HUGE shout out to Kallie and her Jet Plasma Hair Treatments! Absolutely worth the hype!! I have struggled with PCOS hair loss on and off for years. After a hysterectomy causing some additional health issues, my hair was falling out by the handful. Med options were not worth the side effects for me. I tried all the vitamins and supplements, saw very little to no improvements. Only a couple of Jet Plasma treatments and my completely bald spots were filling in. Kate at Salon Boheme is amazing! She did shellac manicures for me and my four bridesmaids, and she was so accommodating of our schedules and with her space. She is definitely a perfectionist and took the time to make sure we were completely happy with our manicures. This may be the best shellac manicure I've ever gotten! The salon is also gorgeous and super cozy. I loved that you can have wine, soft drinks, or coffee while you are getting your hair or nails done, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Their fake nail service is a JOKE. I had Sally Ann Fox do my nails and she did an awful job. You may think I'm over exaggerating but for the piece I payed, (over 60$) I would expect a quality job. For starters, when she would cure my nails, they would burn (fyi they shouldn't) and it wasn't just a little pain, it was a lot. There were times where I just wanted to pull my hand out from under the uv light. Next, she made my nail lengths uneven (I had to fix them myself) and worst of all, they were extremely bubbly. Sally barley sanded them and she knew they were bad but told me that she will just fix them next time, which is a horrible thing to go by. If you know your nail job is bad, you should fix them then. I also received a French tip paint job and it was such a waste of money. The tips were half assed and sloppy (transparent in some areas and some parts unpainted). But it didn't really matter since I have to go home and file them for a couple of hours and paint them myself. Also I get a slight infection in my pinkie finger from her accidentally poking me with her nail tools. But that's just the cherry on top of this nail experience. Anyways I do not recommend getting your nails done here, especially by Sally Ann fox. If they try to give you her, I would personally ask for someone else ASAP. Don't waste your money. read more

I will admit, I do not have a lot of salon experience's under my belt, but I have seen enough to get a good idea. The place is decorated really cute, it is clean and open. I have a salon in Reno, that has a very similar theme actually, the old doors décor thing... Anyways, I had a manicure done recently, while visiting, again, not a ton of experience in this arena, but I was surprised when we literally just got our nails done. I mean, every one I've ever seen started with a nail soak, maybe a massage, some cleaning... Not here, just straight to cuticle pressing and cutting, into painting the nails. I don't have nice nails, I am a nail biter, and under my nails were dirty. I didn't have to pay the $30, for the gel shellac, but if I would have, I would have been offended. It took her about 30 or so minutes to do it all I think. I didn't have long enough nails to do a french manicure, so about halfway thru, I remembered about the "reverse" french, where the half moon is at the base of the nail, instead of the tip. Tessa, the manicurist, had no idea what I was talking about, so I wasn't able to get it done. It was kind of funny afterwards, because nothing was cleaned, so it was a nice polish on ugly hands. Overall, it was just a lackluster experience for me. She did do gel fills, on my cousin, and those turned out pretty well, pretty uniform leveling without a lot of bumps and such, only the shaping could have been improved a bit slightly, so to be not as fan like. Overall, it looked good, so the skill is there. I just wish, for being a salon/spa experience, it was more of that, and that Tessa was a bit more knowledgeable on the latest trends for nails. The ladies all seemed extremely nice and friendly, since I don't live in the area, I probably won't be back, but I did want to just point out to potential customers about the manicure style, don't expect to be too pampered ;) read more

Terrible customer service. I called as a courtesy to let my hairdresser know that I would be 10 minutes late (at the very most). She informed me that was too late and she would no longer be able to accommodate me. I told her that I had requested a pixie cut and my hair was already very short so it wouldn't take long to trim up, but she did not care and said she had to cancel me. I have a three month old and getting anywhere exactly on time is a feat, but never did I think that my appointment would be canceled over eight minutes. Word to the wise: if you are going to be a couple minutes late, don't tell them, just show up. read more

