Man, was I happy to find Palestine RV Park! It's a fairly small park tucked away in the trees, with many long-term residents. However, they also cater to short term stays. I had my trailer there for four days. The sites are huge, with 30 and 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer. Roads in and around the park are asphalt paved, but the sites are unpaved, and it's fine sand that gets in EVERYTHING, so be sure to bring some doormats or something. The park is quiet (park rules say that quiet hours are from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, lol) and pitch dark at night, but there are pole lamps at the sites that you can plug in and use if you need additional lighting. Angela, the owner, met me at the gate in her UTV and led me directly to my site, where she did the paperwork and payment, then offered to help me set up my trailer! There's a nice laundry and shower building near the entrance. The park has controlled access with keypads and a gate controller, and you can come and go as you please. Everyone I encountered there was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely stay there again! p.s. Be sure to look for Bigfoot when you're there! ;-)

So guess who ends up picking up trash all the time? That's right, me! Sadly, I see more and more trash every time I go, and that is a disgrace. A clean park lies on the citizens like us. If you see trash, please pick it up. Bring a bag with you. Every lit but that we do, will. Ake a big difference collectively. Don't expect others to pick up trash, please help and pick it up!

They have an underwater rope course you can use to navigate from one side to the other. The waters color and clarity come from its origin. It was originally a Limestone Rock Quarry. Spring water has filled it up making this a good dive location. Another feature I found to be very cool for instructors is the large underwater decks. These are part of the course and make a great place to perform dive skills without disturbing the silt on the bottom. My dive site had an easy entry and exit. The depth ranges depending on the amount of rain throughout the year. This is a great place to teach new students, practice your skills, or train as a dive team. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Being this was my first time here they answered all of my questions.

Approach slow, it's on the left after exiting by the pilot...big white sign. (We were needing a quick overnight spot due to icy conditions) Shady Acres had pretty level spots even with trees. There was no water due to the freeze but the electric was perfect. The owners were able to greet us and checked on us a few times due the weather. My doggies loved all the great sniffs! I'll remember this spot for a quiet weekend getaway. (Check maps of Buffalo, TX for restaurants around or break out the grill!) Also not too far from the drive-in in Ennis, TX!

The rooms are still outdated . The wifi didn't work at all . You clean your own room and take out your own trash , which we did and took pictures after we were done because we heard the stories and wanted to be sure we were protected. someone who has been here at least 6 times , the old management was far better and more organized. Let me get into the $250 "smoking charge " they tried to take out my account with ZERO notice . First off , we don't even smoke ! You can clearly see they are catering to a certain crowd . The claim was they smelled smoke in the cabin , which was impossible. We didn't even light the fire pit! I had brought my own pit to BBQ but for that exact reason I didn't because I heard the stories about the fake charges . I cant stress this enough..make sure your card is locked trust me . They tried to get me but was unsuccessful. No call or nothing prior , that's what made it suspicious. They are money hungry in a very petty way . I definitely advise anyone who is considering going ...DONT !

Run by the Corsicana Parks and Recreation Department, this Beach Park has a nice, sandy beach area…read morewhere you could potentially sunbath or swim with an alligator if you'd like - as the signs state "Swim at Own Risk" just above "Alligators Have Been Sighted in This Area". Maybe I'm not carved from the same metal as Texans from East Texas. Despite being an avid swimmer, I haven't yet warmed up to the idea of swimming in a lake where alligators have been sighted. But hey, to each their own! I've swam in the ocean many times. Sharks have been spotted there so maybe this is similar!? Just know that you can potentially knock "swimming with alligators" off of your bucket list by swimming at this lovely beach;). This beach park also includes gravel parking and four, nicely spaced shelters with picnic tables and grills, not a bad place to spend an afternoon or evening;)
