Simply put this was the best haircut experience I've ever had. I hadn't cut my hair in 3.5 years because I felt like as a guy it was hard to find a salon or to just walk into one. So, I went online and through yelps bad reviews on other places they mentioned just go to Aveda so that's how I found the salon. I did some research Liking what I saw on the website a lot I got the courage to just walk into the winter park location to make a needed change. I was nervous but that quickly went out the window because the person up front was so kind and accommodating didn't make me feel awkward at all then offered me my favorite flavor of La Croix sparkling water! Shortly after filling out the form they got me with my now new stylist Madalyn. I showed here a picture of the style I wanted then they asked me questions about my cut I didn't think of to make sure it was done correctly and the whole experience felt like I had been going there for years. Madalyn also helped me out so much with the best haircut I've ever gotten and showed me how to style it and everything! Very thankful I found this place they are down to earth with lots of talent so I'm very glad I decided to step in and hope this reviews helps other guys who don't know where to go. I scheduled an appointment and sent over pic of my hair and the inspiration hair. After arriving I was told that they don't have time to do my hair. I insisted and asked for a full color. My hair turned out super dark and didn't have a natural look like I asked for. The blow out was a complete joke. My hair was super flat, I do a better job at home. The salon was empty and seemed like they were more concerned about getting paid and covering their butts by making me sign a waiver vs giving the client what he wants. Seemed like an expensive salon with very poor quality of service and knowledge. read more

Excellent salon packed with talented stylists. I have been coming to this location for almost 5 years now. Stylist are ranked at different levels which correlate with pricing. While on the topic of price, it is a more expensive salon. But I do think it is fairly priced given how knowledgeable and how attentive the stylists are. They really work with you to determine what styles are and aren't going to work for your hair type. This includes coloring too. This is also the most accommodating salon I've ever been to. If I could give zero stars I would. Went for a face wax and had to wait 35 minutes plus after they rescheduled the appointment time once already. Not to mention, they wax your face as soon as you walk in the damn door. No privacy whatsoever. Even the Asian salons take you to a room for a wax. Also, the wax itself took entirely too long because she didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. Avoid this place at all costs. Had high hopes for an Aveda salon and will never return. read more

I had a nightmare experience 16 hours prior to my appointment in none other than my own bathroom thinking I was skilled enough to give myself highlights. What a disaster that was! First thing my partner does for me is book me in for next salon with an appointment available the very next morning. I landed in the most precious hands of Allysia and I can't begin to express how fabulous she transformed my hair. Not only did she completely get rid of my orange bleach job but she absolutely brought my hair back to life. I had no idea what color would fix the brassy orange roots I had given myself and she stepped in for the challenge. She gave me the most magical highlights with some brown touch up color correction and there I was, glam as ever. Everyone at the salon was extremely kind, helpful, and straight up fabulous! Allysia made sure I didn't leave without truly loving my hair, the owner asked me how I liked it, and they even gave out a sweet little Christmas goodie bag with mini products! I was in town for a work conference and needed a blowout. From the moment I walked into the salon. My experience was excellent. I was very warmly greeted, followed by probably the best shampoo experience I've had in a calming beautiful room with a reclining comfortable chair, a scalp massage and complete with aromatherapy and a warm towel. AVOID. My beautiful hair is gone. I had to pass up a job interview and have not gone out since I washed my hair. It's too short to put behind my ear, too short to put up. I have thick bangs. Ruined my hair. Gave me thick bangs wheh u spent two years growing out a thin bang. Lost 50%of my hair in a trim. I now have to pay 2-3k for hair extensions every four months for two years. Just had to go get it blended. It was a huge mistake to visit this salon and will cost me about 10k for hair extensions for two years if someone is going to chop most of your hair off to blend it the should show you. Framing my fave meant I lost the sides. It's a hopeless disaster I have to live with for 18 months. read more