Omg. I have PTSD! I went here when I first moved to Astoria. My hair had started falling out and I was trying to grow it out for my wedding. I believe her name was Joni (Jody?) cut it. I have curly, coarse hair that I straighten. She cut it straight across my back and pointed out how badly I was shedding and how poor my hair looked. That's fine. But when you cut it across my back and take the time to judge me...at least cut it straight. I found somewhere else and someone who took the time to listen. I have seriously been to almost every salon in the county looking for someone that does not only do great color, but when you come home your hair is in great condition. I have some nightmare experiences that cost me 150.00 and I was embarrassed to go outside (Cannon Beach well known salon) I think they use better products here than most and I truly love the natural blended color and service I get from Kallie. Got a haircut here recently ($35 for women) and not overly impressed. I booked and rescheduled my appointment through their online system, which was super easy and convenient. Cute decor, although I wish they had bigger mirrors. The stylist cutting my hair was nice and shared some good advice on my hair type. I had a few slight issues here, nothing major: -The hair products they use have a very strong scent. It was nice during the shampoo, but it got overwhelming at the end with the finishing products. -When I got home, I noticed a few sections of my hair with a couple of strands that were obviously longer than the rest of the cut. I ended up trimming this myself. -I'm used to a women's haircut including styling (e.g. blowing out my layers to curl them in) but all I got was the cut and a quick, plain blow dry. This was my first time getting a cut in Oregon, so I'm not sure if that's the norm here. The stylist didn't try to sell a bunch of products, which is always appreciated, as well as not charging extra for long hair. Start to finish about 50 minutes for a few inches trimmed and long layers. They also do nails and massages at this salon. read more

I went not expecting much because I had such an awful experience at a nail salon down the street and was pleasantly surprised. The salon is nicely decorated and they offered me a glass of wine as soon as I sat down. I had a shellac manicure and it turned out perfect. It lasted for about a week and a half which is about standard for any other french manicure shellac I have had. The girl that did my nails was very nice and professional. If you are going to get your nails done in Astoria, this is the place to go. Do not waste your time anywhere else. Even if you have to wait to get a reservation, it is worth it!!! read more

Both ladies are personable, professional and always fun to be around. And now for the big treat. The salon just installed new sinks for hair washing. I got my nails done here by Sally and it was the worst nail job I've ever received. The nails were uneven lengths, extremely bubbly (not filed enough) plus when she was curing my nails it was very painful and uncomfortable to the point where I wanted to yank my hands out from under the UV light. Horrible job too, even the paint job was uneven and all for nothing because as soon as I got home I had to spend over an hour filing my nails to make them look somewhat decent and that's not all. They charged my 80$ which was 20$ over what I was told it would cost. Do NOT get your nails done here. So many other places can do a better job for HALF the price. read more

Tessa did my nails - and while it wasn't beyond the basics for a shellac she did a good job. I have had pedicures by Joni and loved her and her joyful attitude about life. I went here because of all the good reviews they had, but it was a big mistake. I brought in pictures of what I wanted and left with something completely different. I kept asking questions during the process about what color she was using and such and she would not give me a straight answer. It would have been great to see a swatch book if nothing else. She said she was mixing some colors and I ended up with orange hair. It wasn't until I was outside in the natural light that I seen how awful my hair had turned out. I called to have her correct it an she said for another $77 she would do it. I had already given her $150 or the initial process. That is just ridiculous!! I really think that if you pay that much money you should be satisfied with the style. Callin ruined Salon Boheme for me. I will take my business somewhere else where they value their customers. read more

So, the people were all so fantastic! No question about it. However I've been in"cheap" nail places, I've been in high end nail salons, and they all normally do the same things. This place was incredibly disappointing for the amount of money I paid. I don't ever mind paying for any sort of customer service, and I still tipped 20% because that's how anyone in customer service makes money, but it is was such a disappointing experience. Maybe you have to be a local or a friend of someone who works there to get a good experience. But honestly anyone who has EVER gone to a nail salon knows how things normally basically go, and you will not find it here. read more

I called in the morning wanting to make an appointment to get my ridiculously long mermaid hair cut and they got me in that day. The stylist I had did a really good job and now my hair looks even better then it did before when it was really long.
