The stylist was Avery, she said she has been licensed for a year. I asked where she went to school after my haircut and she refused to disclose that information . I showed a photo of a professional style suitable for a 50+ professional. She discussed it and starting cutting my very fine texture with ruining shears. I asked why. She said to trust her. Then she took a razor thinned the locks framing my face to be too short snd every hair a different length. As she started with the razor I said my hair type cannot take a razor cut.thats for thick hair only. She said, "you'll love it". Then she ruined my hair. Ruined it. When I called the next day she was hateful and uncooperative and ​snd offered to cut it more for free. These girls cut alot of college age kids hair and are not fit to work on mature adults. We are ones with the money. NEVER GO HERE FOR A HAIRCUT. Denton is full of good beauty shops. If felt throughout the cut she was being a smart alec and ruining women's hair intentionally. Highly recommend this salon! Carsyn cut my hair for the first time today and did such a great job--seriously one of the best cuts I've had in years. My hair is pretty thick, and she took about 5 inches off, making it feel so much lighter and just fall nicely when curled. I went and got my hair done tonight by Bailey Bommarito at Salon Bloom in downtown Denton. This girl worked some serious magic on my hair! I went in with a grown out split dye and came out a freaking Disney princess - well not quite, but definitely hair a Disney princess would be jealous of. Not only was Bailey's talents amazing, but she was seriously the sweetest girl ever! I found her on this page last week and she was able to get me in before she left for a trip. Even though we'd never met, it felt as if I'd known her for years. Salon Bloom is a mere year old, but the salon was beautiful! Decor was immaculate, an area for after photos next to a decked out flower wall and ring light. I met a couple of the other stylists while there and they were all so dang sweet and all their clients left looking amazing and smiling ear to ear! 10/10 highly recommend. I genuinely hate leaving bad reviews. I recently visited this salon with the intention of achieving a brown balayage. The stylist Maribel, informed me that it might take multiple sessions to reach my desired brown shade, which I understood. She dyed my hair a solid color then followed by lightning my hair to do the balyage effect. However, I was surprised to leave with blonde highlights, which was not what I requested. I had specifically asked for a test strand, particularly because my hair has been previously processed, to ensure it could handle the bleaching process. Although the stylist initially agreed, she later declined to perform the test, stating she was confident in the outcome. This decision ultimately led to my dissatisfaction with the final result. While the "balayage"looks okay when styled, it looks horrible when straightened. After washing my hair for the first time, I noticed significant stretch and breakage, my hair feels like it has been burnt which could have potentially been avoided with a test strand. Given the salon's high prices and positive reviews, I expected a more satisfactory experience. Unfortunately, I left feeling let down, both with the outcome and the condition of my hair. I paid $420 and as a college student it is not easy making the money back or going somewhere else to fix it when I already spent so much money. UPDATE: I went back cause according to her she was going to tone my hair brown from blonde she didn't accept she didn't do what I asked for and she made my hair black with red tones when I initially also paid for her to remove the red tones and I paid 420 just for it to be black. I noticed she left the toner on for so long which is probably why this happened this isn't even a balayage. Once I asked if what she used would eventually come off cause (after spending so much money for no change) it's ridiculous and I never got a text back. I feel like if she feels annoyed it's just a lot of unprofessionalism on her part. She states she never used black on my hair yet it looks black. Not only that I initially booked the retonement of hair a certain date and she rebooked me a few days and when I went on the rebooked date she took 30 minutes to get to me despite me telling her before that I was okay with moving the date back. Tldr: Karla is AMAZING!!! I came in needing a haircut but not sure what I wanted, and Karla helped me figure out what would be best for my hair type, face shape, and growth goals. Swapping haircut horror stories, I really appreciated her conservative approach to cutting my hair. She said we'd only need to take 2 inches off, and that's exactly how much she cut (can you believe?!). She even cut my bangs three different times to make sure she didn't cut them too short! The next day I couldn't get over how soft my hair was and how good it smelled, so I gave her a call to see if she would mind sharing the products she used. She not only shared the products names and purposes, but she also told me exactly where I could buy them and offered to send me pictures of them to make sure I got the right products! Lastly, it can be challenging to find a salon that is welcoming to LGBTQ+ people like myself. When I mentioned my wife, Karla treated me like anyone else and said she looks forward to cutting my wife's hair! If you need a haircut by an experienced stylist that listens to their clients, I can't recommend Karla enough! read more

I drove by the salon and decided to try a haircut here because of the good reviews. I asked for a trim with long layers and face framing pieces, and I walked out with that and super thin hair. My stylist did not warn me that she was going to thin out my hair and at first I didn't realize the difference. But, upon driving away from the salon, I noticed that the hair I walked in with, was not the same thickness as the hair that I walked out with. This was disappointing to realize when there was nothing that I could do about my newly thin hair, after making it clear that I only wanted a trim. First time to visit the location. My stylist Destiny has recently joined the salon. Nice location just outside of the square in downtown Denton, TX. The salon is clean and open with a cool laidback vibe. They have an adorable floral 'Bloom' wall for post appointment photos! Parking is right outside of the front door. There is a coffee shop right next door to grab a drink and or a snack for your appointment open for breakfast and lunch. The stylist are all independent booth renters so they are able to set their own price and product lines. read more

Liv... Liv ignored my request for a dry cut (I had my overgrown hair styled the way I wear it) and at no point after she washed it did she recover the part I showed her and cut it according the picture I provided. I told her I was going to let myself enjoy her hands on my hair and to let me know if she had a question about my cut, but that did not stop her from describing her friend's cat's eating habits (which was the least frustrating part of this experience). I stopped having conversation with her after she made a judgmental comment about my unprofessional dye job,; it was obvious she doesn't care to build rapport with her clients. The third or fourth time she gave me the mirror and asked how I liked the back, I told her I'm giving up on trying to effectively communicate my needs, that I'd like to pay and go home. She did not base her work on the picture I showed to her and described in detail, and I had to wear an unfinished cut to a wedding the next day. The way Liv made me feel is the exact opposite of how anyone should feel at the salon: judged, ignored and paying for something other than what was requested (she charged me $40). Kenzie came over and damage controlled some of Liv's handiwork. She offered for me to come back and let her even out the cut when I returned to town after the wedding, which I took her up on (she's great). The atmosphere was nice, and I'd continue seeing Kenzie, but she was honest with me that pixie cuts aren't her best work (points for professionalism). Avoid Liv. No one should be made to feel like that when they're paying someone to change the way they look. read more
