We arrived a little early so I would say maybe coming after 8 might be more of a crowd, unless you like the quiet then come for 7.. it's a beautiful well decorated court yard. One of the servers did speak Spanish and me or my partner did not but we were able to all figure it out. For the menu they had some items like pizza, flat bread, burgers, charcuterie cheese board, pastas. The burgers were dedelicious and we got the cheese board. The only issue was the cheese board is 35$ which I think is a little to high and it did not come with any meat. Drinks were made good, no issues there. Third time experiencing terrible service. The first time I came here, I ordered an iced coffee and was given a hot one instead (in 85° Miami heat). When I politely told the waitress (the young, light haired woman who's usually there) that I had ordered it iced, she shrugged, said "too bad," and walked away. Today, I was yelled at after I paid because I sat in the hotel area after my meal. It's a pattern and I feel bad for the owner who probably has no idea how this place is being run. I wish it could work out because I love the trees and I live nearby which is why I've given it multiple chances, but the bland food and horrible coffee are not worth being treated this poorly. It really makes people regret spending almost three times the price on food that they could get literally anywhere else in Miami. Seriously shame on you guys for being so disrespectful. read more

It's a charming and peaceful outdoor space, which you'll need to manage your nerves for the awful and rude service. The servers couldn't care less. I ordered a vegetarian omelette and was served one with turkey. When I told the waitress she acted as if I was the one with the problem. I had to get up three times to ask for milk and the check since the server was to busy on her phone to remember we had asked for both several times. And everything takes forever. The Cafe has a nice atmosphere with great decor. The menu is a bit small with only around 10 items. They have a great selection of cocktails and drinks. Quaint, hidden away café not far from the bustling street Collins Ave. I especially love that you're surrounded by greenery, which is a perfect start to your day. I got a latte with almond milk and the homemade empanada. The latte was $7 which is a lot given the rather small size, but tasted fine. The empanada had a lot of flavor but was pretty burned on the bottom, perhaps from being reheated for too long. My partner and I were on our way to another restaurant. We happened to have parked right outside this place and it looked pleasant, so we stopped here instead. We never ended up going to our initial intended destination because this place stole our hearts. It is cute, charming, and aesthetically pleasing in all the ways. It is a small, quaint, calming, well lit, romantic environment with live jazz, and WONDERFUL AND FRIENDLY service (which I might add is rarity in Miami). After a long work week, this was the absolute perfect place to melt into a relaxed state and enjoy ourselves. We will 100% be back. Highly recommend!!!! Having come to Miami Beach for the art deco, my friend and I quickly became disappointed in the lack of corresponding ambiance. Yes, there were beautiful buildings, but the local businesses seemed all but oblivious to their charm, to the opportunity to create a special atmosphere; so many places were so much the same - similar menus (Cuban, Latin, Italian), so much grating, loud, frenetic music blasting into the street, upon on the dining tables, making conversation, contemplation, relaxation utterly impossible. Maybe we are the only two people who don't appreciate that bombardment upon the senses (what are the odds?), but we walked miles in search of something, anything, different. It was by beautiful happenstance that we passed this inviting, enchanting path into a secret garden oasis. The greenery, the Paris cafe decor, the gentler sophisticated music, the gorgeous welcoming woman whose demeanor reflected the blend of peace and whimsy that infused the space - THIS is what we'd been seeking! Even better when our coffee was brought out in a darling deco pot, served with a couple of mini anise biscottis. Peering into the connected Cadet Hotel, we glimpsed a charmingly corresponding bar and lobby, dominated by Clark Gable memorabilia. Had we known of this place there's every likelihood it's where we'd have booked our stay. As it is, it was a treat to bring ourselves to Salon du Cafe as often as we could, for coffee, treats, and blessed respite from a loud, chaotic, seemingly single-minded city. read more

I kind of love this cafe and kind of don't. It's hidden. You walk through a tunnel of green foliage to enter the cafe. It's outside but shady with fans. It's relaxing with soft music. And they wills serve you a pot of coffee versus a cup. The coffee is very strong, and not always hot. I wouldn't call it good coffee. There are little to no vegan options other than toast and jelly. And the staff is hit or miss. One time I stopped in, sat down and asked for water, and the server told me that I had to pay for the tap water that is normally provided. Even though I had planned on ordering coffee, there was too much of a language barrier for me to explain. But all that aside, I'm giving it 3 stars because it's just so pretty. Salon du Cafe is a something out of a dream - you enter down a path of palms, feeling as if you've stumbled upon a secret garden. Then Charlie greets you as if he just happened to be waiting for you to stop by. The seats are all comfy, the coffee is spectacular, and of course, there are coffee cocktails, which are my favorite! Breakfast is also a scrumptious bit of heaven prepared by Chef Bruno who was kind enough to come out and greet my dog and share his Argentinian sausage source. We ordered coffee (Frappuccino which was hot not ice cold as described) and ice cream (which tasted like garbage), alcohol and we paid for it. If they can't distinguish between homeless campers and paying patrons then obviously they have no sense of business. I am aware that the cafe has a policy that guest can only stay at a table for 45 minutes -- but I see that the cafe is not crowded, so I ask a waiter if I can stay as long as I like before I order anything. He assured me I can stay, so I stay and ordered the overpriced food. However, after a while, the manager comes out and tries to kick me out (even though I ordered breakfast and a coffee -- which means I spend more, and should be allowed more time).
