Man, was I happy to find Palestine RV Park! It's a fairly small park tucked away in the trees, with many long-term residents. However, they also cater to short term stays. I had my trailer there for four days. The sites are huge, with 30 and 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer. Roads in and around the park are asphalt paved, but the sites are unpaved, and it's fine sand that gets in EVERYTHING, so be sure to bring some doormats or something. The park is quiet (park rules say that quiet hours are from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, lol) and pitch dark at night, but there are pole lamps at the sites that you can plug in and use if you need additional lighting. Angela, the owner, met me at the gate in her UTV and led me directly to my site, where she did the paperwork and payment, then offered to help me set up my trailer! There's a nice laundry and shower building near the entrance. The park has controlled access with keypads and a gate controller, and you can come and go as you please. Everyone I encountered there was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely stay there again! p.s. Be sure to look for Bigfoot when you're there! ;-)

Kudos to the owners, Jim & his wife (who live on site), for their vision. It's obvious they want to provide a quality establishment and I believe this will be accomplished in time. The weather was foul with all the rain, but spot #10 with full hook up was level with a good, hard base making it unnecessary for leveling jacks. It was literally park, hook up & relax. TGRR is a pet friendly place with a fenced in grassed area for off the leash running. The established rules for all pets provide considerate harmony between those who have pets and those of us who do not. The private bathrooms with shower are clean and have been nicely tiled. An industrial mat to step out on out of the shower and a hand dispenser at the sink for hand soap would be my only suggestion for consideration. After 12 hours on the road and a spontaneous decision, this was a great choice. We definitely appreciate the after hours check in and the owners' hospitality.

The site view was absolutely stunning. we had a really good time. The next morning as we are preparing to leave, we couldn't find the sewer dump, as our site did not have one so we went to the office and she showed us where it was. that was an experience in itself the sillies were closed, I was surprised there was no showers nothing. One little toilet next to the dump, and he was trying to dump the sewer , the water was off, and he had to go behind someone's RV to turn the water on as it is hooked up to that water Spicket. that was kind of a nightmare but the rest of it was OK and we had a pleasant time. Texas can have that heat and humidity. ugggh. Nasty hot!

When I pulled in to the station I noticed smoke coming from my RV!! It was on fire!!! Me and the Jewett fire department was able to get it put out but I was not able to stay in it and had to rent a room. I was in town for a benefit and my time was limited. Larry took care of me like no one else would. He let me park my trailer at the campground at no charge but that's not all. I was busy with the benefit all weekend while knowing that Sunday I was going to have to deal with fixing my RV enough that I could pull it home. I arrived back at the campground early Sunday morning to find my RV completely sealed up and ready to go. It was as if an angel had come and saved the day! Larry did this for me because, as he said "I just like to help people when I can and I knew you needed help". This sort of kindness is rare these days and I could not be more grateful.