Preface: Salon Dulay's new location on Mills in Orlando- great choice during the pandemic; I felt safe and the environment was very clean! Went to Salon Dulay on Mills in Orlando today to get my hair color corrected from purple to blonde! An impossible task you might think, but nothing is impossible for the lovely, talented hair stylists at this new location!!! My stylist took great care of me the entire time. This was a long process and she was upfront with me the whole time about what treatments she was going to do and how long it would take. She even offered to complete the highlighting process in another session to ensure my full satisfaction. I'm so pleased with the results just from today- my hair looks, feels, and smells amazing! I think their location on Mills is Orlando's best kept secret right now, since their other salon is completely booked up. I went to Salon Dulay in the Mills District and was highly impressed. Jordan cut my hair and the cut is perfect. She listened to what I had to say and I am so happy with the results. I then went back for highlights, which were done by Reina, and the highlights look great. I got the complimentary arm/hand massage with my shampoo each time which was so relaxing. The fact that I was able to purchase Aveda products was also a big plus for me! I am so happy to have found a nice salon where I feel comfortable. Amazing experience. Upon arrival I was warmly greeting and offered a complimentary water (regular or sparking) or soda. I was promptly taken back to begin my service. I had been wanting to do balayage for some time and finally decided to book. I showed my colorist, Cristalis, some photos of what I wanted. I have very dark brown hair that was virgin at the time. She was upfront about what to expect since my hair was so dark and still virgin. She asked all the right questions to ensure my color came out exactly how I pictured it. She made sure to explain each part of the process as she went along. Cristalis was very pleasant and made conversation throughout. My favorite part of the whole experience was definitely the final shampoo. It was like a mini spa experience. Warm towels and aromatherapy paired with a hand and arm massage (she did use gloves for covid safety). I'd come back for just a shampoo if I could lol. She blow dried and styled my hair beautifully. I was receiving compliments all day on how great my hair looked. She really did such an amazing job. I would not hesitate to recommend her or book again! read more

I had the best experience at this salon today! I am 7 months pregnant I'm in Orlando on a vacation/business trip and I needed my hair done so bad. I had pushed it off for to long, the reason being the last 2 times I had my hair bleached in NY it was burning so bad! So when I called and explained to the receptionist at Salon dulay they told me not to worry that they have just the thing to help from burning. When I arrived I had my 5 year old daughter with me that has the most biggest personality and a lot of energy. The girls there were so nice to her and listed and talked to her the entire service I'm pretty sure they answered everyone of her 1000 questions!!!lol I was so happy with McKenzie she did my bleach and I never even felt a tingle or a slight burning sensation I was truly impressed and my color is beautiful and exactly what I asked for! I cannot remember the lady's name that did my cut (sorry prego brain) but I showed her the cut I was goin for on my phone and she did not disappoint!! I'm super sad to write this, but I don't want anyone else to have my experience. I was a loyal customer for nearly 2 years-- never late for an appt and only had to cancel once-- when I got COVID in December. I was 5 minutes, FIVE MINUTES late today because I had a student in crisis and Mikinzi's next appt arrived early. She took that appointment and wouldn't even put me down for that customer's time which was only 15 minutes later than mine. She couldn't give me the benefit of the doubt, call, or wait FIVE MINUTES? Apparently, loyalty only goes one direction there. I'm still in disbelief at how dispensable I was made to feel as a loyal and dedicated customer. Oh, I teach high school where all my girls ask where I get my hair colored and cut. You can bet I'll tell them where not to go. Disappointed to say the least. Go somewhere else, where you and your money will be valued in good times, and when the economy dries up. Very short-sighted of them. read more

I really needed to get in at a local salon, SUPER last minute. I had product build-up and couldn't get rid of it. Salon Dulay was able to get me in that very same day and fix my problem. It was beautifully decorated (loved all the greenery) and everyone was so nice. When I went to leave, they even gave me free samples since I was a new customer. A week or so later, I got a handwritten card in the mail thanking me for coming in, hoping I enjoyed my visit, etc. and Jen (the stylist who helped me) signed it. THIS is how you build relationships and keep clients. I loved the personal touches and how it felt sincere (handwritten and personal as opposed to a generic printed card). I didn't really have a "go-to" salon after my hairstylist moved a bit too far for convenience's sake, but I'm very happy sticking with Salon Dulay.
