as it didn't include any exfoloiation just a simple soak and polish. Obviously, this is a HAIR salon and they do nails as an add-on but the service I received should not have been called a mani-pedi, it was a blatant attempt to get people in to the salon to sell them on their other services. I had a haircut by Nicole. I have long hair and she asked me what I wanted and after she said: " I know exactly what you want", she.... chopped my hair so bad, it will take me MONTHS if not YEARS to grow it back :( Even though she kept the length like I asked her, she layered it so bad that I was not able to do anything with it. My girlfriend went to this place for the first time on a Saturday afternoon and it will be the last time. She paid $220.00 plus tip to have a keratin treatment and a color (black). Later that evening, she discovered there were red streaks in her hair. She called the salon to inform them and asked if she could have it corrected or be reimbursed for the service because she was very dissatisfied. They told her to come into the salon, which she did. Then they told her "we did what we had to do" and there was nothing they could do for her. They refused to rectify the problem, then told her to "have a good day...go about your business....we cannot do anything for you, we did the job right, etc." I noticed that there are multiple other bad reviews (1 star) of Salon Eleganza in Plainville. So I am not surprised that my girlfriend received shoddy customer service. read more
