Overall I had a great experience getting my hair done here! It was also really reasonably priced in my opinion. I'm a local, so I was a little worried going to a place that might've just been catering to tourists, but I was happy to learn that wasn't the case. I'll probably go back to get blonder at some point as well. Great that I could Walk-In when I was in the area. Plain water soak manicure. Nice Asian woman. Asked did I want polish. Yes. Picked out my color. Quick manicure in water soak. Less than what my usual manicures include. Ok. She was nice. 68. Husband left her. Me-bi-racial, Asian woman, young Caucasian girl at receptionist desk and older Caucasian guy. Music playing a song that included Nigger something. Sheesh just wow. Pay. It is $30 ok about $8 more than I usually pay for simple mani. Did you get color? Yes. Brown. Oh it's $40 I said for having my nails polished. Wow $10 more to have nail polish added to my water soak manicure. Cute interior decorations. Just shocked that nail color wasn't included in my $41.20 manicure-plain no gel no acrylic and left $5 tip(I did not bring more cash urgh) They did not have any Hair Stylist working when I went. I am a creature of habit when it comes to my hair. I like it to be easy and I have been going to the same person to cut my hair for five years. This time a hurricane interrupted my hair cut routine causing me to cancel my appointment. When I went to reschedule before going on a business trip I couldn't get an appointment, because my hairdresser was on vacation. I had to do it. Don't judge me- I needed that cut before flying out of town. So, I cheated on my hairdresser. I chose Salon @ 31st, because I could make an appointment on Yelp and they are close to home. Unfortunately, my appointment request wasn't responded to on Yelp, but this could be because I ended up making a direct appointment on their website a few hours after submitting the appointment request on Yelp. Filled with guilt for my hair-affair I arrived to my appointment 5 minutes early and I waited outside with several of the staff members for the salon to open. Once the doors opened I kept waiting, the stylist that was assigned to me was running 15 minutes late for work. When she bounced in through the front door she quickly brought be back and got the process started. The next hour was filled with the standard appointment small talk that I expected. It took me a little bit to get the bad taste out of my mouth from waiting when I had a busy morning following my appointment. I have to say though- even with my guilt and the late start I don't think this will be the last time I get my hair cut at Salon @ 31st! I have been absolutely loving my cut, it is one of the best I have had in awhile! The prices are a little higher than my normal salon, but the price is competitive with other salons in the area. You also can't beat getting a quick peak at the ocean after your appointment. I'll probably return, because at the end of the day the quality of the cut outshines the minor customer service negative moments I experienced. read more

What a lovely location for a salon. Right at the oceanfront. Every Christmas Eve we go and get pampered. We have worked so hard getting Christmas ready for the family that we ladies take a much needed break. We go for pedicures. I love the staff. We always get such lovely people pampering us. Totally inlove with this salon. We each have different personalities and it always works out that each of us gets our perfect person to be paired up with. We make a reservation every Christmas Eve. Inside is clean. The message chairs are bit rough feeling. We have all talked about it and have decided this. They also need TV or music or something. Staring at a wall is a bit stressful. Just one improvement could be either spectacular message chairs or mood music or TV to watch something relaxing. Such as scenery with music. We love this salon because we enjoy talking to each other and have our own room. And consistently give good pedicures. Their staff are truly nice. read more

My mom took me here for my 20th birthday today ! We both got the refresh package (30min massage & pedicure). I am absolutely completely satisfied with my experience! Tammy took real good care of my feet & did a great paint job. She even wished me a happy birthday and was very attentive to if was okay and enjoying my experience. Nicole hunny put me to sleep with the massage ‍ it was only 30 minutes but it felt like I got a 2 hour nap. She is a very kind soul and i felt at ease during my massage, she focused on my neck/shoulders like I asked and they do feel completely better (I recently went rock climbing and gained tension there but now I am feeling better and relaxed). Reasonably priced pedicure with an excellent service! Tammy's hands were the answer to my feet after a long day of exploring the area and enjoying the outdoors. She did a really good paint job and her hands with the foot massage were really good. I suggest if possible to ask for her. I was in town for a wedding and found myself in need of a blow out. I made an appointment for a Saturday afternoon and was thrilled to get in. My stylist was running on time and soon I was seated in the back in the oddest shampoo chair I had ever seen! It sort of puts you in a prone position which was difficult to get out of and put a lot of pressure on my neck but maybe I'm just a gal who likes my feet on the ground. Oh well- the shampoo was great with lots of massaging. My stylist (I wish I could remember her name as she was terrific!)did a great job with my hair. It looked amazing and the held up well for the next couple of days of wedding festivities. If you go- know that this is right off the beach so if there are events going on at the beach (in my case it was some kind of volleyball tourney) you are going to have difficulty parking as all of the garages are full. I lucked out after driving around a couple of times to get street parking right out front, but I was panicked I was going to be late for my appointment. So give yourself plenty of time. All in all a great experience and reasonably priced. My blowout was only $35! read more

A phenomenal spa day at Salon @ 31st! I booked the renewal package which included a 45 minute massage, a 30 minute facial, and deluxe pedicure. I added on a hot oil scalp massage and I'm so glad I did! Ashley was the massage therapist and she was AMAZING! I get massages a lot and she had some great techniques that I had not seen before. The hot oil scalp massage was heavenly. Kayla was the esthetician and she was fantastic! I have rosacea and she was so knowledgeable with my condition. I would not recommend Tammi for a manicure at work pedicure. In fact I bought a package of services and left without a pedicure because I didn't want her coming near my feet. There is a garage on pacific ave for parking. This salon had the best selection of gels, dips, and polishes that I've seen at the beach. This salon was very clean. The spa waiting area was comfortable. It was not a relaxation area, just a couch and a couple of chairs. The treatment rooms were very nicely appointed with comfy, heated tables. The products were great. Moroccan oil for the massage and Eminence for the facial. The prices are VERY reasonable. I took my two teenagers yesterday for haircuts. My 16 year old son's haircut took about 15 minutes and the stylist did not listen to what he asked for - way too short definitely not worth $35. My 15 daughter was insulted by the stylist multiple times - told she was damaging her hair, it was too thick, etc. The base price for her haircut was $55 (she has straight long hair) and was upcharged an additional $30 because "her hair is long and thick". On top of it they charged us a 4% credit card fee. I do not know the stylist names because neither introduced themselves. My son had a man and my daughter had a female - we think her name began with a B. One positive - they gave us a Same day appointment which I think is because this place is a total rip off. Despite the time spent, I still got incredibly sloppy work and passed around by 3 different techs. If you don't have time to do the work properly, do me the courtesy of not wasting my time or money. I accidentally messed up the polish on my big toe, but instead of repainting it, the tech painted over it.... see the pic. I walked into this salon on a Saturday Labor Day weekend while visiting family in Va. Beach and was happy to learn they could accommodate me for a mani pedi even though they had a wedding party receiving services. The salon was very clean and beautifully decorated and I liked that they had a very large selection of polish including the "free from" colors that are not as toxic as regular polishes. My tech was very kind and polite plus she did excellent work because my regular polish mani/pedi lasted almost two weeks! I highly recommend this business. read more
