Throughout the appointment, he took the time to share spot-on observations about my hair and scalp, along with tips for optimizing my tress health. It wouldn't be an overestimation to liken his expertise to that of a hair doctor. By the end of my appointment, I not only had one of the best hair cuts in my life; I also walked away with tons of styling and haircare tips. Will a cut here cost a premium? Yes. After a lengthy online search, and being captivated by her salon's positive reviews, I quickly made the call for a free consultation. I was wearing hats all summer long to conceal my over-highlighted hair as I desperately wanted to go back to my original, natural and healthy-looking brunette color. I needed a hair magician to bring my hair back to its former glory and had a gut feeling Nicole was my ticket to hair paradise. During my free consultation with Nicole, she was confident I could make the transition back to a healthy-looking brunette vs sun-drenched, dry-looking, highlighted hair (my words, not hers). What I appreciated most is that she was honest; and advised me that to achieve a more natural-looking hair color, it would take some time to get there, but it was not impossible. My roots were super healthy and I had shown her previous photos of my hair without highlights, so she knew it was achievable. The game plan involved a gradual return to my original color. It was a commitment I was willing to make: 2-3-sessions of toner, cut off all the dry ends (immediately stop using blue-toning shampoo+conditioner) then gradually add lowlights once my highlighted roots were grown out a few more inches, so she could match them perfectly. Which, over the 3rd visit, she miraculously did! At my first visit, Nicole did a "root melt" along with applying a toner after she had dry cut all my dead ends off. Within the first visit, my hair already started looking like its healthy self again and I was amazed! My hair finally had volume and movement with natural waves and no more dead ends. It looked like a new head of hair. I was thrilled!!! Regarding other aspects of working with Nicole -- her salon space is cozy and inviting. She brewed loose leaf tea (my fave is peppermint), which I greatly enjoyed while you listening to zen music. I also love that the space itself feels open and airy, does not smell of any chemicals (like other salons) as she only uses organic products. With very sensitive skin and a scalp that is prone to dryness, I appreciate not having any harsh chemicals on my scalp or near my face. Also, the lighting is super mellow (no overhead lights) or loud music you don't want to hear. A completely chill experience all the way around.
